Evil Angelus 95
Total Dork
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters from the show. They belong to Joss Whedon and Mutant Enemy.
This was one of the earliest things I wrote Buffy Fanfic wise, so what I did was I went back and 'cleaned' it up, polished it off a little bit more.
"Go on, do it. I'm waiting." She held the stake in her hand, the sensation of holding it suddenly feeling alien in her grip. His tone of voice seemed different, the way every word escaped from his mouth ringing in her ears.
"Are you freaking death? I said DO IT! Go on, put that stake straight through my heart." Her own heart fluttered for a minute, and as she looked back at those chocolate brown eyes, she felt her heart drop. There was no love or compassion behind them, the things that symbolized the caring soul that she loved. Instead, a look that can only be described as evil graced his features, overwhelming every other emotion.
"You're not Angel."
"Correct guess. Soul boy's not here anymore. It's just you and me, lover." He replied, a grin plastered all over his face.
"Don't call me that."
"Why not? I thought you loved him, loved me, after all, we're the same person in the same body. Seems like the perfect title for you" He took a step towards her, and as she backed away, she heard his laugh cut throught the night like a knife. As he turned his eyes back onto her, she almost flinched from the harshness that inhabited those pupils.
"Oh, don't be scared, I'm not going to hurt you, not one bit." He said, the laughter rapidly dying within his throat as he voiced the words. "I'm gonna hurt you a lot."
"I swear, if you lay so much as one hand on me"¦" She started before he interrupted her, still moving towards her in the process.
"You'll what? Attack me with your little sharpened stick? Oh, I'm scared all right." Still backing up, Buffy felt the cool stone of the wall behind her as she ran into the mausoleum. Out of room to move, she closed her eyes as he towered over her, his breath pouring down onto her hair and neck.
"You're afraid. I can smell it all over you."
"Piss off."
"You'd like that, wouldn't you? For me to just go away and never come back. And don't get me wrong, I'd have fun with it, destroying lives everywhere I went, setting entire cities ablaze, it'd be just like the old days. And all the while, you'd be here, knowing the entire time that you could have ended it right here." He replied, gripping her arm in his hand. She gave out an exclaimed breath as the sudden pain coursed through her body.
"I'm right, aren't it? I want to hear you say it."
"I'd die before I would say that to you." She answered him, her eyes open, but still not containing any of the drive and determination that they usually held. She would never be willing to admit it, but she indeed afraid.
"I can easily arrange that, but I wouldn't have any fun with it if I had to do it right here and now. So let's make this easy for both of us. Say it."
"No."
"Say it!"
"No." The word itself came out stronger this time, with the Slayer practically spitting the single phrase back at the vampire before her.
"I can easily make you scream it, now say it!"
"No!" She replied for the final time, pushing her head back as far as possible and spitting into his eye. Stunned for only a moment, he wiped his eye and looked back at her, a smile once again forming on his lips.
"You know, I'm going to enjoy seeing you again, Buff. We'll meet some other time. Let's try to make it the same time and the same place." He said, releasing his grip on her, and walking off into the darkness that surrounded the cemetery. Breathing heavily, Buffy fought back the hot tears that threatened to overflow from her eyes.
She hated him. Oh, how she hated him.
