From Deadline:

Pablo Larraín is set to direct and Kristen Stewart to play Princess Diana in Spencer, a drama that shapes up to be a hot package for the virtual Cannes Market. The Steven Knight-scripted film covers a critical weekend in the early ‘90s, when Diana decided her marriage to Prince Charles wasn’t working, and that she needed to veer from a path that put her in line to one day be queen. The drama takes place over three days, in one of her final Christmas holidays in the House of Windsor in their Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England. Production is expected to begin in early 2021.

Let the vitriol begin. What do you think of Stewart as Princess Di?

Can’t imagine Stewart in the part, but wasn’t there ”recently” (somewhat) a Naomi Watts movie where she played Di?

That IS recent for you. I was actually proud of you that you knew of something in the 2010s. :p

That was way back in 2013. There's been 5 Spiderman movies since then, can't they have two Princess Di movies?

Oh, I thought it was more recent than that
The casting doesn't really bother me. I can sort of see her as Diana. To be fair, I'm an American who grew up in post-Princess Diana era. 😳

I don't think that's fair at all

I think Kristen looks the part she sort of seems to have Diana's mannerisms in photos. I'd watch it but I'm really interested in princess diana anyway 🙂

Why do it as a film, do it as a tv program.
And Kristen Stewart as Princess Di ? You've got to be joking, she is in no way anything like our Princess Di.
Maybe K. Stewart is planning a sequel for how far can as actress fall?

I suppose being Di occasionally requires a vacant look.

The only Di film I want to see is an "dramatic interpretation" of Mohammed Al-Fayed's conspiracy theories, one that balances the pathos of a delusional elderly Egyptian man dealing with the grief of losing his son, combined with the absolute bonkers story that Dodi impregnated his trophy girlfriend of eight weeks, and to prevent the secret engagement, Prince Phillip arranged an honor killing using multiple European secret services, undercover agents all to keep the Prince William from having a half Egyptian sibling. Fantastic stuff.

Kristen Stewart can't act, is too short to play Diana, and she'll never get the accent right.

And @Priceless is correct, the world really doesn't need another film about Diana. Let the poor girl rest in peace ffs.

I need a Diana movie like I need a third nipple. And I still haven't found a use for the first two.

Have to agree - on the first point at least. Besides - it'll only encourage the right wing press here to make more vitriolic comments about M .Markel.
