Official Buffy AND Angel Spinoff Discussion Thread

I have to say, I'm sick to death of Spike, I don't think I'd even watch a spin off. An Illyria/Fred spin off would be good, and it'd be good if Glory and Illyria could have somehow been rulers together. As my co stars, I'd have Faith, Willow, a new witch (to make Willow have something to do), a MALE slayer (somehow Willow's slayer spell got the gene of a slayer in a slayer's son) and from if it could be done, Cordy, but also with special guest stars coming in a few times every season like Angel, Buffy, Dawn, Xander (who works at the builder's company across the city) and Gunn (who's back with his crew after surviving the final battle).

I would watch any spinoff from Buffy Angel or Firefly

BUT I would personally prefer an evil character in the spotlight. I think Buffy dealt with the 'good', Angel dealt with the 'in between' and a truly dark show, solely about evil doing and none of that redemption stuff we've already seen.

I think that dealing with a completely new demon character in the buffy/angel universe might be interesting, giving veiwers an entirely new cast to get into.

OR it could be of characters we've learnt to love(or hate) over the years.

My first idea:
D'hoffryn. I loved the character. mysterious, and also humerous(see hells bells and when he summons Willow to ask if she wants to be a vengence demon) but hes also down right evil. (see selfless. HALFREK!)
I think it could make an interesting experience following him around, and what he does. does he just hire potential vengence(or justice) demons.

My second:Wolf ram and hart. It could just be like stand alone episodes with there different cases and clients(of the demon variety of course) but I dont think it would b the same without lindsey and lilah. It could follow Lilahs contract beyond the grave, with WRH.

My third: A faith spin off really sparks my interest but i think it would be better if she was 'evil'. Otherwise I just see it being too similar to Buffy, which isn't all that bad, but I praise Joss and the shows hes created because of their origionality.

Basically any spin off will be watched by me religiously, but I want one now!

I'd like a Kate Lockley Spin off with her and Faith, Gunn and Illyria opening A demonhunting agency wiht guest apearances from Angel who is on the run.

Plus a few Buffy verse appearences too from Xander and Willow....

I personally would only be interested in Faith the Vampire Slayer. I mean, Faith is the only character, IMO, who could carry her own show that wouldn't get tiring after one season. Eliza Dushku is a fantastic actress and really needs her own television series, now that Tru Calling has been canceled. She's too good to just do movies now and then, I want to see her on television every week.

If there was a Faith spin-off, I think it should be even darker than Angel was. Faith has so much darkness within herself that I think that could fuel several seasons, despite the fact that she's [mostly] redeemed. I think she'd still realistically be fighting off that darkness still.

The show could also continue the story left by Angel somewhat. We could find out what happened in that battle, and I would love to see some more of Wolfram & Hart. I know it wouldn't happen but I would also like to have them bring back Cordelia somehow because I was incredibly pissed when she was killed off. I would also like them to somehow bring back Wes. And then there's Fred/Illyria...gotta have them.

But I honestly think that usually Eliza Dushku is a stronger actress than Sarah Michelle Gellar. I think she would be fantastic in her own spin-off. She's even said that she'd be interested in doing one, right? And I think that if it was done right it could exceed the best of Buffy and Angel. And hopefully it would have a larger budget than Buffy and try to avoid the rubber demons (like the fat demon in "Bad Girls" - he was lame).

The CW will probably be begging for a signature show. With "Smallville" supposedly ending after it's seventh season (I read the producers want to end it after year seven), I think it would be wise for The CW to make some sort of deal with Joss Whedon, make this show happen, and pair it with Supernatural, which would pretty much be the best two hour lineup you could ever hope for.

I always thought that it would be really cool if they made at least one season of the days when Angelus, Darla, Spike and Dru were all together. It would be on the other side of the spectrum.. instead of fighting the good fight, they'd be fighting the very bad fight.

I heard that there will be a Buffy the Vampire Slayer Animated Series. All of the original people who played on Buffy except for Sarah Michelle Gellar will be doing the voices.

