This is a tough question. Chosen had the Big battle, the Spuffy moment of the I love you, It was a tearjerker because it made me cry. It was just a great idea to have that many slayers and I'm a sucker for a big battle, but Not Fade Away Made me cry as well and it had a few battles but I hate the fact that they lost pretty much all of the characters and that it ended on a cliffhanger. Although I'm not quite as upset about it as I was. They are both fantastic episodes so I can't choose.

You never knew if they all died or succeeded in their task.

As much as you are into self gratification, what with writing fan fics I mean, I would have thought that ending would have appealed to you.

You would think, but no. Surprisingly it ticked me off. Lol.
It's so hard too choose!

But if I had to, I guess Not Fade Away. Although, in reality, they're tied to me 😛

I prefer the finale episode "Chosen" over "Not Fade Away," for several reasons. Above and beyond all else, I DESPISE cliffhangers as season finales. They're bad enough as a lead in to the next season, but ending a series like that is, in my opinion, nothing short of sadism on the part of the writers. (And while we're on that subject, the bail out in the alley that resulted in "After The Fall" was about as lame as anything I've ever seen, but it does illustrate perfectly that Joss painted himself into a corner with the finale of "Angel," and didn't leave himself a decent escape. Then, when "ATF" became reality, he just plain couldn't figure a way out without a massive Deus Ex Machina)

"Chosen" ended on a note of hope. The load was off of Buffy's back, she could begin, as Faith said, "living like a normal person," the hellmouth had been closed (someone else could take care of Cleveland) Buffy had finally admitted to herself that she COULD actually love someone besides Angel. She and Faith seemed to have at last come to some sort of understanding, and showed, at least to me, signs of moving toward becoming real friends. No, it didn't end perfectly. People who we had come to know and appreciate were dead, exactly the way that always happens in a war, but we knew that their deaths most certainly were not in vain. The enemy had been defeated and the world was once more safe. The final scene was of something that we so rarely ever saw in the entire 7 years of the show. Buffy actually smiled.

I'm gonna cry reading your post about Chosen.
I voted Not Fade Away. Chosen is good too, but Not Fade Away had more deaths, and I always approve of more deaths. Plus the idea of them continuing on the fight after the screen went black just summed up the series so well.

Sooo morbid of you! :)
Chosen, I love season 7 and it ended great, except for Anya's death. But I liked how Spike died as a hero at the end.

Not Fade Away. Probably my favourite season/series finale ever. Chosen was good, but not really anything special imo.

As an episode I prefer Not fade away. Not giving it a "real" ending fitted the show. The fight never stops. I do love how Chosen ends. How could you not, with a smiling Buffy.

Oh, it's a tie and I haven't voted yet. 😀

oh wow... I was the tie breaker. I went with Chosen. I get that the point of NFA was that they kept fighting not if they won or lost... but I liked the fact we got closure with Chosen that we didn't get with NFA. Plus, I like Buffy better than Angel... soooo

Definitely Chosen. The ending of Not Fade Away was just too rushed IMO. The first time I watched it, I was like huh?! I just would've liked more closure with it being the end of the series.

It is very hard for me to choose! I voted Not Fade Away because I've always said that Not Fade Away was one of my favorite Angel episodes, while Chosen has never been one of my Buffy ones. However, Chosen is so epic, full of girl-power and not to mention has some fun inside jokes for the fans. On the other hand, Angel is epic, kick-butt, heartbreaking, and has my favorite season final ending of all time! I can watch the end scene of it over and over, I just love the epicness so much 😀 "I kinda want to slay the dragon", "Let's go to work." !!
