Official Discussion of 7.15 "Get It Done" (UPN-US)

Yeah. I have some garbled memories of sitting on a counter and also of sledding. But if my mommy was a slayer and she wore a big jacket like that, I bet I'd remember. Especially, I'd remember when she turned up dead later and the jacket was no where to be found....

I remember getting lost at the beach; not so fun...

How did Wood know that his mom was a Slayer, I forget? And do you think he knew when he was four who she was or understood it at all?

Good question. No explaination has been given yet in the show, AFAIK. Feel free to invent your own explanation. 🙂

Even if she told him at that time, when he was four, I doubt he could've understood too well. Maybe the 70s slayer had a small group like the scoobies or at least one friend (besides her watcher) that knew the story. If so, that person could've raised Wood and explained it to him when he was older.

Oh yeah, that's right. Gee, i feel dumb now. Especially since I have access to the episode and everything, but I still managed to forget it. But yeah, Wood says that just a little bit later in the conversation with Buffy.

Double Post (next time use the edit button!):on the topic of power (again)

There are some that have said they feel it was a mistake for Buffy to reject the shamans' offer of power. I've already spoken about this before.

However, one thing I didn't speak about before was the chains. 🙂 When the shamans have Buffy chained, at first she can't seem to break free, but later she does. Now it's possible that she just tried harder later. My theory though, is that she's able to break free later because that demon-y essence has been mingling with her. I know she screamed it back out of herself after it went in, but I think a little bit of it stayed it. So she did get some power anyway, just not very much.

Try to find and watch the episode in the fifth season when Spike tells Buffy all about his Slayer-killing history. In one of the many flashbacks, it shows Spike kill Wood's mother, the then Slayer, on a subway car. As he explains the death-wish inherent in being the Slayer, past Spike strips off Nikki's coat and puts it on.

It's really a great episode and idea, and I'm glad it came around again.

just got to watch. Great ep! I was getting really pissed at Kennedy b/c it seems that she really enjoys the ability to use her power over the other girls, but not only that, she doesn't seem to have any respect for power. (ex: How she totally was all "I'm gonna beat u up" to Amy - no respect for the power that witch had - Although I do understand her motive. How she yelled at the girls. They needed it b/c she was so excited by it that it just didn't seem for the right reasons. Also, how she mouthed off to Buffy. I don't think she really comprehends the responsibilities and the power that comes with being the slayer).

Buffy's speech had me wondering if the first had taken her form again! I was shocked by what she said. Nevertheless, I did agree with her. She's been protecting everyone and no one else is really doing anything much. These girls should be able to hold their own in a good fight but they are all cowering and scared and hide behind Buffy's power. Willow needs to trust herself again. She was in England - she had training. We all saw her grow back her own skin! She still has all that power and she can control it if she tries.

I'm still not sure what I think about Buffy refusing the power. I understand why but I'm just not sure about what the whole thing really meant. I mean I know that's how the first slayer was 'born' but I'm sure with Joss it means something more 🙂

Sorry bout the longness - I'm just really stoked on this ep!

I thought about that too--seriously I mean. But we know that it was the real Buffy because she came in still holding the shovel which she then threw on the ground.

Oh that's right! I was all thinking to the part when she opened the box - but even at the beginning she had the shovel.

Gosh I can't get to sleep b/c I'm so excited to find out what'll happen next week (we don't get it until saturday) and I've been really 'good' and kept myself spoiler free! Uh! But I need sleep b/c I have my grad pictures tomorrow. Whoa, Buffy is affecting my life way too much......hmmmm....oh well 🙂

i totally agree! but i think she's just afraid of the First. remember a few eps back when willow tried to do another spell ( i think a locator spell or something), the First turned the magic around on her and hurt her pretty bad. i think that's the main reason she holds back now......
