Hi, all!
The name's my first ever internet handle from high school. It's kind of an inside joke and no longer even close to applicable, so don't worry; I don't bite... anymore.
I am new to the Buffy obsession. I never watched it when it was on. I'd seen the Luke Perry movie and that was enough. lol. Okay, I did see an episode here or there, but without context, I wasn't very impressed. Besides, one of those viewings was under extremely creepy circumstances. An ex showed me the end of Wrecked. I don't know what he was trying to accomplish, but whatever it was, it made me very uncomfortable. I was like, "Dude... you are creeping me out." Later, I caught glimpses of the episode in which Oz wolfs out and goes after Willow and of the infamous attempted rape in Seeing Red. These experiences didn't do much to convince me to watch, as I thought it was a show about boyfriends who try to kill or otherwise harm girlfriends.
Finally, last year, my friend sat me down and made me watch her Firefly DVDs. It may have been closer to two years ago, actually. This opened my mind to all things Joss Whedon. With the help of Netflix, I have now watched every single episode of Buffy and Angel. It's a sickness. A new DVD would come in, and my poor hubby would just roll his eyes and settle in for a lonely night while I cuddled up with my new love -- the DVD player. Alas, I'm finished, now. The show's been off the air forever, so it's not like there are many people with whom I can discuss it! Bad timing on my part.
Anyway, I'm here because I CRAVE Buffy and Angel discussion.
I hope to "meet" you all on the boards soon!
