Official Discussion 7.11 'Showtime' (Sky One UK)

A good ep with excellent fight at the end - but where did the telepathy come from? I remember Willow using it at the start of season 6 but I didn't think she could still do it...
 
It was very interesting, I was watching it yesterday, and you know how most people dont trust Kennedy, my dad said out of the blue, 'I dont trust her' i found it very interesting, becuase we all dont like her, especially me!
 
i trust her! and i only caught the end fight, but i D/L my epis so i have seen it all. can i just say cut-o-rama! the end fight had quet a bit cut from it i could not belive it. the bits that were cut are...

there was a single punch they cut when UV really beats her hard around the face. when i first saw thet move i thiugh Ouch! i consider thet punch as raw.

you know when Ubervamp hit Buffy and she fell into the breez blocks they cut the bit after... Buffy then pickes up a breez block goes to hit UV with it but UV punches it out of her hand then hits her on the follr, whils on the floor UV kick Buffy in the stomch and she rolls under the scafolding. (any one notice how she just appeard under there. well thats how!)

and lastly the chop. yep they didn't show UVs head come off! all we saw was the vamps head in the air and already turning to dust.
 
Yeah, the cuts were really bad 🙁
I enjoyed the episode tho two questions come to mind.

1, The telepathy (as already mentioned)...have I missed something?! 😕

2, The Ubervamp. Can anyone take him seriously? I'm still trying to make up my mind wether he's camp or he just really needs the toilet.
 
I trust Kennedy - the other SiT were like b*t%h moan whine all the time but she had her head screwed on!

The telepathy - I was like 'Where did that come from?' too

I actually thought they were a bit slow with the attempting to cut UV's head off plan though (don't they watch vampire movies?)

Ooooh, and she finally came for Spike, just like he knew she would! :0)
 
I loved this episode, I was expecting something pretty average but the end result was a lot more than that.

Firstly, I like Rona, she fits in well and although she moaned a bit she also had some good lines.

Chloe and Vi - I think they need some more screentime before I decide about them.

I liked that Eve was the first. If she was a 'goodie' she would drive me nuts! But Eve being the first woman biblically should have hinted me in sooner as to what her true nature was.

I love Molly - her accent is very fake but what the hell shes a cool character.

I like Kennedy also but at the end of Buffy/Ubervamp fight her smile seemed a little too sinister. I do however like how she sticks up for Willow and Buffy.

My take on the telepathy - we know Willow can already do it as shown in Bargaining. Well what if the mutual meditation at the end of Same Time Same Place forged a link between her and Buffy on a spiritual level which allows a deeper form of communication. Also Xander couldnt do it straight away but when they move out of the dining room, doesnt he manage to join in the conversation? This could be down to the adjoining spell way back in Primeval when the core four became one.

I'm glad that the Ubervamp is gone. I liked the idea but didn't find the actual creature that interesting.

I loved Andrew in this episode. Ive just read Misery, so I was very impressed with his Misery/Kathy Bates/foot chopping off bit!!

I found Dawn and Andrews interactions quite intriguing and when Buffy arrived to confront Eve, I loved how he got his feet down and started brushing the settee!!

I thought it was great that Anya and Giles were paired up. I think they make a great team. Ive been a sorta Giles/Anya shipper since Tabula Rasa!!

Showtime is right up there in the top few episodes of season 7 for me!
 
I will been watching Showtime in 15 minutes when the repeat is shown on Sky One!!!

So later I will express my views on the episode!
 
people are like what!? with the Telepathy. we know she can do it and has done it before not only in 'Barganings' but also in 'The Gift' to Spike.
 
Loved it!!!

I hated Eve so much, I knew she was all bad!!! Hope we dont see her again I hate her beyond belief!!!

I love Kennedy so much, she was fab in Showtime!!! I trust her, I think!!!

I liked Anya and Giles pairing up, I have also kinda been a Anya/Giles shipper since Tabula Rasa too!!!

I give it 4 stakes out of 5!!!

I wouldn't say she initiated the telepathy, I'd have said she 'thought loudly' to see if Willow was listening. All in all a pretty average episode and I agree with those who couldn't take the Ubervamp seriously. One thing that bugged me was that Xander went down so easily when they charged out of the house - surely after seven years he's learned to handle himself a little better?
 
I think the telepathy thing, which confused me at first, is possible, think about it.
I would suspect Willow could do it. Being a witch and all, anyway.
If Buffy was thinking, loudly, as Grounded stated, Willow,could have picked that up, then Willow telepathically talks to Xander, Willow can here their two thoughts, becuase Willow doesnt really talk, Buffy does all the talking, then Willow could have told Xander what Buffy said, we just didnt see that.
And yeah, BuffyUKer i do downloads eppis sometimes!
 
The episode rocked! I give it 5/5 stakes......
I trust Kennedy and i think she is by far the strongest potential slayer there!

I love the andrew scenes... they make me laugh..... hehehehe lol
 
This was one of the top S7 eppys so far - this and the one before it were great! "Here endith the lesson" - very cool! lol.
I think kennedy (that the goody-two-shoes one?)... i think she looks really sinister with her smile and enthusiasm but i do think shes not supposed to be! lol. I think shes good but her smile is creepy!
Ubervamp woznt the best villain but i had no problem with him! lol.
The telepathy thing confused me too. Im surprised at buffy for not fully explaining it. We know willow can do it coz of previous eppys eg the one after buffy died (S6) when shes overlooking the graveyard and telepathically telling the vampire's location to the gang). I think the only explanations could be that either they had been talking like that before we saw it so willow could have initiated it or that willow and buffy arranged before or some time in the past for them to be able to do it. But these explanations dont sound very good, so... ???
I think its a very useful tool though! lol.
