The episode was grand. . . and I've always kind of wondered what the other "reality" or the world with normal, non-slayer Buffy'd be like.

It'd be interesting, that's for sure.

I finally got to see the movie Donnie Darko on the weekend, after hearing about it for I think maybe years.

It reminded me of Normal Again in that the ending is left open for interpretation.

In fact I did a little internet searching to see if there were message boards where people hashed over the ending, and offered different theories on what the ending really meant. You know? The way we do with Normal Again. There sure were.

I've come to a conclusion. Some people like stuff like this. Some people don't.

Well I liked Normal Again and I liked Donnie Darko. Things being left open to interpretation is really quite awesome ever so often. However I hated Mullholland Drive.

Also in Normal Again did anyone notice how once again its a vampire out to save Buffy by getting the demon? Earshot and Normal Again. Okay not really worth a mention but I found it to be cute.

I loved Mulholland Drive (and Donnie Darko and Normal Again).. But I don't think Mulholland Drive is the same as the others.. That one's way more difficult to get.. In Donnie Darko almost everything is explained if you watch it enough times and think about it.. And with Normal Again.. There are really only two or three options, you just have to chose what to believe (well, of course you can come up with different theories, but you can do that with everything).. Mulholland Drive is a great movie.. But even though the dvd includes "10 clues to solve Mulholland Drive" (or something like that) I can't understand what a lot of it means, I can have throries.. But none of them more likely than the others..

Normal again

I think we have the chance to think what we want some people will keep the idea that Buffy is crazy, But I find personally that Buffy is not crazy because I prefer to stay with the long great story of Buffy the vampire slayer.
So For me Buffy is NOT CRAZY!!!!!!!

I loved this ep too, but why would buffy create an escape to a place where she wasn't happy, i mans shes never liked being the slayer really, or has she? who knows, maybe when she moaned it was because of all the pressure, i mean we saw in helpless that she would miss her slayer powers

I thought this episode was really good, but it was sad when she was tying her friends up to block them out, and i liked the ending although it did at first bug me for a while 'cause i like to know endings instead of guessing them!

This episode really facinates me, I just can't get me head around it. Crazy Buffy just makes so much more sense then Vampire Slaying Buffy, then again, when buffy died in "loony world" she didn't die in "slaying world" so maybe Slayer Buffy IS the real Buffy!

This kind of thing happens with schizophrenics. Their psychotic episodes are both wonderful and horrible. I'll recommend you a couple of books - The Eden Express by Mark Vonnegut, and I Never Promised You a Rose Garden. Read them, and I think you'll see BTVS contains exactly the kind of pyschotic episodes a schizophrenic would have.

Why am I not surprised that you've read "Eden Express"? I bought it cheap from a remaindered book shop ('cos I'm a Kurt Vonnegut fan) and was blown away...must dig it out and re-read.

Her mind didn't so much create a place where she wasn't happy, but a reality where her mother was still alive, her parents were still together and all the demons and monsters were just figments. Joyce's death affected Buffy more than a lot of people realize. She's still dealing with it well into the seventh season.

I was under the impression that when Buffy died in the Slayer world, she awoke and was functional in the "real" world.
