The joyful reunion between Angel (David Boreanaz) and his now teenage son Connor (guest star Vincent Kartheiser) is short-lived when the enraged Connor comes seeking revenge against Angel for murder. Meanwhile, just at the moment when Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) and Angel are finally ready to face their feelings for each other, she is sent a message from the Powers That Be concerning her future.

Alexis Denisof, J. August Richards and Amy Acker also star. David Greenwalt wrote and directed the episode.

I liked that ep. Shame about Cordy and Lorne though, I won't miss Groo for some reason. Well, I can't think of much more to say now, but I'll post again later when I think of something, still, bloody good ep!

Dan.

I don't know why, but I was left feeling really empty after the episode. I had been looking forwards to it for so long and it just left too many things hanging... It was almost like THE END.

I know it isn't, but it is almost like I've been berieved and I don't know how to feel about the episode. On the one hand, there was some excellent acting, great revelations (though we all knew that Angel and Cordy were in love) I actually felt really sorry for Gru even though I've wanted him to go from the start 'cos Cordy and Angel are so right for each other, and I think Mark Lutz played him really well.

Of course any episode with Skip in is a great one 😀 , but I really don't want Cordy to ascend to higher being status... who will get the vision to help run Angel investigations?... oh, no, wait, there is no Angel investigations as Angel is at the bottom of the sea, Wesley has sunk so low as to sleep with Lyla (love the line about he wasn't thinking about her even while she was there 😉 ), Lorne has gone to vegas and Connor needs to be sent to boot camp. What is gunn gonna do? Take Fred to live on the streets and rejoin his old vamp fighting gang? Not so sure they would welcome her with open arms, and Angel investigations probably needs a bit more than just Gunn and Fred to run it.

It broke my heart to see the look on Angel's face as he sank to the bottom... he didn't even vamp out, and I really think he would have been justified to do so under the circumstances.

I can't wait for the next season to see how this is all resolved, but for now (other than some really strange theories I have conjured up in my head which involve the earth moving on several thousand years, the seas subsiding, the sun being burnt out and the sea relinquishes the Angel coffin complete with living skelington who is no longer day light challanged a there isn't any sun any more, to be met by a glowing unaging Cordy to wreak warfare on the demons who now rule the earth, while the humans cower in fear in caves underground near the heat of the earths core... told you they were strange theories, and somewhat unlikely!😛 ) I have no idea how this is going to reconcile itself.

Angel has been excellent this season, and I really didn't think it would end on such a dark note with so many goodbyes.

I think I need some time to come to terms with it.

What an ending, I felt so sad when that happened to Angel, how are they going to find him and get him out exactly? I really despise that Justine, what a bi-atch. Why couldn't she just tell the truth for once. So many questions need to be answered! Wheres connor going to go, is cordy and lorne coming back, is wes going to rejoin angel investigations! I can't wait till january for all of it to work out. I didnt like when cordy ascended that was a bit cheesy for me. The scene with her and skip was good though.

Poor angel 🙁🙁🙁🙁

*sniff* that was rather sad!!! Cordelia certainly has come a long way!! And those nasty powers not letting her tell Angel. And what will happen with Angel!!! All in that coffin in the sea.....

And Lilah, sleeping with Wesley..i thought she had better taste than that!!

I will miss Groo and Lorne, they were both my faves and he really loved Cordy. I'm running late for work now so will post more later

Well this was decidely average. Several things bothered me:

1) Wesley's 'descent' seems completely unlikely to me - I can't believe everyone has disowned him, it's just not believable.
2) Out of the clear blue sky Cordelia floats off to become a higher being? Oh my god...
3) Tragic misuse of Skip - where were his funny lines?
4) The season finishes out without the death of intensly annoying Linwood.
5) Apparent departure of all sources of comedy i.e. The Host and Groo and I can't see Wesley's own brand of slapstick coming back any time soon.
6) The complete absence of hilarious bad guy Sahjhan - they had the perfect opportunity for some lovely irony and have Connor kill him having returned from hell but oh no...

There were some good elements such as the great shot of Angel sinking down to the bottom of the bay and um...that's it.

I dont know what you were talking about!!! 😱 I thought it was one of the best eps of angel i have ever seen! Im desperate to know how they are going to fix all this!? ??? I cant imagine too good a how with us seeing angel watch all the lil' fishies swim by! Lol.

AND CORDY?! Wow! She cant be leaving! And surely if shes a higher being she will be allowed to travel and see angel again, confessing her true feelings ??? The Powers are mean! 😛

And my darlin Lorne! He was one of my favs!!! *sigh* - i hope he comes back!!!

Wesley: How low can you go, babe?

Gunn and Fred summed it all up completely: where the hell did everybody go?! Lol.

I agree about connor - serious harsh boot camp needs to sort that child out! I think, though, that he kinda believed angel when he pleaded at the end and told of his ::heart::. Do you not think?

Justine! What a completele evil scheming bi-atch!
Whoever said angel was justified if he went all vamp-ed out when he was pushed in - i dont think that wouldve made sense.

His vamp face is when he fights, when hes vicious and angry. He was none of these. Just sad, broken-hearted and desperate 🙁

What a brilliantly sad and clever episode.

