Not Fade Away- Why not call the Slayers?

In the last thirty or so seconds we see an army charging toward our heroes, but it doesn't appear to be thousands. Why not call upon some of the Slayers? They didn't matter much in my opinion in Chosen because it wasn't much of an Apocalypse. They could have helped here, right? This was "the" apocalypse, after all.
There are hundreds of Slayers, even a small amount of them would have been a good addition to a half-dead human, two vamps, and Illyria.
Angel stepped in and helped in Buffy's final battle, or at least the delivery of the amulet, so why not have her help him?
Thoughts?
 
Well, aside from the fact that it just wouldn't have made a good last episode, I'd say tactics come into it a little bit. Angel was trying to join the Circle of the Black Thorn and needed to appear evil as long as possible. Wolfram & Hart, with all it's eyes and ears everywhere, might have caught on to Angel's little attack if an army of Slayers were to show up just before Angel attempted to join the Circle. That aside, if Angel and his men were to fail, the Slayers were still there to protect the world. If all of them were to die, the bad guys pretty much just win.
 
Andrew and Giles had both told Angel that the Slayers didn't trust him and wouldn't help him as long as he was working for W&H. We don't know how Buffy felt about it, but Angel couldn't have gotten in touch with her anyway... he thought she was in Rome partying with the Immortal, but that was a fake Buffy and Angel didn't know where the real one was.

If he wasn't so useless with technology, he probably could have just called her on her cell. Oh well.

It is Angel's show. By calling the Slayers, it would become a vampire slayer show, and maybe take the attention away from Angel. Also we've already seen in "damage" that the Slayers didn't even trust Angel, because he was working for W&H, so why would they come an help him? Even if he was explaining why they should help, the Senior Partners would have found out. That's why Angel only told about his plan when he used the spell.

Angel knew that it couldnt of been stopped... he more or less was trying to make a point being that they arent gunna get walked on and that they arent so small after all by showing the senior partners that they can beat their game.
 
I'm not sure Angel expected quite the epic apocolypse they got... Plus, wasn't it really just the few of them being thrown into a alternate LA dimension, with the rest of LA in perfect bliss. Why bring the slayers into that?
 
I would have rather seen something like this:

1. Illyria is not weakened down and still has her ability to open portals to other dimensions.
2. They use the tatooes Lindsay used that hid him from the Sr Partners, only they cover Angel in them instead.
3. Spike, Illyria, and the rest go through the portal to fight the Sr. Partners and their army, posing a threat to the Sr. Partners and drawing their attention. They have their big and epic battle against the army.
4. Meanwhile, Angel has been armed with some spell or weapon capable of fighting the Sr. Partners. Probably uncovered by Illyria or Wesley (I was thinking something in the Well where Illyria was sleeping with all the other ancient powers). Hidden from their view by the tats, and attacking them from behind while their concentration is drawn by Illyria and Spike (the obvious threats in Angel's group), Angel manages to basically assassinate the Wolf, Ram, and Hart.
5. An interesting way to wrap things up from there would have been to have the Powers above offer Angel his humanity as fulfillment of the Prophecy. An even more interesting way to end things would be for Angel to then decide to pass it up, and tell them to offer Spike instead, who unknowing that it was first offered to Angel, accepts thinking he earned it for his role in all this (which, to a lesser degree, he has). Angel then takes the rest of his team (those that survived), and goes back to running Angel Investigations or maybe starting a new firm (or returning to WR&H, but starting it as a force for good, which is what he'd hoped to do anyways) and continuing to do what he wanted all along - fight the good fight, and help the helpless.

They could have still killed a bunch of people, but the show would have ended on way less of a down note.
 
Angel didn't try to get in touch with the Slayers probably because the only way that he had of doing so would have been through Giles, who had already refused to put him in touch with Willow. Almost certainly, it was GILES who didn't trust Angel, not Buffy, who, isolated in her Scottish castle, was almost certainly completely oblivious to any of the goings on in Los Angeles.
 
Well, in Damage, Andrew/Giles/Buffy(not sure how much Buffy knew) explained that Angel c/o were the bad guys. So calling people who cleary don't trust you and might hang up on you (like Giles did when they asked for help for Fred) and ask for help when a dragon and a demon army is running towards you, seems like a waste of time.

Unless you mean that Angel should have called while he was making the plans. I'm thinking that even if he could have gotten a few slayer to help, bringing in new people to fight, when the plan they're going to do fulfil is risky and secretive and demands trust, seems like a bad idea. Even if it was Faith and Buffy, Angel might have felt unsure how they would fit into the group.
 
Well Buffy and Co. didn't trust Angel anymore 🙄 but that might have changed if he filled them in. I'm glad they didn't do that though. It was Angel Investigations time to shine. Also as Silum said, they probably weren't expecting such a battle. I kinda laughed at the guys on horses because I wasn't expecting it.
