Veteran Slayer-watchers will recall that Buffy's alma mater was razed at the end of the third season during a fight with a snake-demon mayor. Now revamped and restored, the school has a new crop of students, which includes awkward freshman Dawn (Michelle Trachtenberg). It also has a visitor, Buffy, who can't resist a chance to tour the facility. But her curiosity soon turns to dread when spirits from the old school materialize to harass her. Elsewhere, Giles (Anthony Stewart Head) consoles a guilt-ridden Willow (Alyson Hannigan).

This was one of my fave season openers, I couldn't wait for it to air and wasn't disappointed. I loved the new high school and Dawn's new friends, and the new principal was cool. The Spike stuff just rocked, there wasn't enough of that. James does crazy really well. Xander looked just spiffy in that epi, and Buffy had her spunk back after season 6. The ending was the best though, all the former Big Bads haunting Spike
 
Awesome. Ur right, Buffy did have her old...Buffiness back. And Spike w/ newly tortured soul was cool as well.
 
I agree! Buffy was really much better than when she was in Season Six. Just a lot more relaxed. She dealt with things better.
 
It was a very good ep and Buffy protecting new school- kinda ironic as she ruined the old one...
