Rain of Fire

THE END OF THE WORLD - When Cordelia's (Charisma Carpenter) apocalyptic nightmares become a reality, Angel (David Boreanaz), Wesley (Alexis Denisof), Gunn (J. August Richards) and Lorne (Andy Hallett) find themselves powerless against The Beast (guest star Vladimir Kulich) who has risen from the center of the Earth, bringing earthquakes and a rain of fire to Los Angeles. Bloodied and beaten, Angel and his friends realize that they may not be able to stop the impending doom. Written by Steven DeKnight.

Brilliant episode!!!
The last 10 minutes was stunning!!!
Really enjoyed it, The Beast is well cool!!!
Cordy looking fine as ever!!! Oh and Lilah at the beginning!!!

I just cannot believe that she has gone and done it - after telling Angel she loved him she goes and gives herself to his *son* of all people - I don't care if she thought it was the right thing to do, it was just well, ewwwww... Plus, did you see the look on Angels face as he watched Cordy & Connor - talk about having your heart ripped out! He's about as lucky in love as his ex. 😉

It was good to see Wesley alongside the others fighting this beast, if only for a short time. Boy that thing is not going to be easy to defeat - even Lilah looked worried sick when watching the smashing display of the rain of fire from her office window.

And didn't you just know that Gunn killing Fred's professor was going to have repercussions which effected their once happy relationship - can no couple in Joss' world ever work out happily? Name me one couple still happy and together? Nah, i couldn't either!

Can't wait to see next weeks episode, especially after they ended tonight's ep like that!

Wait until you see the very begining of the next episode. The first few seconds right after 'previously on Angel' are priceless.

I loved tonight's episode.

But i hate David's current hairstyle.. i don't like the extra-short very dark colour, i don't think it suits him, it makes his face look square, the colour is too severe and it ages him. Please bring the blondie-bits back soon David!!! (I also think it detracts from his eyes too)

But back to the episode...

The increase in paranormal activity leading to the phones ringing off the hook.. and Lorne handled some of the enquiries beautifully 😀. And when Fred and Gunn saw all the rats::disturb: (not a great fan of rats myself).. but there's been some serious damage to Fred and Gunn's relationship since the professor, poor Fred.

Connor coming to see Angel, the way he called him "dad", it got his attention and mine. There was no taunting nor scorn in his voice then, he had Cordy's best interests at heart.

Okay, Wes and Lilah and the glasses was..... ::dis:: (didn't see the entire scene as i was putting my son to bed, but major yikes )

The scene between Cordelia and Angel.. she told him that she loved him but she couldn't be with him, she mentioned his past as Angelus, which he never hid, but as a Higher Being, she'd apparently lived it, saw the pain he'd inflicted yada yada.. again, something she knew about, i thought had accepted it to some degree, so why was it an issue now??, ::dk:: But yikes when her eyes went white!

Loved the scene between Lilah and Angel, with a sheepish looking Gavin gagged and bound to the chair::evil1::

I think the episode really started to get going when Cordelia and Connor ended up in the alleyway where Connor was born, and the fact that the Beast chose to rise from there (or not, who knows). The way he swatted Connor around like he was a pesky fly or something.

The rest of Angel Investigations facing the Beast and again it made mincemeat of them. I kept thinking, where was that rocket launcher Buffy used against the Judge when you needed it??.. 😉.

But i gasped out loud when the Beast drove the stake into Angel's neck.. the amount of blood, and the way it just flung him off the top of the building...

And i'm glad that i wasn't the only one to realise that Lilah looked scared out of her wits during the rain of fire.

And Cordelia and Connor!!!!!!! wtf????::nono1:: ::nono1:: ::nono1:: ::nono1:: ::nono1:: ::nono1::

And Angel witnessed it!!!!

Next week can NOT come quick enough!!!!

:: wacko : I was watching the last 15 minutes and for some reason a line of "Wizard of Oz"(The movie) popped in my head, namely:"We're not in Kansas anymore ,Toto" Or words to that effect ,LOL,which means there's no safety net now baby!!!:: hiding:

Absolutely freaking awesome!:: wacko2 I'm not usually one for fight scenes but that one was superb, that demonthingy could have killed Angel,no hassle but it's obviously bigger plans for him, hence the pushing of emotional buttons.......And I'm straight but wasn't Wesley sexy as hell! 😛 Slow-motioningly unloading his weapon(s) ::huh::

Just one minor quibble......The sex scene was obviously just a plot device,it worked well but almost unbalanced the whole ending, they just got away with it IMO.....

