Wow, what a (literally) killer ending! Lilah is up there with my favourite characters so I was disappointed to see her dead.
What is up with Cordy? 'Our' Cordy wouldn't do that, no matter how much she hated Lilah. I cant wait to see how this is resolved.
I thought the episode was rather dull up until Lorne's arrival. After that it got a lot better although it was rather predictable that Angelus was still Angelus.
I loved it when Lorne said 'what is that succu-bitch doing here'!
Next week should be a corker!!

I adored this episode.. i thought it couldn't get any better than last week's but i was soooo wrong!!.
The comment that Angelus made about accents and his Irish brogue made me gasp out loud.
David is just stunning as Angelus, you can see just how much fun he's having playing him, and i've read in more than one interview that he adlibbed a lot of it and the cameras just kept rolling!.
Fred and Gunn broke up, though i can't say i didn't see that coming. Sad, but since "Supersymmetry" things just haven't been the same between those two.
Lilah met Angelus at last.
Loved all of Lorne's comments about Lilah, and the name he called her had me laughing out loud.
And i was completely convinced that Angel was back, totally.. until he said "guess again", though once we were in on the ruse, i didn't think he was that convincing, it seemed a little comical almost when he said that he had to go out and save the world.
And the last twenty minutes were just brilliant.. Angelus's cat and mouse game with Lilah, and Cordelia stabbing her!!!!.. i know she's been a little... strange, recently, but this!!!!.
Some thoughts though:
1. How did Angelus manage to fool Lorne?
2. Why didn't Angelus feed on Cordelia once he'd escaped?, he'd
been locked up in that cage for a while, surely feeding would
be the first (and only) thing on his mind?.
3. Why did Angelus tell Cordelia to "stay down", not once, but
twice during tonight's episode? i thought he liked it when they
fought back?.
But apart from those, loved tonight's episode, next week's will be very, very interesting to say the least 🙂

Wow - is Cordy gonna be the new Big Bad? If she is that would be too much like Evil Willow in last season's Buffy and I can't see JW doing that. Perhaps she wasn't taken by the PTB but the Beast's boss instead!?
So one would assume that you are indeed and Angelus lover is that right Keeny hon 😉 I totally agree with you though, he does surpass all his best 'Angel' moments when he is Angelus. The man has a skill...one that makes many weak at the knees!
He really has me in stitches, i'm glad he is there to lighten up the dark mood.
I was half convinced, especially when Lorne said that it was him (but i'll pick that up on your later point) and lol that bit at the end, it was almost as if he was racking his brains to think of something that Angel would say....and with that poor delivery lacking the emotion (by Angelus not David) why did none of them pick up on it?
I figured this was it, this was Lilah's turn to bow out by being killed by Angelus, since well Cordy wouldn't bite the bullet. She did a good job of try to fend him off, and that flip that sent him down the stairs!
But wow, I couldn't believe it when Cordy did that, I actually choked on my Lemsip. Looking back at the episode, knowing what I know now, i'm thinking that Cordelia is the higher boss of the demon. Or at least the higher boss has taken over her and thats why she is sent back perhaps? - Quick note that this is only my speculation I dont read spoilers as I dont want to know what happens until it does -
After all it was her who 'had the vision' of the spell that would bring Angel back. She would know it would'nt work, but use it to her advantage to get Angelus out to do the dirty work like the other minions. And Angelus being a sort of puppet in it all, does not know who the boss is, he said it himself. Just some thoughts.
I have no ideas on this one, equally as stumped as you are hon.
Perhaps because he likes to play with them first. In last weeks episode he did say that he would do lots of things to her, so perhaps he was saving her like he said he would. Also remembering back to when he was Angelus in The Becoming, and he was torturing Giles, he enjoyed it, playing it out and wearing them down.
I think the first time was perhaps just his figure of speech, to keep her out of the way until he fooled them, also sort of treating her like a pet, you know how you say to a dog 'down boy' or something like that. Perhaps he wanted to finish his work and then get back to her.
Something i've noticed, and wondered about. Ok they know how dangerous angelus is, from either first hand experience and stories, so why do they keep turning off the monitor and not looking at it!!

I think Cordelia was possesed by the Beast's boss and i liked it at the end where cordy go's "Why do you think i let him out? You. Stupid.Bitch."
And i agree with you there BuffyHelp Gunn is soo annoying and i think someone has to kill him before i do!!!!!!!

What an ep!! I love Angelus. I knew he hadn't regained his soul, so I was watching the end through my fingers, just waiting for him to vamp out. Ooooh I can't wait to see who it was that killed Lilah, cos it sure as hell wasn't Cordy. Eeee can't wait until next week.
Brilliant episode. That had to be the best shocker ending in all of Angel & Buffy.
I was really confused about this at first, but after watching the entire episode figured a theory out: (entirely speculation, don't read spoilers) seeing as how Cordelia must be possessed or something to actually kill Lilah, that spell she saw in her 'vision' could have been a spell to not restore his soul, but change his aura and vibe, so that when Lorne read him he would seem all Angel-like and the gang would be completely assured to let him out.

The thing that gave it away that cordy was working as the beasts master is that the dagger she used to stab lilah through the neck was the same dagger that the beast presented to his master in a previous episode!!!!
