Of course Giles isn't the First, but I think I know who he is.

I know it has already been confirmed through many sources that Giles is not the First, because of all of the Scoobs suspecting him and touching him to see if he is the First. But how could he have survived the axe attack?

Well, from what I have gathered from the message boards at AICN, episode titles, and other spoiler sources, Giles gets a little help from an old buddy of ours, Glory. Well, remember back during "The Gift" when Giles was the one to kill Ben? Well, we know that Ben died, but what happened to Glory? We know that Buffy didn't kill her, she just stopped her from performing the ritual. So, my thought is that Glory had jumped ship and went into Giles' body. And perhaps right before the axe attack, Glory came out in time to defend herself or at least get hit by it. It kind of makes sense if you think about it. It's new news I came across, so it may not be new to you, but it is for me.
 
Absolutly too farfetched! It would be funny though seeing Giles in a dress! Wanna hear the real story!

It's not confirmed yet, but for now, I take it as thruth: Giles was knocked in a coma, and is producing a holographoc projection of himself to assist Buffy and to not frighten her!
 
cant be glory, thats why he killed ben cz glory died when ben died

she's a god, she can't die ... however she got locked away, further away then ever ... but she might find a way to return again someday!
 
im curious about somehting... If allycats right and the fact that glory was a god and couldnt die, then how did the F.E. morph into glory on one of the earlier eps.

And the idea about Glory being in giles is really far fetched. Glory was in what season 5 or was it 6. Anyways giles killed Ben to stop glory if not to kill her... and knowing Giles selfsacrificing ways i dont think he would risk buffy or anyone else by hosting her in his body...

That seems interesting. At least it's much better then the thong and the dress one. Giles wearing a thong and dress? Funny, but yet weird.
 
yeah Glory's dead. when she was abinshed form the hell dimension the first time, her evil cohorts melded her with Ben so that when she was in Ben form she would have all of his weaknesses, including death. When Giles killed ben he killed her. Thats why the F.E. can morph into her. And she wasn't a God...she was a demi-god, there's a difference...she only has power if someone believes in her
