Old shows you miss

I miss Tru Calling and Sex and the city. As for newer shows I miss Nip/Tuck and Smallville, even though that just ended.

Here's the thing: if you haven't seen the show, all you need to know is that each season was the "end." They lost everything that made them special, they gave up everything and went back to their normal lives. Then, next season, part of the fun part was that they found a way to make the characters not exactly get everything back... but have a second, third, and fourth chance respectively.

Even at the end of Season 4, where it's pretty much, "Oh yeah, and you'll never get another chance after this. Screw this up and it's all over," they managed to bring the show back by going back in time and effectively adding extra episodes to Season 3.

SO WHY CAN'T THEY CONTINUE IT EVEN MORE?!?

There was this show that was on a few years ago and was suddenly not on anymore called "huff". I think it was on showtime. Hank Azeria starred and he was a psychiatrist. It was really good! His family was all dysfunctional - and his best friend was this drug addicted lawyer (played by Oliver platt) anyway, there was no closure or wrap up or anything it was just suddenly not on anymore. I miss it.

Xena. I just watched all 6 seasons in 2 weeks, she was the first character I ever idolised, she was my hero! I didn't realise how much I missed the show until I was bought all the seasons.

The Pretender and Profiler, I used to love those shows. Might have to check for them on dvd or online now that I think of it 🙂

I really miss the Sopranos alot, it was an amazing show. Another show I miss is the short lived Jericho, for the life of me I couldnt understand why that got cancelled.

The Chicago Code- as the new TV season is starting, I am sooo disappointed that we don't get a second season of this. 🙁

The old/original Torchwood- I miss all those beloved characters, the Hub, Cardiff etc.

Of course we miss Buffy, Angel, maybe Firefly and Dollhouse. But what other shows, non Jossverse shows, that ended a long time ago you miss?

Sixty years of TV watching, and you're wanting me to list all of my old favorites? Believe me, that's a potential flood gate that you really don't want to open.

But just a few that stand out above all the rest:

1) Star Trek. The REAL one, with no prefixes in the title.
2) The Twilight Zone and Night Gallery, both by Rod Sterling.
3) Have Gun-Will Travel. Paladin "A knight without armor in a savage land." The theme song alone was worth watching the show.
4) Tarzan. The first series, with Ron Ely, probably the only actor who ever really understood Burroughs' actual character.
5) Tales Of The Buccaneers. Robert Shaw as Captain Dan Tempest, reformed pirate, all around Irish good guy.

And some of the newer shows, just to prove that there still are a few good non-Whedon shows being made

6) Highlander
7) Dark Angel
8) Brimstone
9) New Amsterdam
10) Moonlight

I could go on for hours, but, as I said, those are just a few that I recall immediately.

-The Gates - had they not given that a 10pm on Sunday time slot, more people would have watched it
