This book is written by Diana G Gallager and is set in season 3. There are less episode referances in this episode than in Prime Evil and she incorrectly states that it was Willow not Amy that did the love love spell for Xander. There are some similarities with previous episodes, for example Buffy has a dream that Angel dies much like in the Surprise/Innocence episode, she also fights a God that was banished much like in season 5.
If you read this it might be more enjoyable to forget that its part of the Buffyverse because the characters dont match. The storyline is good though. Its about an Aztec God of darkness, the more people he kills the longer it stays dark. There's a good twist about who one of the bad guys is as well.
