Always go with the latest and most expensive because that's most fun. 🙂
But to be honest I didn't see much that made me feel the need to run out and buy a new phone.
I'm sure iPhone 6s will work great for quite some time still so if you doesn't have some extra money that you can live without it's probably the more sensible choice.

Let's see if they pull the same stunt as last time when the i6 came out and all the i5's suddenly got a lot slower. I prefer an open-source platform for software, not something that locks you into one supplier.
