Official Discussion of 7.15 "Get It Done" (UPN-US)

You know, Anya butted into that arguement before Buffy started it. Xander said, "We're all your friends" then Anya said, "I'm not." So Buffy said, "Then why are you here?" I think Anya is at least partly responsible for that tiff.

It was a pretty harsh blow. They've worked together for three years, and then Anya tells Buffy their not friends? I woulda said, then get outta my house.

Anya's character is known for honesty, so she just says what is. I think that comment about not being friends may have been partly an implied accusation of Buffy never extending friendship to her. When Anya had to pee in that pre-date scene, Buffy just seemed akward and distant. She definitely didn't behave like a friend. Anya didn't reveal that they're not friends; she just reminded everyone. It is true. Can anyone really picture Buffy and Anya hanging out at Starbucks together?

Why are the writers making Anya so horrible and making her like a complete outcast amongst the gang. She's as much a scoobie and Willow, Xander, and Buffy.

Amen to you. Anya has always been the outsider, and ive never liked that. Buffy and Willow, maybe even Dawn and Giles have never gave her a chance. They all think because she was a demon shes not good or crap like that. I really disagree to all the scoobies leaving Anya out, Spike is treated better than her!
In Sleeper, i think it was, Buffy said to Willow Spike needs blood, Willow says 'want me to kill Anya'' ??????!!!!!!????? WTF? For god sake, she was huiman then. IDIOTS. (IVE JUST had a gud rant havent I?)

Its called a joke 🙄 ::wave::

Great episode. I don't really see how the next one follows this but looking forward to it anyhow. Kennedy is so damn annoying. I wish she had killed herself instead of Chloe. Man, and those khakis she was wearing really didn't flatter her. I'm soo wishing we saw everything what Buffy was shown.

I agree that Kennedy is terribly annoying. She's beyond all hope of not being annoying for me. And I agree with everyone else in not liking Anya's outsiderness. They shouldn't hold her at an arm's length or be so curt with her just because she had some hard times with being a vengeance demon again and stuff. They've forgiven everyone else for their lapses, why not Anya?

Anya is understandably unhappy with her lot in life at the moment, and that rarely improves the disposition.

Principal Wood isn't likely to "get over" the fact that Spike killed his mother anytime soon, since he's been stewing about it since second or third grade. However, he does need to learn to be able to put those issues on hold on so he and Spike can work as allies; they're both going to be needed.

Spike/William. William/Spike. Spike has already referred to himself as William a couple of times when he was insane, and Buffy called him William last season when she dumped him. I don't think bad poetry is going to be an issue, but it's clear from the episode that what's needed right now is Spike with duster and the "Big Bad" attitude.

And for everyone who has pointed out that no one sane/worthy/with a clear conscience could *want* vast power thrust upon them, I agree. Take a look at those in in BtVS who *have* been power-seekers: Jonathan was the best case scenario, and he did a fair amount of damage, fell in with the wrong crowd, and got murdered.

WOW! i'v just seen the ep and it was smack on! Buffys speach although harsh as it was, amazing! i loved the score this epi especialy the spike gettin' his groov on one. i liked his 'i'm back'...but not evil! laught in the ally and also the point where he struck the match on the demons horn. the begining bit with the first slayer jumping out at buffy made me jump out of me skin... i loved that bit! and freaky people in the desert is always good. but i knew buffy could and would, eventualy, break free of those chains... why not sooner? maybe it was because she was to buisy trying to fight/scream back the 'power'. and yep the last scene definetly had a LOTR feel to it! but i originaly thought the first Turok-Han looked a lil LOTRsy.

Just a note: Anya did NOT open the gateway to the many-eyed thing. She asked someone she knew to do it, offered to have sex with him. He pretty much laughed and refused. It was GILES who threatened to have the Slayer burn down his establishment, and then the guy opened the portal.

A few things that id like to say. First of all buffy was right on with her speech. She has been carring everyone in the so called army and she needs everyone to do there part all there part to win. I find Anya to just be an annoyance whos just looking to get laid atm. I dont think she cares who as long there not human.

