Hey guys,
here I am to treat you to all of the beautiful entries we recieved for the Newsletter challenge that urged you to create something artistic around the themes of either Cordelia Chase or Winifred Burkle!
Most of you will already be familiar with the winner Jodast and his poem about Cordelia. But here it is on repeat anyway 🙂.
(Most of) The Life and Times of Cordelia Chase
What can we say about Cordelia Chase?
So much more than a beautiful face,
When first we met her,
She had very few fears,
And a passion for fashion,
Except clothes from Sears.
She clicked with Buffy,
Right from the off,
But not Willow or Xander,
At whom she would scoff
The latter she would ask,
Whenever she'd see
"Don't you have an elsewhere to be?"
This above line is well worth mention,
As it did not mask the sexual tension,
As the danger grew, there came more stress
And Cordy and Xander got in a mess
Hiding in closets just to steal kisses
Their passion spurned on
By death's near misses
Dating a loser and shunned by her friends
She put her skills to different ends
Fighting evil and helping the Scoobies
In tight-fitting sweaters
Displaying her firm yet supple tight embrace
Alas with Xander it wasn't meant to be
He broke the heart of our dear Queen C
When the IRS took all her money away
She looked to find fame down in LA.
With ne'er so much as a bit-part role
She hooked up with the vamp with a soul
It was only ever a part-time gig
Just until she made it big
Alas she never did get her break
All she got was a nasty headache
Before too long she could take no more,
Then a guy called Skip showed her a door,
Fame and fortune this way lie,
Cordy realised she'd rather die,
She turned her back on taking it steady
She said to Skip "Demonise me, already!"
It soon became clear with this new seeing
Cordelia was now a superior being
The Powers That Be brought her on high
But she got so bored she wanted to die
So the powers brought her back below
But who she was she did not know
Here endeth the story of wonderful Cor
Because I quite simply haven't seen any more. [/I]
