I'm assuming by now everyone has had a chance to read 8.06. If not, read no farther. Get out there complain to wherever you're getting the comics from, then get it, read it, and come back here to post your thoughts on what you think will happen in 8.07. 😉

OK so the Faith arc has begun and it's a winner.

Will Faith kill again? Won't that be a bad thing even if it is a sanctioned assasination?

Can she pull off an impersonation of the upper crust?

This Lady Genevieve Savidge is a great character. What's her story? What does she want? What does she consider "hers"?

Will she sniff out Faith right away with her slayer sensing ability? How tough is she really? She can kill an undercover slayer with one swat, but she hasn't met Faith yet.

What's the connection with this Irish Warlock, Roden, and The Twilight? How are they hoping to use Lady G?

Are we ever going to find out for sure who gave Buffy the cinnamon flavored kiss? Xander's training with Renee, and getting closer to Buffy. Make up your mind guy.

I wanna see the Great Bearded Wizard of North Hampton. 🙂

I don't think Faith will do it, I don't think she will be able to kill her. But what the hell is Giles thinking putting her in that situation?!?

If this mission is assigned to Faith, why does buffy show up, does anyone else think maybe Buffy will end up killer Lady G?

Do you think this will be Faiths last storyline, she's been told she will be able to give it all up after this mission?

Uh...how do you know Buffy will show up? You're talking about those promo covers for future eps, right? It clearly says non-spoiler in the thread title.

Do we consider that kind of thing a spoiler? If you don't I'll post the covers for # 7. The cover does not always spoil what's inside. Sometimes what's in the cover, isn't in the comic. Also, is it a teaser, or a spoiler?

And, personally, no I don't think this will be Faith's last mission ever. She's too popular a character. They could always kill her I guess, but even then, that's no guarantee in the Buffyverse she won't be back.

i can't see Faith giving up the Slaying thing...she tried that by going to prison, but Wes was able to convince her to break out. Ok, yes, it was Angelus, and so, you know, big importance, but i think that Slaying is too much of who Faith is. she'll never be able to be a 'regular girl'.

i think Giles went to Faith becuase he didn't think he had any other choice. Buffy's never gonna be able to kill another human, never mind a Slayer. i think Giles felt that, as Faith's been there before, it won't be a problem for her to go after a human. i'm wondering if Faith will have some crisis of conscionous(sp?) and not kill the Slayer. maybe she'll decide the girl's too much like her and try for rehab.

conscience is what you meant though you tried to spell consciousness - TALK TO ME!!!!!!!!!!
i don't think faith would give up the slaying. if she gave up the only good she's ever done then where would that leave her? i think it would just spiral her into another mental break. she could never stay in retirement.

as for killing her off? i'll die as well. but i'm thinking joss won't go that route either.

i'm still unsure whether lady G is totally evil. i've been through too many twists and turns in the jossverse to even consider jumping to anything yet. and as for spotting faith out, she really doesn't look like upper class english SO it may be pretty easy.

and does anyone remember her english accent in five by five? HAH! i keep imagining that at the 'fancy dress party'

I think Faith might be able to kill again granted no kill some random person or innocent like she did in the past, but I mean I think at the end of the day she'll do whatever it takes to get the job done, kind of like what Giles did when he killed Ben to get rid of Glory and he was also willing to kill Dawn to save the world, and who knows if Giles killed anybody in his past. But yeah I think if it had to come to it then Faith would kill again

I have a feeling that "Faith" will be dead. By that I mean chancing her name and starting a new life. Telling the scoobs dont look for her

I haven't read the stories, I don't really know what is happening, only what is on these boards, but I do know Faith from all her time on Buffy and Angel.

I would think that in a case where she had to find a rogue slayer, she would definitely 'pull an Angel'.

Faith would go with the intent to do what must be done, but after everything she has been through, it seems obvious that at the last moment, Faith would try to 'save' someone as it essence it would be her saving herself.

