One shot/filler eps?

What one shot/filler episodes would you have liked to have continued or referenced again?

First thought is The Wish, but it was. Then I'd say Once More With Feeling, but they kind of continued that in Selfless.

Only one I can really think of is Conversations With Dead People, and I'm referring specifically to Holden. At least we get more of that actor with Knox in Angel.

Definately Gingerbread- they mention Amy being a rat, but I think by mentioning it in other episodes, some comedy could've occurred- hansel and gretel being a massive demon, the witch locker raids, etc.

Others include Homecoming, Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered, Life Serial (besides kitten poker 🙂 )

When I think about stuff I would have wanted mentioned again, I don't usually think of episodes; I think of characters.

A lot of people that were interesting to me in Season 1 were seemingly forgotten about in the rest of the show. That kid that they kept picking on in "The Pack", for one, along with the others who were actually the possessed kids with Xander... And what ever happened to Owen from "Never Kill a Boy On The First Date"?? Also, the Epps kid from Season 2's "Some Assembly Required". It always felt so weird to me to have these characters play such big roles... For a single episode.

I don't think I ever felt the need/want for one-shot episodes to be referenced or developed; I liked them for the fact they were one-shots. In fact, stand alone episodes are some of my favourite episodes; Band Candy, Inca Mummy Girl, Earshot...
Actually I don't think we ever hear about how Jonathon was doing after his suicide attempt in Earshot. Next time we properly hear how he was doing (correct me if I am wrong) was in his fiction reality in Superstar (another favourite episode of mine).

I always thought in the episode The Zeppo, they could have ran with it. What I mean is that, maybe the Gang could have initiated or somehow killed Xander and he could have conditioned the show as undead-Xander. While in search of looking for his 'thing' he actually gets something.. being dead, undead, zombie, etc.. My only problem with this is that it would have been overkill. The show needed to keep some regular people on there.. not everyone needs a special power or characteristic. A few seasons later of an Undead Xander, it probably would have gotten stale. Maybe have to write in a resurrection. Maybe not though.. the show probably could have used an undead guy on the team in a few creative ways.

Yet, I think that's the one I always think of.. anybody like or dislike or unsure of this idea.. for a filler expanding..

I actually would've liked the Spike & Anya relationship explored more, not even as a couple, just more with their characters because I loved their chemistry together. I also loved Something Blue & I would've loved to have seen another episode along those lines but different in its own way.

It's not actually a one shot episode, since it fit in with the season's ongoing theme, but I have always wished that there had been some sort of follow up on "As You Were," where either Spike was exonerated or the international terrorists came to town wanting either their merchandise or revenge on whoever was responsible for them not getting it, as in Buffy, who incinerated the eggs and hatchlings. I think that they missed a great opportunity by not doing that.

And not exactly the same thing as changing a single episode, but I think that the story line would have worked better if "The Girl In Question" had followed directly after "Damaged." with Angel and Spike going to Rome to clarify Andrew's statement about Buffy not trusting them anymore (also, that should have been Xander showing up with the Slayer posse, and Andrew taken as much by surprise as anyone else, for two specific reasons. One, Andrew could never have played the whole episode knowing what was going to happen and not flubbing it up somehow, and two, that scene was pure Xander, in action and dialog) They could still have had pretty much the same trouble with their old nemisis, the Immortal, simply for being in "his" city again

There was an episode of Misfits (just one unfortunately) that dealt with the logistics and complications of trying to live everyday life as a zombie. It was very funny.
