I don't see a thread like this and I thought it might be helpful and/or fun.

First, as many of you know, I caught Fringe and I LOVE IT! It's just what my little brain needed.

On the other hand, I'm watching Christian Slater's new show right now (My Own Worst Enemy) and I can't seem to force myself to care about it AT ALL. I'm really trying though, maybe it will hit me later.

I also watched The Eleventh Hour on Thursday. As of right now, it kind of falls right in between. It didn't suck me in right away, but to be honest, I was more struck with how weird Riley looked. It deserves a few more weeks before I can rule on it. I didn't not like it. I was hoping it would be more "spooky", but it has a chance.

I love Raising The Bar with Gunn in it. It sucked me in quick.

I also have been watching The Mentalist. Which doesn't tickle me pink, but I do like it.

Anyone seen anything they like that we should know about?

Update on My Own Worst Enemy
It loses points for having to watch it twice, but it's not AWFUL. I'll give it three more episodes. But, it gets a 4/10 so far. I don't like having to watch things twice to get into it.
It's not one you can watch without looking at the screen, which is a pain.

By responding I realize that I watch entirely too much TV and I also realized I am a reality tv whore but I have quite the list of shows that I love and am currently watching.

On the drama front I have to reccommend True Blood. Oh where to begin. This show totally fills my vampire needs. I love the story line, the actors, the lore and the twists we have experience so far.

Dexter is another show I have to reccomend as well. We are now in season 3 and Dexter has a new bff he would rather not have. Oh it is delightful. So yeah, go Dexter!! (and it has Julie Benz of course)

I also really like the Starter Wife with Debra Messing. I am only 26 but I feel middle age creepin up quick and I find her story facinating.

Saving Grace is another one I would reccommend. Holly Hunter does an amazing job on the show and I think the concept is very interesting.

As far as sitcoms are concerned I have a bunch. Big Bang Theory, (I should post a thread just about this show it is so great) How I Met Your Mother, Kath and Kim, 30 Rock and Two and Half Men (yes I love this show)

And last but not least Reality TV. Oh how I love you. So I know Big Brother just wrapped but I will always watch it. As far as the ones I am currently watching it would be Survivor, I love Money, Amazing Race, Sharon Osbournes Charm School, Real World/Road Rules THE ISLAND, The Pickup Artist 2 and those are the ones I just thought of off the top of my head. Additionally I will be watching American Idol and So you think you can dance once they are on the air as well. Wow, that is a lot.......

karma for The Island, challenges are my crack! BUt *ahem* ALL those reality shows and you don't watch Dancing with the Stars?!
Fringe is high up on my favorite new shows list. As a Dawson's Crek fan, or more accuratley, a Pacey Whitter fan, I wanted to watch this, as it was the first thing I've seen Joshua Jackson in Post-DC. The second episode has just aired here, and I'm definitely hooked. I love the plot, I love the characters, I love the relationship between Peter and Walter. Peter doesn't want to know his father, the way he refuses to call him 'dad' atests to that, but he can't help it. I loved how he's sleeping on the couch and letting Walter have his bed, and how he sang to him.

True Blood hasn't started here yet (right? Did I miss that?) But I'm looking forward to it.

Apart from that, the only other shows I'm watching are Prison Break, Bones and Heroes...and wait not-patiently for the new season of Supernatural! lol

Dawson's fan eh? Did you notice Busy Phillips is in Sarah Connors Chronicles now? She's starting to look kind of rough.

JJ/Pacey will ALWAYS be my dream boy, excellent taste!

Oh Pacey how I love you, you will always be the standard to which all men should live up to :) Karma for Bones, Prison Break and Heroes too!
I'm one of those cretins that doesn't necessarily care for "current" TV. I like to watch shows that have been out on DVD for a while. That way I can rent or buy them & watch them whenever I feel like it.

Most of my favorite shows are no longer on! - it's how I became a Buffy/Angel fan... and right now I am watching Gilmore Girls - about to start Season 3.

Also, Saving Grace, Weeds, Ally McBeal & Alias. Will soon start Picket Fences.

I am still watching The Shield & Boston Legal - last season for both shows. OH! - and Smallville. Which I'm pretty sure this will be the last season for it, as well.

