Ok, I watched the movie... It wasn't horrible. The writing was not great, and the soundtrack's score was really awful and cheap (it reminded me of Buffy S1, with all the synthesizers!), but it definitely wasn't a bad movie. Nick definitely made it watchable, and he played the sweet, kind-hearted guy so well. And Nick's smile gets better and better the older he gets. 😀
The movie is about a woman who comes home for Christmas with the intention of buying her parents' house only to find out they've already sold it to a man named Michael (played by Nick). The woman goes through everything she can think of to try to sabotage Michael's deal to buy the house, and you can probably guess the end of the story. 😛
The thing I thought was REALLY cheesy about the movie though is the fact that the title has to do with a "magical" dog. WTF.