Lilah being jealous was intriguing as well,is there real emotion there???

I feel sorry for Vincent Kartheiser having to simulate sex with a pregnant actress! 😛 ,poor guy!

What a great ep!! It's good to see Wesley fighting with them again. Connor and Cordy was just weird. Angel looked like he was gonna punch something. Looks like the Beast is going to take some beating.

I thought the ep was good but not the worst of the season so far.i prefer the whole gang together and not all separated. i did like the last 10 minutes though. i'll give it 3 out of 5.

I'm a forum newbie so be gentle 😉

I thought it was a great ep......even my boyfriend (somewhat of a casual Angel viewer) had his interest piqued by Lilah in her schoolgirl's outfit .....hmmm

Last 10 mins or so were unmissable...and although I already knew about the whole Cordy/Connor thing, I would agree that it was still a bit eewwwww to actually watch:: wacko2 (and I wish he'd cut his B*@£$y hair!)

As usual Lorne was great....loved the way he dealt with the phone-calls.

Looking forward to next week now !

Welcome to the boards Noriko!::wave:: as long as you write intelligently there won't be a problem, if you don't......::rm:: ....I'm just messing with you😀 .....

😉

I havnt really got into season 4 yet but Rain of Fire was very enjoyable to watch.

Gunn and Fred are my favourite Angel characters so I dont like the troubles they are having (although after Supersymmetry and this being Jossverse, it was inevitable).

The rats - ewww I hate rats!!

I loved Lilah as Fred, that was brilliant. The whole if I eat my vegetables I'll one day have hips, and Texas Twig bits had me laughing. I also thought that Lilah's face was a picture when Wesley told her to leave the glasses on.

Is the Beast the devil? Or is that just me being daft?

I'm finding Cordy quite annoying lately and her sleeping with Connor was ewwww, although not as ewww as the rats, I think!

I loved that Wes joined the others in fighting the Beast and I thought the fight was brilliant. This might seem really sadistic but I love it when our heroes come up against a seemingly invincible foe. I had the same feelings when Buffy first fought Glory.

It was rather gory what with the neck and being thrown quite a distance. Loved Wes when he kept pulling the bigger guns out!

I liked the reactions from everyone to the rain of fire which looked great including a scared Lilah.

I also loved when the birds kept flying into the doors of AI, although the blood wasnt as nice. I liked Lorne's close the door, no really close the door or words to that effect!

So much rambling, I cant wait for the next ep now!

Enjoyed this ep on the whole but I didn't like the Conner/Cordy sex scene. I know it was there to further the plot but EEEEWWW, she's his mother substitute!

The Beast looked great, except in a couple of shots when I thought it was very Dr Who-guy-in-a-rubber-suit-esque. Is this guy gonna be related to the Big Bad in Buffy?

Loved: Wes pitching in with the other guys in the big fight: Lilah's impersonation of Fred; the fact the beast scares Wolfram and Hart (Lilah anyway).

Apocalypse Next, eh?

Ummm am I the only one who thought they've just leaped from safety net into a tub of of water filled with electric eels? It's not like the events that happened in this episode would not reach news networks all over the world and it's an isolated incident... hmmm the apocalypse hits LA... oh look we're in Kentucky... we're safe from the apocalypse...

It was a great episode all in all and why do I get the feeling that 'The Beast' is after Cordy and Cordy alone..... I think cordy knows this also when connor blamed himself she stepped in and she knows a lil more than she's letting on.

As for the grunting at the end of the episode with Cordy and Connor, can we say The Graduate lol

It really is the end of the world.

Ok, here's the deal. When Wesley went to the hamburger dude, he said that it was certain that the vampire will devour his child. Beware the signs: EARTHQUAKE, FIRE, BLOOD. well, we had all 3. I thought maybe he'd kill Conner, but alas it was not to be. Now it looks more likely, with the signs being repeated. Yipee. (That kid is really getting on my nerves. especially with that stupid hair...)