I never watch reality shows. They bore the **** out of me.

Yay! Total Ally McBeal and Gilmore Girls karma!
I haven´t watched any of the new shows this autumn/fall. Fringe and True blood is on my list though. But I don´t want to watch an episode each week so I´ll make sure I can watch a whole bunch of episodes at the same time.

Of course I'm talking about that song! And, yes, I did see your post. I don't know how you could listen to it MORE afterwards!

you have so! You watched 90210 and that's new this fall :P
New shows include just new seasons, right?
If so, the ones I'm watching are How I Met Your Mother and Desperate Housewives.

HIMYM is so awesome. I'm glad there are finally new episode. And yesterday's episode RULED. Overall, in those 4 episodes they showed so far I really liked this one, enjoyed another one, and two were...well, a bit slow. But it's okay.

Then there's Desperate Housewives. I started watching it all the way back in season2, so I've had time to really get hooked. The show itself I don't even like that much. But you always just wanna know how things'll go on. But that's why it doesn't qualify as a show you can watch over and over again (like Buffy); here you watch it once at that's basically it.

So yeah, that's my TV season this fall 🙂

True Blood is brilliant, a little gem.

I also have every intention of getting into Fringe...as Lyri said, I'm a Pacey Witter groupie so where he goes I go😀

Fringe ROCKS. It's awesome!
Fringe is pretty good so far. I've only seen two episodes, and it looks pretty promising. Like I said to Lou, it's a dark and twisted Eureka, which is great. I did do a double take when Denethor walked in all crazy though.

I have to say, I do enjoy Desperate Housewives. I'll leave it at that.

Heroes S3 is pretty good so far. Well, I've only seen episode one, but it was pretty good. I really hope they run with the Angels thing.

What else.....I'm sure I'd be raving about Bones if I was caught up. Season 7 of Family Guy has been quite good so far too. But if anyone does the song, I'll break their neck. Yeah. Think about it.

The song? Surfing bird? I couldn´t get that out of my head for days. You saw my post in what are you listening to didn´t you? ;) Or are we simply talking about something else? I´m used to look like an idiot...

Yeah I know, I freaked when i heard Lucy was joining the cast of DSM and I hadn't been watching it, lol.
I of course mean the american version of Kath and Kim as I have never seen the aussie version. I love Molly Shannon and Selma Blair so they totally give me a happy. It is such a strange show that I cannot help but love it dearly....

Well, I get CBS and FOX and watch TV maybe 3 nights a week so my opinion is limited...
I watched the first Fringe, dozed in and out during the 2nd and really coundn't be buggered to watch it since. Its not bad, the plot is usually pretty interesting with the weird science and whatnot but the acting just gets under my skin. Joshua Jackson is a little too exagerated and his blonde counterpart lady just a little too subdued. I love the mad scientist guy though, he makes me chuckle.
I also tried to get into Worst Week but it just seems like one never ending "Meet the Parents". Don't get me wrong, I loved those movies, especially "Meet the Fockers" but the idea has been done to death and I just didn't think it was funny.
That's the only new shows I've seen this season but I remain loyal to the new seasons of the oldy but goodies... House, CBS Mondays (Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, and 2 1/2 Men) and FOX's animation domination (Simpsons, Family Guy, and American Dad... I could take or leave King of the Hill).
So yeah..

There's an American Kath and Kim? Really? I can't stand the Austrailian version, but I'd like to see what this one's like.

Whooooooops... See what happens to your brain if it´s too filled with thoughts? Yes, I have indeed watched 90210. And it´s the best show ever! I recommend you all to watch it! Ok, not really. But for some reason I still watch it and I´ve stopped watching PB, Entourage and Grey´s anatomy due to lack of time...

Okay I'll start by saying I am a self-proclaimed serious TV-Whore... I mean I really watch more stuff than maybe a normal person should (thank the technical gods that invented the DVR! :silly: )

Okay Kath and Kim, I gave a shot because Selma Blair and Molly Shannon are made of awesome... and it was okay, definitely had its funny moments but I'm not as of yet convinced, i'll need to give it a few more episodes.

