We've seen in several episodes Slayers having dreams about or involving other Slayers. I want to discuss how much using Graduation Day part 2 and This Years Girl as the primary reference.

In Graduation Day, Buffy and Faith share a dream where Faith tells Buffy about the Mayor's weakness, had they not shared this dream, would Buffy have defeated the Mayor the same way?

In This Years Girl Faith dreams of the Mayor and Buffy, when Buffy and Faith are in the grave and Faith climb out, she wakes up from her coma, was this a regular dream of Faith's or a Slayer Dream featuring Buffy?

Had Buffy and Faith not had these dreams, do you feel that it would have changed the storylines, would it have made the episodes better or worse?

I think that it would have been much more difficult to defeat the Mayor without the dream. Buffy needed to understand the Mayor's weakness to lure him to the library.

I think that it was a Slayer dream, but that Buffy wasn't in control during it. I think that it was whatever force that gives them visions letting Faith know that the Mayor had been killed, and she subconciously twisted it to make Buffy appear to be the heartless murderer.

Had Buffy and Faith not had these dreams, do you feel that it would have changed the storylines, would it have made the episodes better or worse?

I personally love the episodes with Slayer dreams. The plotlines of several episodes may have been shanged considerably without the dreams. Who knows? The plot of Restless would certainly be different without the First Slayer.

Buffy and Faith were connected on a deeper, more spiritual level than anyone knew. Without those dreams, they wouldn't have been able to communicate through their thoughts like that, and that probably would have changed the storyline a lot. I love that we got to see these interactions through their dreams.

I think that the shared dream sequence was important, one for the way it effected the Plot for the episodes you mentioned, but I also think that they played a part in Faith's eventually seeking out redemption. After all, she mentions to Buffy that she kept having dreams about Buffy, and we know that the reverse was also true. I think part of this is that Faith deep down wants to reform and the events that take place in the arc starting with This Years Girl and Who Are You? and finishing with Five by Five and Sanctuary on AtS, make that happen. Without those dream sequences set up that arc and allow Faith to exhibit remorse and let Angel help her to reform and seek redemption.

Interesting, I've never thought about that before.

In the past slayers have always been linked and it was manifested in their dreams, all Willow's spell did was activate the slayer in them, not destroy any part of them, so I'm guessing they are all still connected. If I remember correctly, Fray didn't share this bond (her twin brother somehow ended up with the bond) so I guess that means that the slayer bond still exists.
