Oh my gosh!!!! What a great episode.
I'm glad that Buffy didn't take the power because I don't want her to be a demon...
I thought it was great when spike busted out the ol leather jacket and principal wood has now definitely put two and two toogether.
Poor Chloe! And poor Kennedy for making her feel bad and for Willow's 'attack' on her!
And that ending. Talk about a sea of Turok-Hans... very scary.
So good, i'll have to watch it again!

good episode...although i sort of figured buffy would refuse because of the whole "less human" ideal, i suppose that explains where the slayer's power comes from...and the hints on being the "last guardian of the hellmouth" was like whoa...didn't like the part were she was lashing out on everyone and being so mean though 🙁 hehehe, spike is back with the leather! as for chloe...man, i liked her as a character....

oh hey--- I just remembered something I wanted to say. When Willow was telling Kennedy that she 'sucked the life out of her' because she had power, didn't she also do the same to Dawn?

Great episode and that whole part with spike telling Buffy he did all this for her was so awwwwww and it had so much anger and emotion... and willow with the whole talking back to the gods or what ever about her sucking at latin was kinda funny cause she had never done that before..... and i litterally think Spike and Principal Wood are going to get into it some time this season... oh so spine tingling, whats to happen next?

Great episode; not too much to dislike about it. Especially since I got to see Andrew in oven mitts.
As soon as I saw Chloe crying in Buffy's dream, I knew she was going to die; wasn't expecting her to commit suicide though. I thought Kennedy was going to feel a bit more guilty than she was; calling her a magot and all. Besides Molly, she was the main Potential I was hoping to see more of. Sucks.
Willow 'sucked the life out' of Anya & Kennedy, right? Not Xander or Dawn, right? Meaning he & Dawn weren't one of the more powerful people present.

I liked this episode. I am also glad that Buffy didn't take the power. Somehow I figure that all the power they need is among them. And holy freakin' CRAP, that was a lot of ubervamps. It's so scary.. but where are they? Under the seal..? Hmm..
And, my favourite part had to be the return of 'dangerous' Spike, or at least, the return of his duster! *swoooon*

Yeah... you gotta love how the leather trench coat personifies Spike's Bad Boy-ness.
As "sad" as it was.... at least Chloe's gone. I personally found her annoying. But whoa... that was a shocker how they did it! And with the First appearing afterwards... but honestly, Buffy, though harsh, was RIGHT in her speech. Chloe was weak, and stupid, and the others have to be smart and alert, or they'll end up the same.
It was so funny when Wood was all "Show me where you work" And buffy says "Well, this is my desk, and these are my pencils.."
or when Willow was all "Our Cheerleading group. Oh, okay good. Because I had NO explanation for all these weapons." and it was funny when she told the higher powers that she sucked at Latin. Yeah, I wasn't sure who she sucked the power out of. I thought it was Kennedy and Dawn, but it might have been Anya instead of Dawn. Anya doesn't have any powers anyways.
And what's up with D'hoffryn all of a sudden. Does he really CARE if Anya lives or dies? and suddenly he's got attackers going after Anya. *snort*
And the SECOND I saw the place Buffy went into I was all, that's where she fought the First Slayer. Those shaman types were weird though. And I had thought that the First Slayer would come out of the portal, but it was that weird beast thing. heh.

Oddly enough, I haven't seen Lord of the Rings, but that is what I thought of when I saw the final scene.
I actually find Kennedy to be more annoying than all the other potentials. And I agree that Buffy's speech although harsh was right. I loved when Xander pointed out that he was the one who was good for sarcasm. Another thing I noticed is how indecisive Buffy really is. She doesn't know what she wants out of everyone. Earlier in her life she didn't want Dawn involved with the darker side of what she has to do and now she does. She didn't want Xander and other to feel like the Zeppos of the bunch but now she's questioning why they're even there. And she didn't want Spike to be all evil and awful, but now she's emasculating him by questioning his dangerous attitude and will to fight. I thought *that* part was kinda harsh, especially since he really did go through everything for her. And the whole "now that you've got your soul back" offense against Spike (made by Wood and Buffy) is getting old fast. Stop questioning him already. He's a good guy. (And a very good looking good guy at that).

Well, if it can't then it is pretty hard to explain why nobody else saw the First talking to Spike all those times; like when Spike was tied to a chair in "Never Leave Me". The way I see it...the First is anywhere, anytime it wants to be; with or without being seen.

Lets face it, Spike-ums hasn't exactly been all "fist n fangs" since he's been re-souled.

I really liked this episode. The whole origins of the Slayer thing had me stuck to the TV.
I'm glad Chloe died and I'm glad Buffy called everyone a wuss. Chloe was weak. They're fighting the First, dammit, don't they realize that bad things are gonna happen.
As evil as the First seems, from a technicality stand-point, it can't do anything too big. Because then, they'd like.. have to do it in Angel too. Kinda takes the fun out of the Apocolypse they seem to be building up.
I'm really interested in that Uber-Vamp army. I'm guessing they're in the infamous Hell dimension, waiting for the HellMouth to open and destroy Earth. And I guess Buffy can sacrafice herself to close the HellMouth .. for good? And maybe Spike goes to Hell with her just to be with her?

I thought Buffy's pep talk was poorly strategized. I mean, all she did was alienate everyone. And to Anya--she just came across as a catty old beeotch. If burying Chloe isn't going to toughen people up, then Buffy acting like a primadonna sure as hell isn't.
And the powersuck thing. That was weird, because it seemed to happen twice. First to Dawn and Kennedy, and then to Kennedy and Anya. It's hard to tell with the first incident, because it was this flash of light, and then Dawn and Kennedy both collapsed, and only Kennedy got up shortly afterward. I thought Kennedy was being really ridiculous. Willow warns her over and over, about what she was--what she is--and then a little ol' drainage freaks her out? At least Willow wasn't phased by it, since there's only so much guilt a person in recovery can feel.

We're going to need a supercomputer to calculate all the trainee newcomers. It's getting out of hand. And is Giles the last Watcher left on earth?
I also didn't understand why Buffy was so disrespectful to the men responsible for her power, but the whole thing is confusing to me. Apparently the baseline of her powers comes from demon parts, but she didn't want additional demonic power? Give me a break! It's not like she's crossing a line or anything. The original powers haven't corrupted her, so why not get a little magical steroids as long as she's swinging by Africa? She just seemed belligerent and unfocused when she was there. At the very least, her position didn't seem very well articulated. I guess these men were involved in the torture of the first slayer in Africa, but Buffy still has no compunctions about freely using the power that resulted from that woman's suffering. She seems to be on shakey moral ground. In general, though, I do like the Slayer myth. It's very exciting, and even glamorous. I just don't like Buffy's response to it.

this ep was pretty cool. i cant believe how many potentials are in the house now. how many rooms does that house have anyway?! when buffy was opening doors in her dream, it seemed like a mansion.
i saw a few of you guys talking about ignoring faith, i cant tell ya how much that pisses me off too! i mean, just because she's gonna be on angel (fox), they act like UPN has to forget all about her!
and why the hell isnt dawn training with the potentials?! i mean, she can hold her own in a fight better than any of them, but she should still be training with more weapons and stuff.

Very strange indeed, it's not like those girls have any more talents then she does ... so why aren't Andrew, Dawn and Xander training with them, they are all just as strong now!
