Sorry, didn't mean to seem so not-caring. That's horrible that somebody had to die just because she said it was a 'noncey choice'. This guy is pretty sick.🙁

Yeah, FiveByFive, that was my reaction too. I know Buffy fans can be rather adament about our favorite characters, and debates about who we like can get really heated, but I think it's safe to say that 99.9% of Buffy fans don't take it this far, and this guy was just a wacko.

Still, it's sad.
 
But was the guy a fan too? or was he just a viewer? ... I think it's really sick, he's a real psycho!
 
i found it really sad. i understand that fans get heated about stuff but that was redicuklous, i actually think that the murder had very little to do with buffy the actual show. But if ihere is another more directly connected story. this is directly connected to buffy and i think it is so tragic and so sad. i really do. A girl commited suicide when she recieve so much flack over being a fan of Buffy from other school members. When/if i can find the article i will post it.
 
OMG. What a horrible story. That's just soo creepy. Man like Allycat said he is a real psycho. Man wonder what Joss and the cast think about this?
 
Hey, hey, don't get all sad, I read another, more positive, story (I'll post it if I find it again) about a girl, who was being harrest outside a club and she succesfully defended herself against those guys, with moves she learned from watching the show!
 
kewo. I guess a show like this had both posative and negative effects on people. i just think it is sad. I have been picked on for being the fan i am of the show since i discovered the show but i guess i am stronger, or just more stubborn than some.
 
That is terrible, but I don't think it was really anything to do with Buffy. He was obviously a psycho that was waiting to snap over anything! That poor girl, it sounds like she had been through so much in her short life.

Juliet Landau is pretty attractive but fancying Dru isn't something that comes up every day! The character is a bit on the crazy side!

It's good that there are good stories that come out of Buffy - like self-defence etc. It's a shame that people get picked on because they are fans! That confuses me, I don't really know why someone would get picked on for liking such a great show. Very bizarre.
 
No they don't! ... Stronlgy against death-penalty here! If you kill somebody, even as punishment for killing, you're just as bad
 
Thats what I used to think,but there are other sides to it,it will show other people who may have the same idea what will happen to them if they do anything of the sort,the only other way is life inprisonment in solitary confinement,or a mental hospital in this guys case.
 
either of those solutions is fitting however I do not beleive that anything in the legal.justice system works as a deterrent for anyone. If that was the case the death penelty would have ceaced crime in the past. People will do what people will do and it is in our nature to be optimistic (mostly anyway) most people beleive that they won't get caught, that they will get away with it. At least this guy confessed what he did, i think that is the only thing in his favour.
 
Any life inprisonment is much worse than the Death-penalty, anyway in my opinion, the main purpose of punishing is not the punishing itself, but the healing, making sure that if the person, does not come back into society unchanged!
 
everyone deserves a second chance and if there is no second chance for them e.g. Martin Bryant over here will never be let out. then they should be allowed to with thier life as they wish (M.B. has been stopped from commiting suicide several times) but it should always be within the safety of an institution designed to keep society safe. However, i will note that if my mother/daughter/son/husband etc. were hurt or in any way killed by a psycho then i would be out for blood. I'm a bit of a hypocrite. I wouldn't be asking the state to do it though, i'd do it myself.
 
What the Hell? This guy is like a freak. I wonder which character made him so wiggy. It must have been someone good. Wow, that was bad of my to say, but still this guy has issues. If he killed someone over a character on Buffy, he needs some mental help!
