This Christmas I got Buffy seasons 5, 6, and 7. I'm a happy Zoà«. GAHHH Buffy, a new phone, and Christmas isn't even over yet

Dad subscribed us to Netfix for Christmas. I got the email and almost died. AHHHHH I love Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got a phone call today from the store where I sell my creations, and been told that I sold many products, which means that I earned almost $1000!

What makes me happy is my mother, who hates Buffy a lot and I think it hurts her that I watch it for religious reasons, bought me season six and one for Christmas. She has also paid money to rent the seasons from the video store so that I could watch them on my first round. It makes me very happy that she does that for me despite her beliefs. 😀

Wow, I don't know this, because my mum borrows my Buffy DVDs from me. I got her hooked into it (and more shows) and we even talk about the show (and about Spike, because she has good taste), she's even a Spuffy like me (I swear I didn't torture her to admit it!). And I've made it clear a long time ago to everyone that Buffy is my religion. Everybody accepts it. And even though my dad had never watched a full episode (just a few minutes of "The Body", but that was because he wanted to pet the dog and I was watching the episode next to them) I can still talk to him about Buffy, letting him know if something exciting has happened. He'd listen. My brother knows Buffy pretty well by now, since I watch it also when he's around. He's not even a fan, and he knows Buffy just like every person in this board.

My Mum accepts it, now. It's something she just had to deal with and I'm thrilled that she can just deal silently and keep her thoughts to herself. I completely accept the fact that she believes different things. I'm a Christian same as her but I am a little more open minded than a lot of the people of the religion that I know. That's pretty much what makes me happy though, that my mother, despite how she feels, is open minded towards me as a person and the things that I like. It's just great. But you are very, very lucky. I've got the bad end of the stick but it's not as bad as it could be. My sister is obsessed with the show as much as I am, she'll be joining the boards soon once her internet is hooked up. My Dad would probably like the show if he watched it but he won't. I'm a bit scared to let him watch it because I'm not sure how the sex would go down with him, me being fifteen and his little girl. Haha.

You need to pick the right episode to show him, not all of them are "children, cover your eyes now". There are great episodes that can hook non fans to the show. It's evil, like brainwashing, but it's for a good cause.
I invited my mum to join BB, she said okay, but still didn't do it. Maybe I should have given her the address, there is no way she'll find it by herself.

Well, I'm atheist, we barely celebrate any holidays so it doesn't mean much to me, that made it easier saying that Buffy is my religion. You can tell your parents that there are many people like you in the world (Buffy fans), who are not crazy, sinners, or bad people. The fact that you like Buffy doesn't change who you are, it's just something that's important to you, it's not "just another television show". It shouldn't get in the way of your other beliefs. The fact that you believe in Buffy shouldn't matter, it shouldn't affect anything. I'm glad your mother is softening. She needs (everybody) to understand that it's an important part of your life, it's part of you, not a curse.
 
Christmas is always an amazing day for me. This year was no different! I hope everyone else from BB have had a good day, at the least! 🙂
 
Well, again on the Buffy DVD front. I have finished my collection. I offically own all seven seasons. This makes me very happy. You should have seen us in the shop. We went to JB-Hi Fi and they had a special of 30% off DVDs. We got Season Seven at one JB store and then we went to another one to see if there were the others. When we first looked (in the B section) there wasn't. But then we were walking away and my Mum caught a glimpse of the name Buffy and there they were. The ones I didn't have. Seasons 2, 3 and 4. Tiffany-Ella (my sister) and I started squealing right there and then we were so excited. Oh, and I got them for $20 each, that's a bargain 😀

I know. I think he was listening in when I had it playing on my laptop with my door open. I'm trying to figure out which episode to show it. Problem is, with him it wouldn't be one of the big ones. No way he would enjoy the Body on it's own, he's not a musical fan and he might get kind of 'restless' in Hush. That was such a lame joke. But I'm trying to find something. Now that I have all the DVDs I will.

Hmm...I know. My Mum's a great person really but the things she believes are kind of strange. I think she mostly accepts it because I make great arugments. I'm good at debating and I research. I researched Christianity in Buffy before I told her that I was into it and found some good stuff. Also, I'm at a really tough time in my life and she knows that it makes me laugh. So it's really helping me through and she sees that. I think she's partly worried because she doesn't know what I'm letting my little sister watch. But I take care of my sister and make sure she knows what's what. Besides, she's 12, not that young. 😀
 
Good morning 😀 I had a great evening las night with my little 10-year-old cousin. I introduced her to BtVS, and she *loved* it. We watched Welcome To the Hellmouth and The Harvest!

off topic but your mum doesn't like Buffy because she's a christian ? what is it that she has a problem with? I'm just wondering cos there are plenty of christians on this board. Is it the magic? cos I saw Jesus Camp and they had some issues with Harry Potter.
