On a Scale of 1-10 How Much do You Hate Parker?

Well, I don't really hate him, to be honest. Of course he was a bit annoying and mean but I just kept thinking "ahw, poor guy. He's in Buffy and a bad guy, but a very shitty one and not even magical or demon." I pitied him more than I hated him, really. So I would say 3/10?

Honestly, I don't hate Parker as much as I probably should. He's not a nice guy, sure...but I was too busy hating Buffy's complete and total overreaction and moody obsession about Parker to spend much time hating him.
God, she pisses me off so badly in those 4389243084302 episodes that she can't get over Parker.

Parker's an ass. On a show where even the good guys have a tendency to get possessed by demons and try to kill all their friends, he barely rates.

I don't hate Parker. I mean, I don't like what Parker did, but it is fairly common behavior for college boys. It's not evil to want to sleep around; it's just not what Buffy wanted/expected. He's just a normal human who made some bad/immature choices. To be honest, I agree with fly on the wall: Buffy spent too much time worrying about Parker. With real baddies like Angelus running around the Buffyverse threatening and even sometimes killing Buffy's loved ones, Parker just wasn't important enough to hate. I'd say 1/10.

If you've ever been played by a guy like that, I think you can really relate to Buffy there. Of course she was whiny for a time! And I really hate guys like that. If you only want a one-night stand, say so! But making a girl believe it's more like the starting of a relationship...that's mean.
And for Buffy it was even more hardcore, just remember, Angel had just dumped her not too long ago and it's not like she had faced many guys like Parker before. Also, remember Buffy waking up in 'Innocence' with Angel gone? This was sooo similar to the whole Parker deal, the poor girl must've developed some serious issues by the way guys seemed to abandon her after sex.

Parker kicked Buffy into the real world= One night of ex doesn't mean marrige, and happily ever after.
Buffy had just come from the fairytale relationship with Angel, where they were "oh so in love" and she thought every relationship was like that.

I don't hate the guy. I mean, I hated guys like him when I was in school. The girls went all pitter-patter over these losers and ended up getting treated just like Buffy did. And me, the "Xander" of the group. i.e. the guy friend, had to pick up the pieces and when she was all well and good, here comes another jackass to screw things up. Guys like him are a dime a dozen. What he did, despite the harshness of it all, actually benefitted her because now she knows that not only vampires can be blood suckers. Humans can be just as cruel.

I didn't hate Parker. I liked Parker. Parker was great! As said before, I didn't like Buffy trying to get over Parker. Parker just made the show more real, I mean, a one night stand is going to, or has happened to the majority of us, so why not have it happen to Buffy? Hmm, I noticed that I could quote most of you so I´ll skip that all together.

I hate Parker, or more specificly what he stands for. Sure it´s how most college boys behave and sure one can say that Buffy overreacted. And one can even agree that Parker did her a "favour" to show her "the real world". But that don´t mean that I don´t hate his (and many other guys) behaviour. I do, I really do. But a rating? Hmmm, I actually think it has to be a 9. But it´s a "for the moment" hate. It´s not like I go around evey day thinking of how much I hate him.


Considering some other posts I might have to clearify some things.

* I don´t see Parker as a worse person than Angelus. Duh! Even though I hate seeing woman/girls be treated like crap it´s not the same as killing loads of people.

*Just because you behave like a complete jerk at one point of your life it don´t mean you´ll be a jerk the rest of your life. But for me that don´t change the fact that you were a jerk at some point. The Parker we saw lasted just a few episodes and under that time he was a jerk = me hating him.

* It might feel like this is just a "hate guys that behave like jerks" statement so lets be clear that even girls can behave this way even though I don´t think it´s that common.

*And the whole "he´s just like everyone else" excuse is ridiculous to me. So if everyone´s a bully at one point of their life that´s a reason not to hate bullying?

*There are definitely more things to hate in the world and this might be a "small" thing in comparision but still it bugs me. That´ll never change.

I don't hate Parker that much. Let's be honest, he was a huge prick who treated Buffy really, really badly and that comment about the toilet seat was really uncalled for, too, but Buffy didn't have to jump in bed with him at the first chance, either. On a scale of 1-10, I'd say I DISLIKE Parker at about a 4. He's more annoying to me than loath-worthy.

Well, I understand exactly how Buffy felt in some ways, and I hate that Parker took away her last bit of innocence. Sure, she's gone through things that have opened up her eyes to the evil in the world, and she's run away from home, and worked a crap job, and her mum has tried to burn her at the stake, and she's heard a prophecy about her death, and hey - she's died! She's gone through so much, and the last piece of innocence she had left was that she had never made a very real, very human mistake of that magnitude before.

I can understand why she was upset, and broken hearted, and why she couldn't get over it.

Also, on a completely selfish note, it's nice to see that even the most beautiful, strong, amazing girl can have this happen to her, but I suppose the question being asked here, is do I hate Parker? In short - no. With all the things that we have to hate in the Jossverse, hating Parker seems a little frivolous. The thing I hate most about him is the way he tries to pull moves on Willow, when Willow is there to tell him how much he has hurt Buffy. That seems to take it, for me, from a thoughtless one night stand, to being a thoughtless nasty person. So, a 5, I hate him a 5.

I was expecting to see more Parker hate in this thread. I have to agree with most though: I don't hate him. I dislike Parker and the way he played Buffy. But he didn't force Buffy to sleep with him. She made that choice.

I liked the storyline. It realistically portrayed the way some college guys are. Let that be warning to all freshmen girls out there. Plus, I don't mind looking at Adam Kaufman.

In a way I understood Parker's attitudes regarding sex...however they're only okay when your partner goes in with the same attitudes...there's nothing wrong with just wanting to bonk...but leading someone to think you're genuinely interested in them, having sex with them and then discarding them like they're yesterday's trash is just appalling...especially when he was such a pig about it afterwards.

I really don't like Parker. He reminds of this guy that asked me out on a date and just wanted to see how fast he could get into my pants. I ended up telling him I had some errands or something of the like. So, yes, I do majorly dislike Parker.

I never actually hated Parker. In fact he actually reminds me of someone that I knew back in my college days. He's just not the sort of person that I would choose to spend my time with, and most certainly not the sort that I would want stalking any of my female friends.