I dont see buffy as "part demon" so much as bound to the essence of a demon. Depending on your what mythology you subscribe to a witch was orignally a human female who made a pact with a force of evil *the devil* and through this pact was granted powers beyond that of a normal human. This is something similar though instead of choosing the power for themselves its choosen for them at birth. Think of it more as a battery for superhuman powers. If you think about it though it would have to be a pretty powerful demon if buffy only has a fraction of its power and still stronger then most demons. Not to mention it has 2 full slayers that its powering at the same time.

As far as the last guardian it simply means shes the last line of defence for the last battle of the portal. If she loses its open forever and demons flood and dominate earth again. If she wins then the portal is sealed forever and never a problem again. That wouldnt mean the end of the show since demons seem to spawn from more then just hell's mouth just that one permanent threat.

Im not a fan of Kennedy. Unless they change her charictor alot in the next few episodes I wont feel any remorse if they kill her off to get a reaction out of Willow. Ill probably cheer.

Now things im not to sure about. I know that to open the portal she drained Kennedy *potential* and Anya *ex demon* however hadnt she already drained Dawn to get started in the first place. *turns to dawn* You might want to start some coffee this could take awhile *zap* jumpstart. Just something to think about.

Anyway I had more things I had questions about but of course I cant remember them now so um maybe I should introduce myself. HI.

why are people saying kennedy is annoying? she's been my favorite potential since she got there! she was the only one who wasnt so scared about their duty, and was even excited about it. that's why she's the one training the others, because she's the most advanced (she was the one that staked that vamp when her, molly, rona, and vy were trapped in the crypt). if faith dies (i said IF, i dont want her too 😉 ), i hope kennedy would be the next slayer!

I think some people find her annoying because she's assertive and she always speaks her mind, but what she has to say isn't always correct. It's sort of like having two Buffy's on the show only one of them (Kennedy) is a young upstart.

I don't mind Kennedy's attitude because I think I understand Kennedy. IMHO, she's a potential slayer that shows more promise than the rest of the potentials because she's more like Buffy.

(Now does that mean Kennedy will be the next slayer? That's hard to say. Sure it seems likely, but with Joss & Co. you never can be too sure. 🙂 Before the episode Potential, I was foolish enough to believe (as many others did) that Dawn might be the next slayer.)

Anyway, it doesn't surprise me that some people find her annoying right now. I'm guessing they'll change their minds later in the season.

i thought spike was a little lame with his whole "i don't want to kill the demon because i'm good now" thing. and there is no way wood could remember the jacket his mother was wearing when he was four(?) years old.

that's all. good episode.

I agree that Spike not wanting to kill a demon would be lame. I saw it a bit differently though. Instead it was that Spike was holding back now, all the time. He's probably been like that ever since 7x02 "Beneath You" where he accidently stabbed a person because it was a demon just a moment before. Also, let's not forget Spike's been being used by the First, during which time he becomes a totally psycho killer. Those are some reasons why he might want to hold back. But at the same time, I agree with you that it was a little lame. Anyway, he's all better now. 🙂

About the memory: I have some memories from when I'm four. Admittedly they're a little weak, but they are there. I think if my mom had been wearing a trench coat the last time I saw her alive, I might remember that. Anyway, even if Wood had no memory, the question was legitimate because it was only the first or second time Wood had seen Spike wearing the coat and Wood seriously distrusts Spike already.

The real miracle in all of this is that Spike has worn a leather coat continuously for thirty years through fights and everything--and the coat is in fine condition. What on earth is it stiched with? Steel threads?

And Wood was already 7 or 8 at the time, and seems to have built a "mental shrine" to his mother. Most likely she wore that coat every time she went on patrol.

Well, I have heard it's still possible to get leather bomber jackets from World War II in very good condition. 🙂 In any case, the coat was obviously one of Spike's most prized possessions, so he undoubtedly took extra trouble with it. Maybe he got someone to put a "preservation spell" on it? 😀 Oh, well, this is television, after all.

I thought he said he was older--eightish. Anyone remember from "First Date"?

The exact line from "First Date":
WOOD: . . . She was killed when I was four. I still remember her, but it's a little... fuzzy? you know.

Fair enough. I still have fond memories of my mother yelling at me for breaking things at that age.
