Do you have any New Years resolutions? One's you'd like to keep, but KNOW you won't, or ones that you are all gung-ho about? Bringing in the New Year with a promise to yourself can be tricky. I've been trying to stop biting my nails for years now, and yet *sigh* no luck...I also want to stop some other *ahem* nasty habits of mine.

What're your New Year resolutions?

Well, mine is pretty broad. I will be making a resolution to get my life back on the fast track. For the last few years I've been out of school, so I've promised myself that by the end of next year, I'll be back in and doing my thing. I also want to have my budget in shape by next year this time and be back in shape. Also I want to finish the novel I've been working on FOREVER...I'm getting close. All of these are reasonable resolutions. Although if there IS one I won't stick to, it'll be the getting back in shape one...I'm never good with stuff like that 😀

Re:

WEll, I usually make the same New Years resolutions every year. Drop a few pounds, work out more, eat healthier, etc. And I usually stick to them....for a few days! lol. But this year I just told myself I was going to talk my boyfriend into letting me have a girlfriend and I'd be set for the year...lol KIDDING!!! Okay, okay. I know....shame, shame. But seriously, it'll probably be the same as last year...Lose 10 pounds, work out more, eat healthier....*SIGH* ::mmm::

Im thinking maybe this year is to save all the odd 2ps and 1ps but also £2 coins. I was reading a "real life" article when bored and a shopping addict said she saved every £2 she got for the January sales, I was just thinking it would be a good way to save money for uni.

I never make new years resolutions cause I know I won't keep them. Or once or twice I've made these really vague ones.. Like "things will be better this year" or "I'll do more important things".. hehe.. I don't know if I've ever kept them though cause I keep forgetting them...

Ive always made the resolution of stopping biting my nails, never kept it.. also once I said I was going to stop drinking alcohol aswel.. that didnt happen either. My friend made a new year resolution to give up chocolate and she did for a whole year!!

Mine is definitely to get back into the shape I was when I met my boyfriend a year and a half ago!!! I know I can do it, especially with the stress of school over. I'm so psyched up and I'm going to register myself for another marathon to get me working toward my goal. I just feel such a difference when I'm being healthy and exercising...it's as much a physical well-being as a mental one.

I'm gonna try to keep up with my schoolwork, I've been really lagging for the past couple years. Also, try to write better and start writing a novel that will hopefully be done by this year or next. And all the others, lose weight, eat better, work out.

Save money to go to Ireland is a big one. And I think i'm going to resolve to stop obsessing about a certain couple of lads...

Dont ever stop obsessing, it would make all the rest of us obsessees look bad.
Hmm.

My resolution:

I'm going to be nicer to the people that deserve it, either by action or association (Mrs. D, kids, friends, family) and not as nice to the people who don't. I find I'm needlessly polite to people who are acting like asses, and it seems to encourage them to act more like asses. So that's gonna stop.

You go girlfriend! (Well okay your male but shh). Annoying people who think they're great are so annoying, we have some customers like that at work. I just insult them once they're gone (so I can keep my job)

lmao. very well put. although that kinda reminds me one of those principals i live by ;)
I tried the whole cut back and drinking and stop swearing thing and thats just never happened.

This year I want to get financial stable, concentrate on my studies more and stop being lazy. To not let certain things and certain people have a role in controlling my life, and finally stand up to them and tell them exactly what I think of them and what they 'mean' to me.

Money, it's always about the money. I need money so the entire saving thing will lead to 2 good things, no more drinking and shopping until I've saved enough money to go to P something on the French side of the French/Spanish border, 'cause my friend is going there to study and I need to learn more French.

But on the other hand sin is a good thing so no need to feel compelled to do anything.

French / Spanish border really??? What town? Cause I'm there! *waves* lol
dedicate more time to school... have better grades..take my drivers licence..maybe with luck finnaly choosing a college and corse.. : confused

Hm, mire, I agree, or, that should be my new years resolution too... I just, can't promise myself to do that, I'll probably promise to try or something like that though... Cause good grades would be... kinda good..

Especially math! ;)
Wow, we've got a bucnh of troopers here! And I completely AGREE with you, KD. I am too nice to people who don't deserve it as well. Some people just need to straighten up and learn that no one is gonna take their bullsh-t anymore.

I have also made a pact with myself and my friend to STOP CUTTING...This time it's for real...but now that I have my best friend behind me all the way, I'm definately gonna make a change.

Hm, you mentioning being too nice to people.. Hm, I should probably try to be nicer to people.. When I'm tired I'm really annoying to be around. I yell at people when they don't understand me. Like people saying not entirely positive things about btvs or lotr... I should probably make a new years resolution to be more friendly and accepting, heh...

Big resolution : Getting more cultured (therefore smarter?) by reading one article a day about miscellaneous thing (politics, history, philosophy, cinema...) ... big challenge, don't know if I'll do that a long time, lol

Becoming less empathic, coz it's just too hard to manage... don't know how to work this one though

Getting wiser, & less crazy.... otherwise I'll really end up in a straight jacket... but I won't give up on Peter Pan though :love20:

like mire, more time for school (if it's possible... 😕 )

& like Faith, less lazy, & not letting ppl control my life
