On the edge: Could you kill a man?

The only real situation in which I would kill someone is if I was legally allowed to, or if it came down to him or me. Unfortunately, I do not know my rights all that well, and I really do not want to spend the rest of my life in jail. If I knew my rights a little better, I would probably take any opportunity I had to legally kill someone. I know that that sounds sadistic, but the government usually has a reason for allowing you to kill people.

If there were no law against it, though, there are only two situations that I can think of in which I would consider killing someone. The first is if they wanted to die. I am a strong supporter of euthanasia. Like abortion and gay marriage, it is just one of those things that is only opposed by religious fanatics. Yeah, all of these issues have millions of arguments on both sides, but this is just the way I feel. (Man, this is one controversial thread. Please don't ban me or anything.)

The second situation would be if in self-defense or in the defense of another. This pretty much includes any situation in which it is me or them, or someone I like more than them or them. I suppose that this scenario might also include rape, but I have never been in a situation like that. I can imagine that I would be pretty pissed, but there is a part of me that thinks that I might just call the police. If someone were trying to kill another that I like more than them, I would probably only hesitate if the person might kill me. This is summed up perfectly by Verbal (Kevin Spacey) in The Usual Suspects: "It was Keyser Soze, Agent Kujan. I mean the devil himself. How do you shoot the devil in the back? What if you miss?"
 
i would do anything for the people i love. I would definately jump in front of a bullet for them.....I love them and they would do the same for me. I know this cuz they always stand up for me.. My boyfriend and his friends jumped this guy because he was calling me a slut and a bitch and said things like, Im a b***h that would F**k anyone and so on.
 
If my life was in danger (me or him), My 'chick' was in danger, protect a group of people. I'd even save my worst enemy to prove that I;m a better person. (Heres the part you all missed) No I couldn't kill a man but yes I could shoot him. I'd definatly pull the trigger. (I'd aim for a kneecap or his arm). no ****ing way I'm going out without a fight. and I'm dead serious. no wait I'm not dead serious otherwise that means he shot me first. Ah dammit.

Oh if it was a 'Messed up freind' (depresed). I'd try to reason with him first.
 
If he was unarmed I would aim for the kneecaps, but when it is in self-defense, he probably will not be unarmed. Even if I somehow managed to aim well enough to hit the kneecaps, he would still try to kill me. That is what I meant with my Usual Suspects quote. (I love that movie.)

if the person that would be killed says so, then yeah... people should have the right to decide when to live and die... it's their life

And I agree...B then A. Except I would do it all with a knife not a gun.
I could do a mercy kill depending on the person. If they are in a lot of pain they should get the same release as we can give to our animals. But I couldn't do it if it were my kids. I couldn't be the one. That is a good question by the way.
 
Kinda makes you wonder what goes on in his head eh? Maybe thinkin of blowin someone away? my advice. don't. best to strap em up to a chair and torture them like Faith did to Wesley.
 
Its a very interesting question.
It completely depends on the circumstances, as everyone else has mentioned.
Say someone killed one of my family, or my friends (the ones I like anyway) I think I actually would go over the edge and shoot whoever it was.
I would never do it, if I didnt like someone, or something like that.
My, this thread's got me thinking an awful lot! lol!
 
yeah me too,i wouldnt do a Warren like in season 6,but it depends what had happened with the person,self defence and if they tried to kill you first then fair enough.
 
I've never been put in a situation in which my state of mind is completely over the edge. I've never experienced a lot of crazed thinking in a "I-want-to-kill-you-so-badly" kind of way, so I don't know if I'd do it.
 
if someone had attact me, or tried to harm me, and it was me or that other person, then i prob could! i could at least hurt someone that way!!
 
i think it would depend on the situation..if i were saving someone else or possibly myself i think i'd do it. But really i dont' know if i could do it...but if i was saving others i probably would
