To be honest, I am pretty sure this is not my first time here. However, I am almost 100% sure I've only ever lurked (plus I can't remember any other email addresses I would've signed up with) so here I officially am!

I've been a fan of Buffy since the original film, which was a father daughter night out for me - my dad also loved the film and we watched the tv show together quite a bit as well. I watched Angel belatedly but it is always Buffy I return to when I feel the world is just getting too.. evil 🙂

I am currently rewatching s7 as it's not had a lot of play in my household, and am re-reading Angel: ATF and working chronologically towards s9/Angel & Faith/ the amazing amount of comics I've missed this past year.

Buffy was also a father/daughter thing for me, my dad is the one that introduced me and we'd watch it almost everyday together!

So, just out of curiosity, are you French or English?

And just to swarm you with more questions, which season is your favorite? which character(s) is/are your favorite?

& I love questions, Blaze! I'm Acadian French/English - so very much franglais 😉 Actually just starting to take uni French online because I've become so terribly lazy at it! So happy to read Buffy was a family affair for more than me.

I am still extremely partial to season 2 of BtVS - it was when I became completely hooked and I had a major crush/wanted to be Drusilla. Season 4 is right behind that, as I feel it has some of the most single episode standouts and I Willow's storyline echoed my life a lot at that time - who knew someone else would lose their boyfriend to chasing a cure for lycanthropy!

Dru is a mainstay at the top of fave characters; Willow & Jenny Calendar right after (I'd like to think I grew into a combo of both of those women, though maybe more of Willow in her younger high school days); Oz, Faith, Illyria & Wesley round out the bunch. Obviously I identify with those who live a little outside of the box!

I'm sure you've answered these q's a million times, but if you have a moment I'd love to hear your thoughts! (Or anyone else who deems this thread read-worthy)
 
That's very cool! I have a few friends from New-Brunswick and a few of those speaks le Chiac! Personally I absolutely love their accent!! Me, well I'm about just as french as you get 😛

Seems like we like a lot of the same characters! Dru and Willow aren't my favorites but I very much like them. My favs would include Tara, Faith, Buffy, Wesley, Kate, and Jenny. Again my favorites pretty much go in accordance with the characters I identify with. Now one thing I'm curious, how did you relate with the storyline of Oz chasing a cure for lycanthropy? 😛 that got me a bit intrigued I must say.

As for fav seasons, I like the unpopular choice of s6, many don't like it but I just can't get enough of watching that season. s5 would probably be my second fav.
 
Blaze- i'm always intrigued when people hold s5 as a favourite; it's been a long time getting any love from me, what keeps you coming back to it?

Ha! Yes, I meant the other portion of Willow's S4 storyline 😉

Oh my what to say about s5-6. Combined they are probably the two seasons that I can connect with the most. I guess they resemble my life in a lot of way. I guess I just like the darker plot lines. In s5, well I just love the whole storyline of "death is your gift", I think the way they ended s5 was tragically beautiful, it's my favorite season finale from any show. I think the built up to the season finale was the best since season 2. Plus, I get a lot of my favorite characters and episodes in those season! And more Tara time 😛.

haha, got ya!! That's my favorite storyline for s4, tillow will always have a huge place in my heart 😛

You do make several very good points; the Tara time alone should up it in my books 😛 I feel it is very much a pivotal season, and I should definitely go back to it and relax on Dawnie a bit. S8 & 9 are really helping me move on in that respect 😉

You'll see, Dawn might grow on you! She sure did with me 😛 I started liking her the moment I realized that I like Buffy better when Dawn is there, hence by association I like having Dawn there! I did enjoy her time in the comic, but I've stopped reading them a while ago because of my starving student budget 😛

I'm glad there's a fellow Tara fan on the board! there never enough of those around!
