I wondered if any of you Brits caught this ITV2 comedy.

It has just finished and I have to say its the funniest thing I have seen since The Office.

I love the premise. A bunch of Super Heros who sit in a pub and discuss life.

Well for all you peoples in foreign shores, youtube has all the episodes SO I will link you to the first episode.

I tried to have a favourite but ALL the lead characters are great - which is odd for a show.

So, who has bets that within 2 years there is an American remake of inferior quality BUT at least its first series will be 24 episodes long?

Note it is only 20ish minutes long

It's ok, it looks pretty funny, I like all the actors they have as the leads, the dude from The Book Group is my favourite already though, he's all mental 'cause he sees into the future by 60 seconds, that's funny.
 
Well, you never know...I feel that the American version of "The Office" far surpassed the original. And I'm someone who LOVES British comedy and tries to watch a lot of it.

But anyways, I've been seeing this show's name on various TV-related websites and had wondered what it was. I'll watch it.

Totally agree on The Office...the British version was great, but when it was at its peak, I definitely thought the US version was superior.
Hmmm...I so cannot watch the US Office, but I love the UK one, so...

Anyway, caught the first episode of this and thought it was highlarious...I love "The Hotness" 😀

i did watch it and loved it (hope for another series of it)


all are great characters so im with BotD on favs but maybe electroclash (the whole dead car battery thing was so funny) but she-force trying to be a temp and live a normal life was great too, very buffy-esque... and she was too strong all the time.

The US Office has its moments but it is still a pale comparison of the original.
The best episodes of the UK Office are better than the US Office.
The difference is that the US has more episodes. Quantity does not quality make.
There isn't a single bad episode of the UK Office, where as the US Office has quite a few. The brilliance of the UK Office is that it stopped on a high.

As for No Heroics, I recommend you watch it ASAP.

See it really is a matter of everytime I want to pick one character another does something brilliant.

The Hotness on the Bus to Putney
Timebomb and the Therapy session
She-Force and the prison inmate
Electroclash and the Convenience store

I love the show.

Ohh and I love Ladytrouble!!!
 
She-Force and the prison inmate!!!! OMG! How good was Mark Heap as the inmate... and creepy

okay all those are good really... the hotness with those teenagers on the bus! (i love his opening each ep.... microwaving with his hand DING!)

the geeky convention over Ladytrouble was too good! those two arguing over their split was sooo funny (and again the creepy geeks)
 
I thought I was the only one watching this show 🙂 Loved it to pieces btw.

Thanks for pointing this thing out to us, it's great! And it's convenient that the episodes are quite short, so you can watch them anytime you want. More or less.
Also, The Hotness, he's Nathan Barley, right? ^^
 
yep and he is great... did you see him in 'man stroke woman' too?

nicholas burns i think hes called... or am i making that up because he's called the hotness im not sure
 
Yup 6 episodes running at around 24 minutes each. AND it is hilarious.
I have watched the series twice already!!!


Ohh and Shemps, you are indeed correct, he is Nicholas Burns. He is really funny. Yes I saw him in Man Stroke Woman, loved that, and I recently saw him on stage in 'Fat Pig' which was brilliant!!!
 
I think it is Burns ^^ I've heard of man stroke woman, but I've never seen a full episode. Some sketches off youtube, you know. I just realised, he also plays a small role in one Mighty Boosh episode, he's cool. But I think my favourite out of this series is that guy that sees 60 seconds into the future, I would like to be able to do that, while I don't care much about talking to electronical devices. But maybe, setting things on fire would be cool too 😛

BTW, speaking of not so very mainstream british comedy, does any of you British people know when we the third season of the IT crowd starts (or started)? I know they're (or were) working on it, but the channel4 site is not very clear at all, wikipedia doesn't say anything, same with yahoo questions or imdb. Dates I've read so far range from early October to somewhere in November. There's nothing on youtube yet ^^ Cheers!
(I guessed it was not important enough to make a new thread for this. Maybe it is, I don't know 😛)

Oh my, I love the IT Crowd. I didn't know they were making a series three.

The one thing I hate about British TV is the fact that they don't ever follow times. One year a show will be on in Feb the next June then it will take a full year for another series to even start being made.

yeah tis very annoying like i think there was 2 years between series 1 and 2 of greenwing... and they dont seem very forthright about making a new series... i know you can dig around and find out, but with american tv they are very clear about when things are back on... cause they want viewers, here like a week before they advertise the show
 
The dutch are the same, that is, when it comes to things you want to see. Stupid Dutch actionthriller/detective/who-killed-the-farmer kind of things are always advertised weeeeks in advance, but I only found out that the fourth season of House started a couple of days before it actually did. Very annoying. But yeah, I've beenw aiting for the new IT crowd since I heard they started filming, but nothing yet. At first I was a bit sad when I heard i would be a Richmond-less season, cos of Noel Fielding being busy preparing the Boosh tour and everything, but now I don't mind anymore, cos I just want it to start. Luckily there's this series now to discover to easy the waiting ^^ (to stay just a little on topic xD)
