Oh, no...I think they're gonna kill her off...look at the title of the arc and what the summary is...well...I hope that it's not true especially since anyone can edit it...

If they are going to do that I'm through with BtVS, unless they do it in a Faith way.
 
Nah, they can't kill her off. Well, never say never. I just don't understand all the teasers and clues we're getting. The timing, and the locations. She'll apparently be with Buffy in England right off the bat. But it's been stated by Scott Allie that she had been at the Cleveland Hellmouth (is that not correct?). Is the Cleveland stuff gonna be told in flashback? Is Giles sending her back to Cleveland? Is there some alternate reality stuff going on?

I have no idea but after thinking she's gonna die I'm all sad...lol.
I dont' think they're gonna kill Faith off. I mean if they are planning on killing her I doubt they'll do it this early in the season

I guess you're both right, but it is the Buffyverse. You never know. But to change the subject: It's good FINALLY seeing an alternate cover and being able to refer to the arc by it's real name. Has anyone calculated how many months/years it would take for season eight to finish it's run? I want a season nine...
 
He said something about they're up to like 50 issues right now which is about 4 years and 2 months, since the comics come out every month. And actually a little bit longer since they seem to be skipping a month after certain issues are released. So I believe if it's going 4 years this will probably be the only season.
 
I swear I would literally live in denial of faiths death for the rest of life as i dont think i could live with the pain
 
Fishing for more clues. This is lifted from someone on the Dark Horse site's Buffy board:

A recent interview with Buffy cover artist Jo Chen in the offical BtVs/Angel Magazine which ends this month, revealed that the arc will feature Faith taking her own father to the 'Enchantment Under the Sea' dance during a trip to 1955, which promises to elate readers.

A reference to Back to the Future. A joke, it would seem. But the arc is called No Future for You...

Maybe it references her dad after she goes back to '95. Yet another theory...
 
I would like to see more Buffy/Faith interaction, not just an arc for Buffy, then one for Faith. The two Slayers were forging a strong friendship back in the early days, and I would like to see a return to it. They made a good team, and they should be back together in some capacity, maybe for special crises (?), crises-es (?), especially dangerous adventures. I always liked the Chosen Two together, and they seemed to be re-establishing that bond toward the end of Season 7.

I'm thinking the Georges Jeanty cover for #6 kinda points to them coming together in some way but who knows, we'll have to wait until it's released. That would be cool though, Buffy/Faith is something I'm definitely looking forward to this season. ('this season' I never thought I'd use that again!)

You know, at the start when Faith is up on the statue? Is that the Rock n Roll hall of fame? That's in Cleveland, right?
 
I don't see Faith getting killed off, at least not permanently. First, while sidekick main characters often do get killed in Whendonverse, Faith is not really a sidekick and I don't think anyone of her stature and type has ever died and stayed dead. Second, she's too cool to die. Characters that tend to die are likelier to be nice guys, like Wash and Shepard in Serenity, Tara in BtVS, Cordelia and Wesley in Angel, for example.

I did a little hunting for art deco in Cleveland and...voilà . Very cool. It's kinda cute that she's got one of those Batman grappling hook things. I liked when Angel used to use those a bit.

I love that 1st panel with Faith when she's blowing the smoke out her nose...good likeness.
 
#6 Preview - f***ed up!

Wow, house full of kids turned into vamps, I believe the only time we ever saw something like it was when Holtz killed her daughter. I mean, this scene would have been pretty cool on TV & Faith having to cope with killing the children. Anyway, thought it was a great idea. What do you think?
 
Am I the only one who thinks it's a bit strange that Wood would stop in what was obviously the heat of battle to call Faith? I mean, it's not like a "Help, we're getting wiped out here, send us reinforcements!" type of call, it's more of a, "This is a problem we won't be able to handle, so I thought maybe I'd be better off letting you in on it." sort of thing, and are those SADDLE BAGS hanging off of his shoulder? (Maybe if he's good, Santa'll bring him a pony to go with them for Christmas)
 
Hey, one of the talkbackers at whedonesque was saying that #6 doesn't get to the comic shops till Thursday in the States, cos of the Labor Day holiday. True?
 
I was reading that too, and wondering the same thing. I don't know. I guess we'll find out for sure tomorrow.