I also heard that they are making a Faith the Vampire Slayer. Eliza Dushku might be coming back. It will center around Faith and maybe Willow, Xander, and Giles. Not Buffy.

I also heard that they are having a show called Slayer School. Slayer School would be based on the potential slayers. Mostly on Kennedy. Alison Hannigan might be on the show as Kennedy's girlfriend.

I also heard that they might do Spike the Series. It would be based upon Spike and some of his past life. I heard that like 3 to 4 years ago so I don't know if it will come true.

The last spin-off I heard was Ripper. Ripper would be based on Giles and his past life. It could possibly be based on his new life too. I heard this one like 2 years ago so I don't know if this one will come true either.

See i believe all those fall into two catagories
Probably not and Definitely not.

Spike, was probably the most recent and most plausible(as Ripper has been discussed since around season 5 Buffy maybe earlier) and that was muted not so long ago I believe.

Yeah I heard most of those along time ago. But the two times I mentioned it those were the two that I heard before every other one I posted.

Here ya go Buffy Man.

Start at the last post on this thread, and start reading backwards. Most of what you're discussing should be there. It stretches out back to 2004 though (It's a lot of pages).

I don't think the school for slayers thing is there though. Wasn't that something one of the writers said recently (possibly Marti Noxon) in relationship to the Willow spin-off that might have been.

I believe there's supposed to be some young slayer stuff in the upcoming canon Buffy Season 8 comic series though.

Yeah I think it was Marti Noxon. Or maybe it could have been Jane Espenson.

Thanks for putting that link. It really helped!

I'd like to see the fanged four thing done. I think that would be the most bad ass spin off movie they could do.

I'd also like to see one of Giles trying to reassemble the Watcher's Council. I'd like to see who he trains as the future Watchers. I think Xander is obvious, and Andrew would be funny to see.

Also, I'd really like to know what the heck happend to Oz after he left Sunnydale the second time. When he left his transformations were no longer controlled by the lunar cycle, but his emotions, so I always wondered if maybe he could learn to one day transform to a wolf and back at will. That would be awesome. He could eventually learn to use his wolfy powers for good.

Certainly, almost ANY kind of a spinoff would be great, but how about this? A rotating series, each with its own plot line, but joined by a single mission statement, consisting of Spike and Illyria one week, Faith and someone, possibly a potential romantic interest (NOT Wood! He's way too old for her, plus his only interest in her is his Slayer fixation), Dawn and Conner, and maybe a few other combinations, with plenty of crossovers between indivigual shows. In effect, we could have three or four reperate shows, each with enough time between episodes to have some really awesome stories on each. That would give all the actors plenty of spare time to cersue there seperate acting careers and still be available for each episode.

I'd pull for a spin-off following Willow any time, but since we're not gonna get it, my second-best option was always a "Tales of the Slayers" anthology-type series, with each one- to three-episode arc following a different new Slayer.

Since we're not gonna get that, either, I'll just have to read Season Eight and whimper softly...

This is odd, because I didn't like Dawn or Connor much on their own, but them together sounds like SO much fun. Especially if we added in tons of fun guest stars to wander in from time to time. There'd be tons of room for Xander, Giles, Andrew, Spike, Illyria, even Lorne. It would be fun.

As for Spike aging...I'm not too worried about that at all. First of all, he's always poorly lit, which saves a lot. And as for aging, OBVIOUSLY we take that in stride. I watched all of Angel before I watched any Buffy and by the time I saw the pilot of Buffy it was like, "Oh, wook at wittle Angel. He's like 15!" David aged a LOT through-out the seasons, and put on a bit of weight too. That was pretty dramatic aging and I don't care.
Granted 20 years might do some more damage to Spike than needed, but he could have been HORRIBLY scarred in that last battle and we'd never have to know!!!

I'd like to see a wrap up movie sort of the thing which can wrap up both series (BtVS and AtS) just like the Sex and The City movie did for that show.. Then it got me thinking, what would happen in this film? What would u guys be happy to see 'wrap up'?
