Which do you prefer out of the 2 as the last episode? I voted Not Fade Away. I found the build up to the finale featured far better episodes than the build up in S7 of Buffy. I actually rate Not Fade Away as my number #1 episode of Angel because I fought it was a perfect end to a perfect show. I think I have a few episodes I would put over it but it just felt right being number #1 as it's the end. However if I were to rank Chosen I reckon we would be looking at late #20 something.

Same. Not Fade Away is the best season finale on Angel. While Chosen couldn't get close to Becoming P2, The Gift, Restless and Graduation P2... Sure the last like... 15-20 minutes were pretty epic, but if I compare them as SERIES finales, NFA is better for me personaly.

Hmm, not actually a massive fan of either. I went with Not Fade Away - it loses a lot of points for having our main hero turn into a douchebag (if they were going to have everyone die at the end, I wanted them all to die as heroes) but it does contain some splendid writing, and touched me much deeper than Chosen.

I'm the opposite- I really like both, so I can't vote. They were so different. Wow, the first of Lilah's polls that I'm choosing to abstain from....

I went with Chosen. I do like NFA, but I cared more about what happened on BtVS and to the Buffy characters. What I do really like about NFA is the ambiguity of the final scene - not knowing whether they live or die (discounting the comics). Makes for lots of great possibilities for fanon.

Agree about the ambiguity making it an awesome finale.

I agree with this. Chosen as an entire episode is good, great even, but not amazing. There are 15 minutes of the ep that I love and adore with a fervor but as a whole... meh...

Not fade away I love a bit more intensely partly cause of the character arcs, it felt like tying up loose ends for them all where as in Chosen it fell a little to the side for other stuff... oh and the aforementioned ambiguous ending of NFA I adore

NFA has plenty of issues, mostly caused by the hasty setup in the previous episodes and the silly and pointless way Wesley gets killed but I flove the final scene and the idea it represents.

Chosen on the other hand is pure crap from start to finish. Terrible message (ordinary humans are useless, the only Potentials can help is by being powered-up) and dreadfully bad execution. Two dei ex machina in one episode is something I haven't seen anywhere else.

I went with "Chosen". I love how it leaves Buffy's future so open-ended and it's such a happy, optimistic look on her face. Of course I was sad about Spike and Anya, but overall, I thought the episode was absolutely amazing.

I can't choose too. They're both either good or bad in equal.

Chosen:
Good - Powerful. Female empowerment. Faith. Summers sis' family moments.
Bad - A little cheesy. Not so fun to watch till the last 15 minutes. Lack of friendship and full of ships.

Not Fade Away:
Good - The meaning of being heroes. Focusing on the theme of the show "Never stop fighting". Illyria's punching. Friendship.
Bad - Randomness of the Circle of the Black Thorn. Randomness of Lorne's last scene. Randomness of Hamilton when he easily tells Angel the power is in his blood.

If I have to, I'd choose Chosen because Buffy and Faith ended up together. 😛

The prelude to the ending was more eventful in "Not Fade Away", but at least in "Chosen" you got to see the end battle full through. You weren't left wondering, sitting on your couch, spilling your popcorn while you scream at the television "You have GOT to be friggin' KIDDING ME!" Yeah. My vote goes with "Chosen". Because I want to see how it ends. 😉

LMAO, yeah, I was right there with you! But that's what made it soooo good. :cool2:

Nooooo! Closure dammit! Must. have. closure. Lol.
Not Fade Away. I absolutely love Chosen but it just didnt have the extra umph that made Not Fade Away so brilliant. Chosen was like just your average finale.

This is a trick question. You cant really compare the two. At the end of Chosen you still had Angel to look forward to, so it didnt really feel like an end, per se. But at the end of Not Fade Away, that was it. No more Buffy/Angelverse anymore. NFA seemed more final, and sad, for that reason.

True, very true. But NFA didn't seem finished to me at all. You never knew if they all died or succeeded in their task. True, not very likely...but a girls just got to have closure sometimes. I was left wanting more. Of course that was probably their intentions....BUT I DONT CARE, darn it! Gimme gimme! Show me the action.
