Hey all

I'm Ben, thought I'd register here. I've loved Buffy for the past seven years or so - I've got a lot of happy memories tied up with it and my childhood, which got me back into it a few years ago, and then subsequently Angel. My favourite seasons of Buffy are the Highschool years, although I enjoy them all a lot.

Currently I'm doing the ol' 'Buffy Marathon', watching every episode of every season in sequential order with a bit of Angel thrown in. Currently I'm up to Season Six of Buffy (stalled there) and am on Season Five of Angel so I'm more in an Angely-mood at the moment.

I chose Wesley because I love his character development over the five seasons of Angel. That and his pratfall in 'Spin the Bottle' is the funniest I have ever seen :iamwithst :lmao:

Outisde of Buffy and Angel I enjoy creating and performing magic (the kind without the spells and all that), writing plays and music.

That's me!

Welcome, Ben! Watch that door jamb! It'll get you every time!
It's far too early on a Sunday morning for you to be joining this website.

You should be sleeping off a hangover or trying to rid yourself of that unwanted lay from last night.

Anywho, welcome to Buffy-Boards and I hope to enjoy your future comments, though looking on past experience, i'm probably going to find your comments pretty silly and pointless and ridicule you...but maybe not🙂

So, you say you've watched Buffy for 7 years, is Wes your favourite character or do you have another?
Whats been your favourite arc?

Please, feel free to ask me any questions too.

:hihi: Nah last night was a quiet one really... it's been one of those weeks. Just spent it with some mates who are moving away soon.

Indeed I have; I would say that Wesley is my favourite character, although more so in Angel where he became a more three-dimensional character.

When it comes to Buffy it's a tough call... with the earlier seasons it's Buffy, but in five through seven it became (classic choice, I know) Spike. He's just an awesome character. There's very little in it though between him and The Soobies.

Whats been your favourite arc?

Character-wise or story-wise? I'll deal with both because I've got a few minutes before I'm off out and you can take your pick.

Angel story - Season Four. Without a doubt. I was never that much of a fan of the Angel/Darla/Connor storyline which took up the best part of two seasons; Season Four however just had so much energy and momentum with lots of twists and turns and all the characters came into their own... it felt a lot more like an Apocalypse as well.

character - Cordelia. Yeah Wesley's my favourite Angel character but Cordy's character arc was just that more meaningful and grand. When you look at her in Buffy and then in that episode in Season Five they are worlds apart... and for the better, as well.

Buffy story - Season Five. The show grew in scope and you had this unravelling mystery about Dawn. And 'The Body' is just an incredible episode. Buffy's sacrifice at the end was a defining moment of her character.

character - Spike. The idea of love for another changing this selfish evil thing into a soul-seeking hero is inspiring.

Please, feel free to ask me any questions too.

Did you find any of those silly? :smile2:

Thanks for the welcome all!

can you do a magic trick for me? Pretty please? I'll be your best friend forever! 🙂

Well, you've won me over already. A love for Spike. We could be best friends! 🙂

Glad to have you here. Welcome.

No I didn't, but that still doesn't make me drop my guard😉
I've seen many a person give reasonable answers to basic questions like that then come up with some stupid opinion later(though I have faith you won't do that - prove me right we haven't got that many decent newbies at the moment)

Ahh I hope I will (prove you right, that is!). I'm more one to post only when I think I've got something worth saying. As a Philosophy student the idea of spouting rubbish horrifies me!

Thank you for the warm welcomes everybody!

A Philosophy student, oh cripes.
No offence but i've only ever met one that I could stand and he was through extreme circumstances.
I definitely look forward to your posts now though, least even if I don't agree with you, they will be intelligent and thought out as opposed to some of the recent posters.

None taken - I know how some of us can be.

I tend leave all the deep, involved questions of Philosophy behind when with friends and online and such - but the disciplines you outlined remain.

Anyhow, I've rambled enough on this thread, time to get on with some proper posting 🙂

Indeed...and I just realised its 2 not 1.
Maybe you're lot are more tolerable than I thought!!!

See you postimg.

Thank you for the welcome! I am enjoying it here, and hopefully making some valuable contributions 🙂.
