Sleeper

DON'T DECEIVE ME - Buffy discovers that Spike is feeding off humans again, and siring vampires. She and the gang attempt to find proof of Spike's actions as Spike begins to remember what may or may not have happened. Off in England, another young girl is murdered by the cloaked figures and Giles arrives too late to help her. Alan J. Levi directed the episode written by Jane Espenson and David Fury

Double Post (next time use the edit button!):

This will probably come out as a double post but what the hell 'lol'

I've just got to comment on James Marsters acting, he has reduced me to tears yet again tonight - he is just brilliant!

At last the gang are all starting to realise that whatever *bad* is playing with them, is doing a real good job of it, and it has especially done a number on poor old Spike. I really felt for him tonight. 🙁

I didn't really feel like much else happened in tonights episode, as it mainly focused on Spike's predicament but it was good nevertheless.🙂 At least they do realise that they have to take this thing seriously , whatever it is.

I agree with you GG Sleeper wasnt as good as all other episodes this season!!!
Although you didnt see it all you only watched the last 10 so how would you know!!! You couldnt judge the whole episode!!!
I liked the whole Bronze scene and Buffy/Spike shapeshifting moment and Spike remember all his killings!!!
Average episode!!!

When the ending credits came up I sat there for about 2 minutes going "GILES!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!". What a tormenting way to finish an average episode.

🙁 AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!I thought this was one of the worst episodes ever!!!!::thumb:: If it wasn't for Anya and Spike's non-sex scene I would have cried tears of shame.::crying2:

The writers had better buck up,FFS!How come Sunnydale had a 1000 people milling in the plaza?
Where was the tension?I never for one moment thought Buffy was gonna dust Spike :: directo

SFX were really bad as well........The editing as well,if I'm not mistaken that blade was about 3 Ins from Gile's neck, now unless he can do a *no-neck* vanishing trick,it's gonna look bad if we see him again........

I thought "Him" was a low point but this was down a 1000ft mineshaft!

I hate to say this but........::cd:: maybe it's good the show is coming to an end...... ::bsad::

i totally agree with you all 'Sleeper' wasnt that good except the anya and spike scene. it was the worst ep of season 7 so far. i was very dissappointed with it. the end was good. How is Giles gonna duck that axe? Good ending, average ep. i'll give it 3 out of 5. and DXY how can u say ur glad the show is coming to an end?!

I didn't really like the episode, it was dull and dragged on for ages. I agree with you all when you say that the Spike and Anya scene was the only good scene in the whole episode, apart from the cool Giles cliffhanger.

** two out of five.

i'm not glad it's ending but if it doesn't get better soon it's gonna spoil my memories of what is(or was) a great show.....I really, really hope the show goes out with humonguous bang! :: tu :: ,but at the mo it feels very tired.......🙁

It seems like the general opinion for this episode isn't good.

I wasn't exactly overwhelmed myself, especially after the amazing CWDP last week.

Usually 8 - 9 on a Thursday night flash by in the click of a finger but Sleeper seemed to drag slightly.

James Marsters acting was brilliant though and although it wasnt the best episode, it was solid none the less.

I have to agree with most that the Anya and Spike non sex scene was great. When Anya was creeping round Spike's room it was obvious that he was gonna grab her eventually but even so I really jumped when he did! This ep made me love Anya even more, I want as many Anya scenes as possible now this season!

It seems that Spike was 'flipping' when a particular song was sung, Im sure the harmonica man and Bad Spike had the same tune. If this is the case I thought it was great that the lady at the Bronze was singing a song that mentioned Pavlov's Bells. Pavlov conditioned his dogs to salivate at the sound of a bell because he linked it to their feeding time.

Has the big bad somehow conditioned Spike's own feeding time to switch on/off with this tune?

I also thought that the singer's, 'I hate playing vampire towns' line was funny!

So the ep wasnt good but it wasnt bad either, it just seemed to have average stamped on it!

I thoght this episode was one of the BEST yet! Being a Buffy/Spike shipper though, I would think that, because there are some great moments between them in this episode. The Anya/Spike part was quite funny too! Poor Giles! I reckon Giles does get hit by the sword or whatever it was, but I dont think he is dead. Hopefully not anyway🙁 Is it just me though, or did anyone else notice that the vamps that Buffy stakes at the end(Spikes Victims) were mostly male? Or though Willow says that all of Spikes kills were female? Oh, well...it was still a great episode and I cant wait untill next week! 🙂

Anya and Spike scene was by far the best scene from Sleeper!!!

I happened to think that Sleeper was indeed a classic in the way it was put across, they needed to explain Spikes strange nightly habits somehow but I'm beginning to think 'From beneath You it Devours' refers to the big bad in Angel more than anything else.

This entity in buffy seems more like an "I'm here and it's gonna be a tough ass job to get rid o me" type...

Sleeper is bein very underrated here people... wakey wakey...

And if news of what's happening in LA don't reach Sunnydale then that is just sooo wrong.
