Once More With Feeling: Best Ever?

I still don't think it's the best, in terms of an episode of Buffy.
It doesn't have the BtVS feel to it, even though I love the episode, it's fun and angsty and gets a lot of plot out in the open, it's still not quite the 'best' for me.

OMWF is in my opinion one of the best, but not the best.

Normal Again is the most thought provoking episode for me.
Beer Bad is the funniest.
OMWF is what it is - an excellent episode with a great soundtrack.
The Body has to be the saddest episode ever.

I voted no.

But, it's hard to say that 'Once More With Feeling' is just like a regular episode of Buffy, it's a musical episode, it had a storyline, and fighting and the usual Buffy traits, but there was mostly singing, and dancing, and that doesn't normally happen in any other Buffy episode.. So in my head it's kinda seperate from all the other episodes.

Well obviously you can't really answer this question objectively, but it is a favored episode. I would say it's my favorite on personal terms. It was one of the first episodes I saw and I was just moved.
Again, you can't really define an episode as the best, but surely Once More With Feeling was a project that had relentless effort put into it, because of the fact that it is a musical. But, there are other episodes that have turned out very nicely as well in my opinion; such as Hush and Restless.

It's a great episode, but not my fave. It's great, because like Hush, and The Body it breaks the regular Buffy format, and does something unexpected.
My fave episode will probably always be Innocence though. That was when Buffy went up a level for me, Just so any great things about it. Angelus breaking Buffy's heart. Sarah Michelle Gellar proving she can act most young actresses of the screen. Oz and Willow's talk in the van. Willows confrontation with Xander, that was so sad, and at the same time hilarious. Eveything that you could ask for was in that episode. Scary, Sad, Funny, Sweet, Clever, and it had a rocket launcher. Nice.

I like it, don't get me wrong, but in my opinion, the best episode has to be Normal Again!
The episode was pure brilliance, and cull of clever twists.

Once more with feeling was just a really good musical

I will always love this epsiode for many reasons. First, I love musicals. Always have. I love how the story pulls together and we have these really big endings to major relationships. I hate that Buffy ends up turning to Spike for comfort but hey, what can you do?

in my opinion, "once more with feeling" isn't the best buffy episode, but it's one of the best. it's definitely in my top five. so i picked "other" in the poll.

I agree with those who said that it isn't fair to other episodes to call OMWF the best Buffy episode as it, along with for example (and especially) The Body, is such a departure from the usual and doesn't necessarily contain all the elements we've come to expect of a Buffy episode (or in the case of OMWF, it's the extra, musical element that makes the difference).
I agree as well with JCC about Passion as a candidate for best episode. It's an average episode in the sense that it contains all the elements that defines Buffy (humour, drama, action, horror), but spectacular in its quality.

So, Once More With Feeling; great episode, and certainly one of my favourites, but too different to be called the best Buffy episodes.
