First of all I did not get what this movie was really about when I saw previews when it was coming to theaters. I thought it looked pretty good from previews but never went to see it. I didn't think it was anything to shout about, cause I didn't know. I have it on dvd and never put it in to watch...just kept putting it off. Then today it came on at 10am my time...I was up so I figured, let's check it out.

Well....

I wasn't sure what to think at the beginning. But here comes Joss making it very easy to love the characters on his shows/movie. I was hooked almost instantly. I don't know what it is about the way they (Joss and crew) write their characters but they do it in such a way that you can't help but fall for them.

There was a bit of comedy which was nice. I always welcome it. Especially at the beginning with the oh god oh god we're going to die and the whole explode line. It was brilliant and I did laugh out loud. And I absolutely repeated it in my head throughout the film.

I didn't find it cheesey at all. I thought it looked pretty realistic and even though serenity looked funny flying toward Miranda to some, I didn't notice because I was waiting impatiently like the crew was for them to arrive at Miranda safely.

I love the whole futuristic, other worldy kind of stuff, take me back to Total Recall, one of my favorites...I think that Serenity was brilliant! I am sad it didn't do as well as it could have in theaters. Hey I love Joss but even I, a fan, didn't know what the heck Serenity was about...now think how a non Joss fan felt...Having no clue what it is about leads you to well, another film at the theaters or staying home with a dvd...and about now, let's hope it's serenity people settle at home for.