😀

I totally agree he was broken hearted, but when he vamps out he gets stronger (like Doyle... but he still used to remain with his human face and get pummelled rather than go all demony)

My point was if he had gone vampy then maybe he could have gotten out of his tethers before he was welded into his very scenic underwater coffin 😛 . However, I guess that wouldn't have made Connor love him much... but then sending your dad to a watery eternity doesn't show much in the way of father son relations anyway, Angel pretty much had nothing to lose.

Also, he could prove to Connor that he can 'go vamp; without actually hurting anyone, that his vampire side has a point to it other than kill maim and destroy at the all you can eat moron buffet!.

I for one wouldn't have blamed him for getting angry and vampy, after all he was done up like a kipper by Holst and the evil bitch from hell justine, and I sure as hell would have had a few choice words to say to that young madam!

Like I say, when you are about to be pushed into the middle of the Ocean in a big metal casket by your only son (in fact only family, seeing as he ate the rest of them) who thinks you are responsible for the mindless slaughter of the man whou had looked after him, Angel really didn't have too much to lose.

Lol, i ::heart:: you're sarcastic wit! Lol.
Justine would be getting more than "a few words" from me! She would have found herself back to the hell which she came from!
I do think he wasnt so much angry - he was too sad to be that angry and to vamp out.
Also, he was pretty much tied in before he reagined consciousness - therefore, the bonds will be strong enough to withold vampire stregth, i think.
I think he was right not to vamp out, even if he wanted to. By doing so, all he would have done would cause connor more pain and remind him of his dad's 'demon' and to make him think he cant handle himself without turning vampy.
Next season gonna be sooooooooooooooo damn good!

😀

Lol, hell's angel sent me THE most gorge piccie of vincent! Hes so much more stunning in that than on the show!
The ending was brilliant!!! Lol, cruel but oh-so-brilliant!
But im not going to ramble on . . . again . . . lol . . .

😉

i agree with sweet pea that the finale left you feeling empty i thought it would all be resolved like what normally happens at the end of a series but they realy left us hanging this time! it's so unfair i'm nearly burstig to find out what happens next season! isn't it wierd how the buffy spoilers always get leaked but the angel ones never do? 😀

Lol, its good that things arent resolved! Thats the whole point coz now theres not way (if you ever would, but you wouldnt, i know!) that you're gonna miss the beginning of angel next season! Its like what they do in a soap only way more classier . . . lol 😉

I can't believe it's only been about five weeks since the finale and i'm missing the show so much.. though i have every episode on tape should the cravings become too much. 😉

As a finale, i thought it could have been a little better in parts.

It was nicely built up so that Connor believed that Angel killed his foster father. Though it annoyed me that he automatically called Angel Angelus.. he hasn't been "Angelus" in the true sense since S2 Buffy (four, five years?).. he has a soul, shouldn't have Connor realised that?.. but then again, being brainwashed by Holtz....

I can't exactly put my finger on it, but i felt the Angel/Cordelia realising their love for each other was a little too pat, too convenient.. after "Waiting in the Wings", i thought that storyline had been buried for the Angel-Connor storyline. It sort of just reappeared.. and the Angel-Cordy was a bit naff.. appearing to her to tell her that she was in love with Angel?.. oh please!!...

I loved the Angel-Connor storyline, when Angel truly believed he had gotten his son back, and was welcoming him into the fold. And Connor let him believe it. It was wonderful watching them interact, the fight scenes, etc. And their confrontation was amazing.

I hate Justine and i hope Connor wakes up to her very quickly.

And the way that Cordelia went "up" and Angel went "down": nice imagery.

Really looking forward to season four 🙂

Lol . . . what can i say that i havent already said . . . yeah. Lol.
Hate justine - 😛 to her. I think vincent is wicked (in the cool sense, not the evil one 😉 lol)!
And im eagerly waiting for S4!!!

😀

I hate Justine >: ( shed go well with that idiot Warren they are both a pain in the backside. What a way to go stuck for eternity at the bottom of the sea. I want Wes back 🙁.

nooooooooooo!!!!!!! Why did they have to get rid of Lorne? He was the best! I don't think we will be seeing him again. 🙁 As for Groo I liked him to (Not as much as Lorne). But I got a feeling he will return in the future for one show.

Yeah, i adored Lorne too! Didnt love Groo, didnt hate him. But id rather have him not there than there so i am kinda glad hes gone, although i kinda felt sorry for him! But i did ::heart:: The Host so 🙁 ! ! !

I thought the finale had a beautiful symmetry to it - Cordy rising, Angel sinking.

I had no idea that vamps could go that long without blood, but apparently they can!

Actually when you think about it, Angel's had a bit of a rough deal in terms of getting stuck for long periods of time in nasty places - thinking about the hell dimension (Buffy season 2 finale), where he spent "hundreds" of years, and I'm sure there are others. Even when he goes for some r&r after buffy's death he gets attacked by demon monks!

We finally got rid of Groo but we also lost Cordy?

Nooooooooooo!

I did love this episode though, mainly because I've been a Lilah fan since her first apperance and I knew...or hoped...her sleeping with Wesley would lead to her being a more prominent character.

*yay!!*
