Buffy Summers - Great questions! Is he as funny as he always seems? Hmmm... I'd say that yes, he's funny, but no, he's not especially joke-y, if that makes sense. You also have to keep in mind that we were all there to work, so the environment, though friendly and comfortable, is a work environment. Now, that's not to say that during down time, we all didn't chat and hang out, but it wasn't really a lot of, "Hey, now that we're all friends, let's recount funny stories and anecdotes," you know? But yes, I'd definitely say he's a cool, funny guy, and I would enjoy hanging out with him socially. But he's not always "on," which would likely be tiring for him, and maybe obnoxious to those around him, so I'd call that a good. 🙂
As for the character he's playing, without giving away too much, I'll say that the episode is titled "Nosy Neighbor," and so from that you can deduce that he's making his mark on a long-standing sitcom tradition. When we wrote the episode, we were inspired by nosy neighbors from "Bewitched," "Three's Company," "Small Wonder," etc. The great thing was watching him bring the character to life. We had him written, and so had an idea of what he was like, and then Nicky came in, sometimes fulfilling our expectations, sometimes defying them, but always knocking it out of the park!