I'm kind of starting to like Lady G. I'm almost hoping they don't kill her off. If they do though, I hope it's not Faith who does it. There's something about that that just doesn't sit right. I'm at least hoping Faith will have a struggle of conscience over doing the deed. Buffy should turn up with Dana. I could forgive Dana easier for killing again.

Hey, you know what would make up a terrible trinity of slayers? Faith, Lady G, and Dana. If only there was a way to add Melaka Fray.

Roden interests me too. Will Giles be able to handle a warlock, or we will he have to call in the big guns in Willow?

I'm thinkin the Irish warlock's getting iced at some point. By whom, don't know. Another Willow showdown could be cool.

i think that they way her disrespected witches as ugly old hags makes a showdown with the beautiful Willow pretty likely. I don't think there is much hope for Lady G. - i mean she's killing for sport, even if she has been promiced something big and the wizard is pulling the strings, as seems to be the case. i agree that the covers can be misleading but i do think it is highly possible that Buffy will show up, mainly because if Lady G is after 'power' then it would seem likely that she would have to confront the top banana of Slayers.

It hardly seems a like a fight if Willow is called in though. I think it's more interesting if Giles takes him on.

I expect Buffy to turn up too, irregardless of the covers. It just seems like the natural way to go. It is called Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

On the Faith-struggle of conscience thing. There's something there. I'm almost sure of it.

In the discussion thread BEG made a fascinating point. When Faith comes home from slaying the vampire kids we see holes in the wall.

In the next panel we see how they got there. She's being forced to do things she doesn't like doing.

Later we see how the new slayer organization has her thinking of herself.

She wants out. She's trying to get a fake passport. She's willing to agree to kill someone to get out.

So if this crisis of conscience exists (and I say it does), it has to be resolved. I don't think the resolution lies in Faith simply assassinating Lady G. There has to be more to it.

oh wow that makes so much sense nerd4hire! yeah it seems obvious that she wants out now.

i love that ac/dc line so much.

Oh and here's another one. Let's suppose this arc is about the resolution of Faith's inner demons.

Lately we've been hearing about Faith's inner lesbian. In the last issue they make a point of telling us Faith doesn't see herself as she says "going downtown" with girls. However does it end there? Would they make a point of bringing it up if they weren't going to get into it?

OK so as I hear it from people who are into it, the proposed gay Faith subtext, has to do with Buffy and Faith. So if Faith has a slayer thing she's going to be meeting one soon who might have more in common with her than Buffy did. I wonder...

HAHAH faith's inner lesbian. that's funny. i hope we deal with faith's inner anything really. i really wanna see some depth about her past since there's hardly anything to go on.

ahhh i'm gonan erase this next paragraph cause it's kinda spoilery.. i'll move it to the other thread haha.

First off, I think this whole arc is going to be a takeoff/copy of/ ripoff of (take your pick) a very excellent short story by Richard Connell called "The Most Dangerous Game," which is available on the internet if anyone is interested and hasn't read it.

I think Faith will get right to the point of killing Savidge, but will stop before she kills once again (she's going to be telling Giles throughout his training her that she isn't going to be the Council's assassin, but will be forced into "the game" anyway).

Ultimately, Giles will reveal that he picked Faith for this mission because he knew that she would be the one Slayer he was certain would NOT kill Savidge (the Council wants to take her alive and "care for her" similarly to the way they do Dana).

If Buffy actually does show up in this arc, it will be either in a dream sequence or after the actual arc has run through, and they will be discussing what Faith has learned from the assignment (this is just my personal hope here, not a prediction, but at the end, Buffy will offer Faith a job back at Slayer Central, whether she takes it or not).

I was also thinking that she'd get to the point of killing GiGi, then decide not to. Giles would be expecting this, and it's all some kind of test.
Hope not though, would be a little done.
I don't want Faith to kill again if she can avoid it, but I'd rather not see Giles with hidden "well meaning" motives again.
Not sure about why GiGi is or would be concerned with ending the world. Giles doesn't say it's her intention, but if it's not hers then why would the 'twilight's want to end the world? I need motives damnit! Not just cause they're evil. Anyone else notice the actual twilight that is shown at the beginning of issue#1.. just noticed that.
