Official Discussion of "Gone" (SkyOne-UK)

from buffyguide.com

A social services worker threatens to take guardianship of Dawn. Meanwhile, the three villains accidentally turn Buffy invisible with a ray gun.

Oooooh!

Invisible Buffy! *lol* This should be fun, you can see her sneaking a peak at Spike in the shadows *lmao*

And Geez what a difficult situation with the guardianship thing, I mean threatening to have Dawn taken away and then becoming invisible, I wonder how that will be resolved 😕

I am glad the Troika will be in this weeks as they always crack me up! And I want to know exactly what they are up too!

Also I wonder how Willow will be shaping up.....

Me too - she was shaking like hell at the end of the last episode.
The trio are wicked! as in the cool sense, not evil! They are such dorks!
Ive seen the trailer for this episode, the pressups, lol! You seen it? i guarantee laughs when you do but i wont spoil it just now!
Dawn will stay, you know it, Xander Harris! Ive read a detailed review of this episode in sfx and it looks hysterical coz buffy finally lightens up a wee bit! Too long to tell y'all about it though! It will be sooooooooo funny, cant wait 🙂 !

I'm just hoping that Wilow does get better, we wouldn't want her and Buffy to "go at it hammer and tongs" would we! I think some Karmic re-alignment is What Willow needs this ep. But an invisible Buffy does sound rather amusing 😱) and yes I have also seen the trailer 'tee hee'

Ah well we shall have to see

Yaaay, willow! I knew she could do it too! (does the book-page-turning-thing count as a slip-up?

I think the episode was very funny (not one of the best, but amazing as joss and buffy can do no wrong!) and im glad buffy said she realised she wanted to live (well, who wouldnt be?!?!?! lol) !

What a cool eppy, I love the trio! They make me laugh so much, buffy's nemesises! A really cool and funny ep, buffy's hair looks so damn cute-not sure bout the side parting though! Willow's stil irritating and we are't seeing enough of xander + anya! I wish Dawn would act like a regular 15year old.

Gud one

The Trio rock! They are such dorks! Lol.
If she was normal, itd be cool but normal is not really very excting, is it now?!?!?! Lol.
More Anya! Lol.
I ::heart:: buffys new haircut, side parting and all (although i never really notice her parting, but anyway) ! ! !

Great funny ep after Wrecked!!
I am so in love with Andrew......he's just too cute!
And the Troika are so funny, but hey - Warren is getting more evil.
And Will and Anya talking about Buffy's hair was great!
I love Buffy's new hair!
And ohmigosh! The Spike and Xander part was soooo funny!

awful episode why is buffy descending into medicrity?
the willow story line is the worst written storyline in buffy history. just how overbearing do they need to be with the magic as drug/heroin analogy.Buffy has always treated its audience with a modicum of inteligence before but this.its like the cosby show dealing with drugs.
thank god for Angel at least we have some inteligent writing there.
spike is buffy's only saving grace at the moment.great to see him get his arrogance back.trading in sex instead of violence.very clever, which makes me feel more conned about the other weak storylines.

I dont think that buffy is bad at the mo'! I like the willow storyline! I dont think they are treating us as if we have no intellignece.
I think all the endings for this series are surreal and sooo sad though ::crying:: !

i'm just saying one of buffy's strengths has always been the use of supernatural as an analogy for real life, but its always been done with a bit of subtlety .they seem to be continually putting up big neon signs for the magic/drugs analogy.i feel if you let the viewer work out the analogies themselves they are alot more satisfying and infinitly more believable.
also another thing about this season is the way they've handled tara.am i supposed to believe on the one hand tara loves willow more than anything but at the first sign of trouble, when willow needs her most, she dumps her.it degrades the integrity of her character and smacks of amber benson needing time of a couple of weeks later.
and in gone wasn't just a bit coincidental that buffy happened to be walking past as the trio were arguing.its just lazy writing to not come up with a more believable situation.
i can't see where this seasons going .the trio seem to be a dead end.buffy's not being human suddenly ignored and xander and anya treading over the same ground again and again for comic relief.and while its still a great program i feel its not reaching the benchmarks its previously set itself.
and with angel turning into a major epic just highlights it more.

I do think this season has had a bit too mnay changes and hat its a bit surreal coz buffy has always prided itself on being real eg eating while talking ie normal stuff too.
And the analogies for real life, yes. But i still belive the willow/drug/magic story is good and well-written.
I take your points though.

You can have Andrew...but Warren's mine!!! To quote Buffy 'I like my men how i like my evil....evil!'

I loved this episode!! It was trully funny! It was good to see Buffy having some fun. The whole Freeze gun thing was hilarious!

More screen time to The Trokia i say!!

Lol, they are good but EVIL!
Their charm will wear off soon, i think though!
*runs for cover from Faith* 😉

Aaaaaaaaahaha!

"Hey li'l girl, whut yo be doin' in maaa house?"
"I be yo daughter, daddy!"
"Oh sorry, Ah got so many children that I can't 'member dem awl. Ah got lotsa children an' lotsa wives - diffrent one each episode"

Sorry... I find The Cosby Show hilarious in ways that were never intended.

To the point - yeah the magic / drugs thing is, in a word, a horribly obvious cliché fest of epic proportions. We have:

- the gradual slip into it from "lighter" magic (cannabis - cocain, anyone?)
- the "friend" who talks her into it (You dun't have to do it jus' cuz the bigger kidz say it's cool)
- the nasty, perverted "Warlock" who "takes a tour as payment". (Can't afford to pay the dealer little girl? How about selling your body then?)
- the crazy demon, but don't worry it's not real, really! (That'll be the LSD talkin', luv)
- the "I'm staggering and giggling because I'm out of my head on magic" (*flashing light* S-T-O-N-E-D *end flashing light*)
- Oops, crashed the car (Don't take drugs and drive. It's naughty and never ends well)
- Oh no, I've hurt the ones I love the most!! (How horribly predictable)
- Buffy! I... I... I... I need help! (Good girl. Because y'know... admitting you have a problem is the first step to getting better.)

All of that horrible MORALISING! Disgusting really... nothin' wrong with a few good drugs. Sorry, "a little magic".
