Source: POINT - COUNTER POINT: Nicholas Brendon; Buffy The Vampire Star Checks Into Rehab
Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Nicholas Brendon has checked into rehab.

Source says Nicholas suffered a blackout and doesn't remember fighting with police. The only thing he remembered was being tased, which he described to our source: "Being tased is like being punched in the side by Rocky Balboa, the pain is so bad it runs up your spine," he told the source.

Brendon, who played Xander on the popular TV vampire series, told a source "They realized who I was, but I didn't get any special treatment."

He was charged with felony vandalism and released on $20,000 bail. Recognizing he had a problem, the 38-year-old checked himself in the SOBA Recovery Center in Malibu.

"I'm feeling lucky because alcoholism effected my money management decisions and they are helping me," Nicholas told the source, adding that he feels "really grateful."

Brendon also told the source about another up side to the recovery program: "they have acting classes that focus on recovery."

Brendon is focusing on his recovery and his work on the hit CBS show Criminal Minds and two animated films.

I am so happy he's getting help. I was hoping that he would get his wake up call after that incident. Well, actually, it would have been much better if that incident with the cops had never happened at all, but everyone makes mistakes and I am just glad Nick realizes he made a big one.
I wish him all the best on his road to recovery.

I had heard that his drinking had been a problem, even back in the "Buffy" days, and I agree, it is good news that he is now attempting to deal with it. Hopefully, if his role is expanded in "Criminal Minds," which I haven't seen lately except in syndication, and he has other work as well, he will be able to focus more on his career rather than alcohol and drugs.

Good for him, getting help is admirable! I hope it'll work out for him

That's really good news. Although didn't he go to rehab before because of his drinking? I hope this time he gets the message and doesn't repeat his mistakes.
That's good though, i'm happy for him. 🙂

He did go to rehab before... He went in 2005, I believe...
I'm glad he's seeking help. Hope it sticks this time.

Yes, he did. I think it was in 2004.

I hope it's a real rehab program, and not one of those country clubs where celebrities go to escape the paparazzi until things blow over, and garner sympathy from the media because they're "getting help." A lot of celebrities have lost their careers, or their lives, because they used rehab as a cover-up rather than as a real source of help.

I hope this is different.

Those are pretty expensive though. I can't imagine he could really afford one of those :/

Oh i never actually thought about that. :/ This Nic going to rehab thing COULD be a lie. :/ Like Min said, they're expensive.

Source: EXCLUSIVE VIDEO INTERVIEW: Buffy The Vampire Slayer Star Talks Rehab; Remembers | RadarOnline.com
Jacqui posted this on Nick's Facebook wall:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Nicholas Brendon told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview, "I do remember waking up in handcuffs in the back of a police car."

EXCLUSIVE DOCUMENTS: Buffy The Vampire Slayer's Nicholas Brendon Tased & Arrested

Nicholas kicked his neighbor's door while looking for his dog on March 17. He was later arrested for felony vandalism. That night he admits he had blackouts from mixing sleeping pills with beer.

Police had to restrain him with a Taser. As RadarOnline.com first reported, he said it was like being punched by Rocky Balboa.

Brendon, who played Xander on the popular TV vampire series, said "when you wake up from your stupor and fog, it's a blessing to realize that did happen, that was bad, but you didn't kill anybody."

Brendon, who was in alcohol rehab once before in 2005, says "I knew at that moment when I realized that I was arrested, I needed to go get help again."

The day after the arrested, the 38-year-old checked himself in the SOBA Recovery Center in Malibu. Two months later, he is now living full-time in SOBA, a sober living community.

"I knew that I had to stop, I knew that I couldn't do it anymore. And there is a part of me that knows this is my last chance."

Brendon is focusing on his recovery and his work on the hit CBS show Criminal Minds and two animated films.
