Oh my gosh not in years!! I watched the first season of both that and Torchwood back in the day, but I never followed up on either of them. That was around the time I was *really* getting into the MCU, and my interest in Doctor Who (and the overall SuperWhoLock fandom) started dwindling, unfortunately. But now I'm older and I recognize how much brilliant work has gone into that entire franchise, which has revitalized my interest in it.

I'm rewatching Sarah Jane Adventures right now, it's very nostalgic for me. It went on for 5 seasons, but season 5 is very short because sadly Elisabeth Sladen passed away during production. You'd have a lot to see for the first time 🙂 I think it's as good as Doctor Who.

Thank you for the welcome! And oh my god, I'm only finished with season 2 but I have so many favorites right off the bat. Buffy is actually fantastic- sometimes with shows like this, you can end up with a supporting cast that's more interesting than the protagonist, but I am so excited every time Buffy is on screen b/c of how deep her character goes from such an early point. My other main favorites are Willow, Cordelia, Jenny (RIP 😢), Kendra (RIP 😭), Drusilla, and most importantly, GILES!!! I have such a crush on him it's not even fair. I can't believe he's not more of a universal TV character crush b/c he's so dorky and adorable.

As for ships, I expected to go into this shipping Buffy/Spike right away, but I've been informed that doesn't come until quite a bit later in the show (which I actually like, because it gives them a lot of time to know each other as enemies until they become closer). Until I get there, I'd say there's not any canonical ships that I'm particularly attached to other than Willow/Oz (Oz is such a sweetie too 😊) and Giles/Jenny. Non-canonical ships that I've daydreamed about/want to write fic about include Buffy/Willow, Buffy/Cordelia, Willow/Cordelia, Willow/Xander/Cordelia, Buffy/Kendra, and Angel/Spike/Drusilla.

Hey! Welcome! Imo, you should start Angel season 1 when you kickstart Buffy season 4. That is how they were meant to be watched back then. It's not the end of the world if you don't, but you might be confused a few times when some characters pop out of nowhere.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the series. You have yet to reach the best the Buffyverse has to offer. I envy you. 😉

Thank you! I wish I'd been doing some sort of liveblogging along with the episodes, because I've had sooo many thoughts about the show that I can't remember anymore xD But I'm only just at the beginning of season 3, so maybe I'll keep track of some of my big thoughts about the new episodes I watch. I wonder how different my views are from those that fans were having when the show was first airing.

Thank you! And thanks for sharing your pronouns too! I just like to be open about stuff like that online because it's obviously not as simple to do it IRL. Luckily with he/she pronouns people can kinda call me whatever they want because I don't really care enough lol. I've been really enjoying this site so far! Everyone here is really cool.

Thank you! Yeah, I've been told that watching Angel alongside s4 is the way to go. I know actually nothing about Angel, except that there is a character called Cordelia in it, but I have no idea if that's the same as our Cordelia lol. I hope I enjoy the rest of the series too! I know there's a lot of good stuff coming up (I've seen people even say that s3 is one of the best seasons, and I'm just about to really dive into that one!) so I'm very excited.

Yea, try to avoid spoilers as best as you can. I was spoiled about a few things concerning the Angel series before watching it which was unfortunate.

As for Buffy season 3, I think its biggest strength is that pretty much every episode is at the very least GOOD. Season 1 and Season 2 had a few really mid episodes! I'd put Season 5 above Season 3, though.

I like Giles myself too . I see him as like a Father to Buffy & at oner point wanted him & Joyce to hook up so they could be a family . I know that crazy but it true . Glad to see you like Buffy/Spike . Nothing against Angel but they made Spiker falling for Buffy more realist in my mind . Buffy /Cordellia ?! * Happy dance * Been wanting to do that for some time but i havent gotten up the nerve yet myself .

I love this!!! I just love the idea of Giles, stuffy and uptight and wholly dedicated to his life as a Watcher, having this whirlwind of a kid in front of him and realizing not only is she a skilled slayer, she's also a teenager who has been through some severely traumatic stuff, and still remains to be a good person on top of it. I love how clearly Buffy won him over, and how much he wants her to be happy.

Yes!!! Honestly this show is making me wanna write femslash more than any other show has before. I just think they're two surprisingly deep and charismatic characters who have an interesting relationship with each other. I loved Cordy from the beginning, but after I watched Out of Mind Out of Sight, it totally made me fall for her even more, how she went to the group for help because she knew that Buffy would help her. She might actually be my favorite character atm, but that's such a tough choice.

Buffy did win him over . Yoo can see how Giles went from being Buffy watcher to being someone who cared for her & stood up for her .


One main reason for me is they made it more real for Spike & Buffy . Plus he the only Vampire i think that seemed to enjoy him self .


Agreed . She told Buffy that she was lonely but she didn't want to be lonely by her self . That was a bonding moment there .

Have you seen When she was Bad ?
