I completely loved this week's episode... very funny and very interesting...
Wesley was hilarious, all those contortions with weapons coming out of his arms and the way he checked his legs, just in case ::rolf:: and the way his legs gave out on him when he fell down the stairs when Angel and Connor were fighting, vintage stuff 😀
Queen C was back with a vengeance, and i liked her "hello salty goodness" which i'm sure is what she said the first time she ever clapped eyes on Angel back in the days of Buffy 🙂. The way she wailed about her hair (i think we've wailed with her on that one several times 😉 )
And Angel as Liam.. when he discovered his voice had either broken, or that the accent wasn't there. When he discovered he was a vampire and trying to hide it.
Also the fact that Angel, as Liam, was still able to beat seven bells out of an unsuspecting Connor. (obviously not knowing who he was and their relationship for want of a better word, at the time). And you know, it just occurred to me that Angel was really laying in to Connor at one point and there wasn't a mark on the boy. ::huh1::
But the very end. Cordelia remembered and told Angel that they had been in love but now needed time alone... the look on Angel's face and you could see tears in his eyes... 🙁

Brilliant stuff. A hilarious ep right 'til the "what really happened" end, especially the slapstick with Wesley's weaponry.
Using Lorne as a narrator was inspired.
Was that the new Big Bad we glimpsed at the end? I suspect it was but I've been trying to avoid spoilers (which I seem to have found easier with Angel than Buffy) although it gets more and more difficult.

😛 I've seen every episode of Angel and this was probably the best,just so many great little touches,Alexis Denisof was hilarious it was nice to see the incompetent fool back for a while,though Fred being a pot fiend was rather far-fetched I thought! :: wacko2 ,i'll have to watch it again just to try to get all the little references and what-not.......The ending as well,real emotional power....

I thought this episode was really enjoyable to watch and having the old style Cordy and Wesley was great! I found myself laughing a lot along with them and also Angel/Liam.
Fred and Gunn were cool, it was great seeing these characters we know behaving how they used to. Its funny how Cordy and Wesley seemed so natural, it was almost like nothing had happened to them since season 3 of Buffy!
I also thought that the hello, salty goodness line had been used before in Buffy. Was it in the season 1 ep Angel?
Cordy's glimpse of the eyes was a bit creepy! Was that connected to what Lorne saw?

I loved this ep but in comparison with Buffy's memory loss episode, Tabula Rasa, I think Buffy had the better ep.
I hope that the thing that Cordy saw is as evil and threatening as it looked! Should be fun!

Well it was probably the best so far this season but surely not the best ever. Oh well each to their own.
For a start it was a Joss written episode so we were expecting fireworks from the off. Instead we got a reheated Buffy episode (they even had Angel 'discovering' he was a vampire just like Spike in Tabula Rasa). Granted most of the dialogue was spot-on and there were some very nice narrative touches as well as excellent acting from Alexis Denisof. However there were also lots of dodgy bits.
I think someone already mentioned the fact that for some reason Lorne was unaffected by the regression. Is this supposed to be because he crawled behind the desk (which was a rather blatant move to put him out of sight to be discovered later)? Hmm. And why exactly were they regressed to teenagers? At least in Buffy it seemed a little more plausible.
Why on earth would Fred keep asking people for weed? That was very poor indeed.
Angel's dialogue was also a bit suspect. There were americanisms scattered throughout it - he says 'I guess' twice in about two lines!
Cordelia is also becoming less and less like the 21 year old she's supposed to be. Fred is supposed to be older than her but the balance isn't quite there.
Still, a reasonable episode saved primarily by Wesley.

Well at least I'm not the only one who thought this was 'Tabula Rasa' with an added twist of them becoming 16 yr olds again, it was a rehash, pure and simple, I expect more from the mighty joss god... more I demand to be entertained in a purely unique fashion!!!

😉 I've read your opinions and while I agree with some of your points I still feel it was done with such panache and elan that it really,really worked .......

As for it being my favourite Angel episode......well maybe not😀 ,my problem with Angel is that the first couple of seasons seem to have morphed into one huge amorphous mass and I can't honestly remember the episodes all that well,but enough about my memory problems::eyes:: .......Strange,I remember almost every Buffy ep. perfectly......😕

Series one was excellent. May Glenn Quin RIP, an real life, as well as in the programme. Series 2 was my least favourite, and series 3 was not fantastic, though it has got a bit better. Now series 4 was getting really good. I thought Wes was cool, and then they made the episode when Cordy came back. That was the worst episode I have seen in quite some time. Quite frankly it bit. However, this was definitely one of my favourites of all time.
Not quite as good as the day of Doyle's death, which was an exceptionally emotional episode, but the humour and style made up for the implausibility. (why was Liam speaking english not gaelic?).
