I don't know if anyone else has heard of this show. It debuted tonight on FX. The premise is two plastic surgeons are in a partnership together in Miami. One has a problem with his marriage, which is crumbling apart. He's afraid of his wife going into the same profession as him because of the nature of the business. The other has ethical problems which threaten to jeopardize the business, taking money from unsavory characters in order to perform operations on him.

The two leading men in the show are Dylan Walsh and Julian McMahon. Nip/Tuck is very graphic at the portrayal of the surgeries. There has been a lot of buzz surrounding this show, which has not been unusual for a summer show ever since the first Survivor. If anyone wants to know more about this show, click on the link below:

the story was cool...but the actors who play the characters don't have the charisma that the other fx dramas do...like michael chikilis in the shiel or john corbett in lucky....the shield and lucky are great shows...
 
Actually, I disagree. I watched parts of it (wasn't interesting enough to watch it all) and the plot and everything bored me...when it wasn't grossing me out. I think the acting was just fine. But what they had to work with wasn't that great.

I think FX was gunning for shock value too much with this one and not worrying about keeping people hooked for another episode.
 
its not the acting i'm talking about...lead characters for shows have to have an actor with charisma....both these dudes don't have it...
 
I think Julian has plenty of charisma 🙂 He was so great on Charmed and now on this, I think he's going to continue to be sucessful.

The show is great....LOL, definitely for mature people, but I'm liking the characters and plots.
 
I don't know, I think Julian is pretty good. Like him better as Cole though. HE-IS-SEXY!!!
 
I love Nip/Tuck. It's really awesome. And Julian doesn't go around throwing energy balls or any of that. 😛
 
I absolutely LOVe this show. Along with Angel and Buffy its probably one of my favorites.

The characters dont have the same charisma as the other FX actors, but i think that's a good thing. Because Nip/Tuck really ISNT like the other FX shows. Theyve got their own vibe.

And Julian is sexy. Funny that he's a total man whore though
 
i change my mind...nip tuck is a good show....that porn episode was open my eyes...
 
lol...nah...its not that they did a porn episode...but the episode was filled with such a rich story....

like how julian....the good doc (i think)....saw his biggotry and killed it....how he grew so much...

like how julian's wife fought for her son...that was some great writing...

and then you got the cautionary tale witht the julian's mentor...then one of the last scenes is the fufilling of the doc's prophecey...how emotionally distant he is toward his wife when she wanted to watch some porn and make some sweet love...that's some great writing!!

and then that's just the stuff i said...this episode made light of STD's...temptation....and desire....crazy writing and intricacies...
 
Soulgasm, you got the wrong guy! LOL. Dylan Walsh is the one with the wife and kids who faced up to his old mentor. Julian's character is the one going to the pron parties and Sexaholics Anonymous *lmao*

Appearances can be deciveing, though...I think it's interesting how the characters have come out....everything was billing Julian's character, Christian, as the "bad guy" and Dylan Walsh's character, Sean, as the "good guy," but Christian has come out so much more likeable....
 
There's hope for Christian yet!
(If he can stop his little addiction to the other guys wife!)
 
Actually, I'd rather have Julia w/ Christian *blush* It just seems like he's a lot better for her....he encouraged her to go back to medical school, etc, where Sean completely had said the wrong thing earlier, wether that was just a blunder or he's completely insensitive remains to be seen, maybe those two just need some serious marriage counseling.

I bet the writers are going to hook Christian up with Grace, though, which I wouldn't mind. They're just going to have at least one screaming match before they sleep together, LOL.
 
Probably. I would normaly hope for the same but having kids now I think of them first and it would suck for them. How confused would that little girl be? But, when you look at the show it's definately something they could go for reguardless. I'll admit that part of me would like to see Christian and Julia give in.
 
That would be pretty spiffy. Correct me if im wrong, but the daughter has only been in two episodes hasnt she? Maybe even just the first one.

The net episode is bound to be extremely interesting.
 
lol tru faith...i only saw one ep...not all the names are cemented yet...

didn't julia yell at christian...how would they end up hooking up...
