There's really no need to jump the gun, you guys. I'm not saying he doesn't have problems, but it doesn't have to turn into a tragedy (other than a personal one for him). Plenty of addicts live long, if troubled, lives.

Yeah but anyone would want a better quality of life than he is living right now. But you're right there is still the chance for him to turn it around, lets hope he can do it.

This is just an out of work actor with a drinking problem. He is one of many. Far from one of the biggest tragedies of our time.

Anyone but him apparently as he passed up attempts at help and made a mockery of it.

Him being an out of work actor doesn't make this anymore tragic, he's an human being at the end of the day.

Addiction is much more complex than you're making out. I do have a bit of experience with through a brother.

Wow. I had no idea addiction is complex. Thank you for sharing that with me. I can rest at ease that all those years of counseling and the meds I was on was for a purpose. Oh, thank you Mr Trick. I am glad you justified my decision to get help. It's even better knowing that I was tragic as well since I was a human being that had the same problems.

There are some real tragedies in the world and people addicted to substances they introduced into their body is not one of them.

Well if you know that its complex then way talk like its otherwise? To say that he doesn't want a better life seems to suggest that.

That's exactly it. Long, troubled lives are part and parcel of being an addict (for the most part) unfortunately. Even when you're in recovery and are sober, there's still issues and things to overcome, every single day. It's as simple as that.

My grandfather is an alcoholic and even his own doctor said to never quit completely cold turkey, as it can cause such a shock to the body after being so used to it for so many years.

Every addict I've know in my life, live a long time. They've mastered how to drink or drug just enough to keep functioning while not letting it overly affect their health, or cause too much attention from friends or family. That's the lifestyle.

As much as I think NB is an addict, he definitely seems to have self-destructive, attention-seeking issues that I think may be separate from his alcoholism - the alcohol just amplifies those issues more. He needs serious mental health counselling to realise what problems are causing the alcohol abuse before he can ever quit.

Not you :)
According to Nick's Facebook he plans on entering a 90 day treatment center. Glad to hear he realizes he has a problem; hopefully he completes the 90 days as well as getting further treatment once that is done.

@Mr. Pole yes, third time if memory serves me correctly. But one (maybe both) were 30 day stints. Hopefully the longer stint will be more helpful. Maybe that's wishful thinking though....

Is this the third time he's done it? I know he's been once, I thought there was a second time.
At least that answers the question about one of the mental health 'episodes' the police mentioned in the press release. I don't think it was a suicide attempt though. All the times I cut myself I was never looking to commit suicide; actually the opposite.

Absolutely disgraceful of them to release the video. By all means report that a video exists, has been seen and then encourage him to get help. Don't use something like that as shocking click bait though.

I said previously on this thread that his situation is very similar to someone I knew and that ended horrifically. Hopefully someone somehow will be able to help him before it's too late.

I didnt see anything wrong with the video at all. I didnt see much period. It looked like he was sitting down to have a smokey treat to me.

I didn't watch it. I don't think it's right for them to invite people to view what they've decided is an attempted suicide.
Well, I will say this, that if it was 'decided' by someone other than Radar Online that it was an attempted suicide then there should be some people losing their jobs as when the police were called they did not arrest him. If it was an attempted suicide they would not have just let him continue to go about his business only to arrest him 8 days later after choking his girlfriend.

A video was leaked today that I find egregious. As all of you know I am desperately battling depression and it is unfortunate that others capitalize off my struggles. I have up's and downs but I am still a human being. Suicide is a very very serious issue and not something to be highlighted publically or mocked for that matter. I am getting help and if you or anyone that you know is struggling please reach out for help and don't be ashamed to do so. Depression is real.

from his facebook.

At least now he is getting help.

You would think that the hotel (he was at a hotel right?) would be at risk for a lawsuit after a video like that is releases and described.

No press is bad press.. but sadly no one is mentioning the hotel.

Not necessarily; there are numerous ways that the video could be 'released' without the establishment getting any blowback.

Seems like it would be bad press for the hotel to release such footage, especially if he was in fact trying to kill himself.
Is it me, or we agree this guy just likes being in handcuffs?

Something is telling me his acting career is over. Maybe Lindsay Lohan can give him some advice .... (me bad)