Samantha Who is the only other sitcom I watch and it is made of complete awesome! The second season premiered last night and it was as laugh out loud funny as ever!

Umm, did somone say something about Pacey Witt..umm.. Joshua Jackson? *raises hand* LOVE, LOVE, LOVE him and so I to had to give Fringe a chance and so far so good, the second episode has been my favorite so far and I can only expect it to get legions better because come on, Josh Jackson AND JJ Abrams, how could you possibly go wrong?

The Christian Slater (one my serious long-time crushes) show My Own Worst Enemy is currently on my DVR but I still haven't watched it, I've been waiting for my roommate cause she wants to see it too and forbid me to watch without her. I'm really crossing my fingers for this one...

90210 has been dissapointing thus far, to me anyway... it has done nothing to impress me and the storyline choices they've taken the liberty to make for the original characters have frankly, pissed me off... I think i may give up on this one.

True Blood I've been really skeptical about because of clips I've seen that just weren't all that and (it may sound shallow but) really not thinking the main vamp guy is even remotely attractive... but I've heard enough people rave about it on the boards and I'm open minded so i will be giving at least the first episode a chance....soon.

New to me are Bones and The L-Word, and OMG I'm completely in love with both. I started on the L-Word only a few weeks ago and I'm already almost done with S4... its freaking amazing storytelling! And Bones has renewed my faith in procedural shows because its about so much more than just the case of the week... I care about every single character on that show! I started watching it when TNT started running it from the beginning a few months ago and I got sick of waiting a week for a new episode and now I'm all caugh up to current 🙂

I'm also starting to get into Californication and The Tudors... both good, just not caught up yet.

Everything else that makes it onto my DVR on a weekly basis(not brand spanking new, but currently new episodes on):
Dexter
Desperate Housewives
Brothers and Sisters (one of my top current faves)
Dancing With the Stars (my guilty pleasure)
Prison Break
Heroes (this 3rd season is rocking harder than any before it IMO)
Gossip Girl
Without a Trace (started watching it when James Marsters was guest starring and it just stuck... its like a mini movie every week)
Pushing Daisies (its loosing me a little this season)
Private Practice (Kate Walsh is a goddess)
Dirty Sexy Money (I've never actually seen this, but I'm DVRing it for when I catch up because Lucy Liu joined the cast and I'm incapable of missing anything she is in 😛 )
Lipstick Jungle (quickly becoming one of my favorites)
America's Next Top Model (guilty pleasure numero dos)
Ugly Betty
Grey's Anatomy
Friday Night Lights
The Real World/ Road Rules Challenge: The Island (these challenges are my tv crack, my roommate and I are hypnotized by them, lol)
Weeds
The Soup (comedy GOLD and I would do dirty, dirty things to Joel McHale)
The Girls Next Door (3 strikes for the guilty pleasures...)

AND, shows that I cannot wait to start anew in 2009:
Lost
Reaper
Big Love
Dollhouse (duh)

Lucy Liu joined DSM?!? Awwww...damn....I kinda wish I had given it more of a chance now....

haha, you're saying all the series I'd like to see :D: Bones L-word, Califonrication, Tudors, Dexter, Gossip Girl...
The shows the critics recommended were Fringe, Worst Week, The Mentalist and Life on Mars and I checked out all four.

Fringe was okay, but not particularly interesting.

Worst Week was underwhelming, though not bad.

The Mentalist was boring.

Life on Mars was good, but it's hard to judge it by it's pilot.

I'm also watching True Blood online, since I don't get HBO on tv.

where can you watch it online?
C
ckg927
Most of the networks put their eps online. So does Hulu. (However,it's restricted to the U.S.)
My Own Worst Enemy is starting to grow on me. Slatter is a good lead and the whole compartmentalized agent memory thing is a nice warm up for DollHouse. Last week they killed a 'watcher' I could only laugh.

I swear I can't watch anything with out some kind of Buffy influence coming into it.

I'd give it a seven out of ten, it's not the mixture of Chuck and 24 I was hoping for. Still, it makes my Monday lineup fill the DVR fast...HIMYM,Chuck, and then Worst Enemy.
