I get really bad periods --- i sware i get cramped all over hurt like heck --- headaches and everything --- I sware I'm better off in bed at this time its so unbearable :banghead:

What should I do ???

Have any home remedies anything ???

Well...here's my mom's advice:

If you get really bloated, drink water (it makes you pee a lot! 😀)
If you get really bad cramps drink milk (I have nooo clue why)

Don't take ibuprofen for the pain, it sometimes (and only for some women) can react strangely with birth control or be ineffective. Try painkillers specifically designed for menstrual pain, or just take one or 2 Aleve (not more though!)

And my favorite: eat at least an ounce of DARK chocolate. Not milk, dark, the bittersweet kind. First off, it'll just make you feel better, plus the antioxidents in dark chocolate are supposed to be good for you.

I am the same way every month killer pain, and plus heavy bleeding and really irregular and my doctor put me on yasmin the birthcontroll pill cause it is supposed to slow bleeding and help reduce cramps i dont know if it works cause i didn't take it long before having to stop (due to high blood pressure)
The other thing that somewhat helps but barely is some mydol extra strength and a heating pad on high for about an hour in bed that helps me alittle so maybe it will do you alittle good if you havent' already tried it

Oh I know how hard this can be.. I've had some very bad periods the latest years myself, and yeah it really feels unbearable. What I do is that when I feel that the cramps and stuff are coming I try to stay in motion, like walk around and stuff, and it helps for a while. After a while though, it gets so bad that I can't do anything except laying down in my bed, I lie there and sort of rock myself back and forth.. And drink a lot of water or milk like Anchovy said!

Hope you can find something that helps!

I often use ye ol' water bottle remady. Or if not, getting on all fours, you look like you should be in a dominatrix's besement but it relieves the pressure.

I usually AM on all fours when I get cramps. I usually try getting on my hands and knees and sitting back onto my feet, my arms stretched out infront of me. It relaxes me, and I can adjust myself until I feel comfortable again.

Also, EXCERCISE! I had a full weekend of heavy excercise (heavy for me, cause i usually dont move much...) and my period lasted only 3 days. Much less than my usual 7. Excercise relieves cramps, and I've found, makes it go by quickly.

Good luck on that...tricky subject, it is, cause everyone is different.

Oh yeah, Silve's right, I forgot about moderate to heavy physical activity. I like yoga or just plain stretching, because it feels good to do as well as helping relieve the cramping.

I think that all females have experienced the periods from hell...

I had three remedies for a couple years... First, as said, stay active (jump around, walk, etc), Second, curl up into fetal position after taking ibuprofen. Third.... BigMac meal from McDonalds. That always helps... greasy food.

Then my doctor suggested birth control to help regulate. I'll tell you, while I was one them, it was heaven on Earth. I had cramps only my first day that went away with aleve/ibuprofen. Plus, my cycle was only three days long, tops.

After I went off them, I was pretty regular too, and the pain had been alleviated. So, if you want, that's a good way to go.

Another good way to get rid of cramps during your period is to just get pregnant! LOL. It's really weird right now, having gone without it. It's very strange, yet relaxing! 🙂

Exercise is always a good thing. I always feel better when I do my walking/running.

Those new heat/pain strip things work well too. I found that one on my lower back does the trick just nicely.

But I just have to say, what a fricken funny thread title 🙂

From experience, you should get alot of exercise during the day, and get alot of rest at night. My mom also says that you should eat chocolate, because it'll make you feel better. She also said to drink lots of liquids and stay active, which goes along with exercise. It'll make you forget about it, and then before you know it, i'll be over with.

Of course you could do the activity thing which most of the time works, but sometimes you just don't feel like doing anything at all when you get cramps, so don't.

I suggest a sofa, a warm water bottle and listening to music or talk radio. Like so many before me have stated it's all about concentarting on something else besides the ain. So you can't just listen to music you really have to concentrate on the lyrics and melody. Or you can watch childrens televison, you're not used to it so you have to focus to keep up with the rythm of it and to understand why the characters do what they do.

Oh and some screaming and cursin often helps me as well.

I normally keep myself active... for some reason it relieves the pain. And at night time I go to bed with a hot-water bottles pressed to my tummy. It always seems to help. Drinking water helps bloated-ness. Drinking milk helps cramps. Often a good cry can help take away the frustration that comes with the pain.

Try those heat pads that you can buy in the store. I think they are called Therma Care. They work for intense pain (but they're kind of expensive) Or, if you prefer, you can just use a heating pad, the old fashioned kind. I always like to have that lay across my lower stomach. Of course, during this you'll need to be laying on the couch, so why not watch Buffy while you're at it?

That'll make it go away.
