It's because by about middle of season 4, Brooke lets Lucas go. Because she knows that Peyton and Lucas love each other.

She let Lucas go? So are you saying she was with him for the whole season only to hurt Peyton, because I really don't understand.. because not liking Brooke till the middle of season 4 means that to me. After two of them broke up, she stopped talking to both of them, and she 'took advantage' of him for only one episode.. when she realized he's not hers anymore.

No, in the same episode Brooke realized It was Peyton that Lucas wanted to be with when the team won. I didn't say take advantage of him. I'm sorry. That wasn't what I meant to say.

LOL I was swaying and I just could not help myself. After seeing season five and six I was very sold and saw that Leyton is a very beautiful thing. I still love Brucas but I believe in Leyton Flannen you went and got me darn it 😛

Well, that's only one episode, not the reason for not liking Brooke, for the 3 and half seasons 🙂
It was always clear to me from season 1 , episode 1 that Lucas loved Peyton, even when he was with Brooke. I mean, hello, he went into a highschool (leaving Brooke!) with shooter inside just to find Peyton. If that's not love, nothing is.

I don't ship any OTH couples per se but I have always seen Leyton be an inevitability...kinda like Ross and Rachel from Friends. OTH would feel unfinished if Leyton didn't end up together. Much like if Naley had ever broken up permanently. They're each other's lobsters!

I actually don't have a problem with LP in the later seasons after S4, but I can't stand them before that. & now that Lucas is gone, I do ship Brooke and Julian, but BL will always be my OTH OTP.

..sorry, I'm fine with Brooke and Lucas not being together anymore, but time they've spend together was precious and has nothing to do with Peyton. She was with Jake at the time.
Except he didnt. He came out to get Peyton to the hospital. If she hadn't been on the brink of death, I have no doubts that he would have stayed there until he knew it was safe for them to leave.

As far as I remember, and I haven't rewatched OTH for a while, when they came out of the hospital, Brooke fell in his arms, and I remember that because she way crying.. the ambualnce took Peyton away.

At first I liked Lucas better than Nathan but oh, boy..was I wrong! I seriously love Nathan a lot...Lucas is too drama and messed up for me. Nathan's better 🙂

I agree with you. I know Lucas was supposed to be with Peyton in the end and stuff like that BUT his relationship with Brooke was real and they seriously loved each other. This doesn't have to be diminished just because in the end, he "had to" end up with Peyton. She was in love with Jake anyway.,..how cute were they? I always shipped them..

For starters, I don't actually agree that Lucas' first thought was to go in and save Peyton...he actually went to stop Nathan. But I'd happily argue that when he realised how adamant Nathan was to go in and get Haley, he realised he needed to do the same for Peyton...but still undecided on that.
However, he didn't come out to be with Brooke. He came out to stop Peyton from dying. He might have been with Brooke when he came out and hugged her, but the way you said it, makes it sound like that his was motivation for possibly facing down Jimmy. And it wasn't. It was because Peyton was unconscious and was going to die if he didn't. I don't mean this in a mean way but I really don't think he even thought about Brooke in that moment.
I'd also contest that their (BL) time together wasn't about Peyton. My one issue with BL is that it was far too much about Peyton (and the insecurities that sprung from that, which may have been founded upon something very very solid but Brooke made the decision to take him back...). But at the same time, and you can ask soulunsung about this lol, I really do appreciate the BL relationship. Sure I have issues with them and I never saw them as being endgame but I still enjoy them together.
And Peyton wasn't with Jake. Jake had left. I mean, she was clearly still like in love him with whatever but they weren't a couple by any means. I think she was closer to being with Pete at the time lol

You know, I agree with you on most things. I also think they made Brucas too much about Peyton, they focused too much on that. Then, I agree with what you said about the shooting episode: Lucas came out because Peyton was going to die..one of your best friends (and someone you'll always have feelings for) is dying and of course she's your fist thought in that moment...he came out to save her and that is it. About Jake I said she was in love with him and didn't really thought about Lucas when he was in Tree Hill of course..when they had a solid chance to become a true relationship. They never had their real chance and that I'm sorry for...emotionally, Jake (after Lucas) was the one she was more connected to...I ship them A LOT...and I love Jake's character..he's awesome!
^Oh, me too. He's probably my favourite recurring character. He was so genuine, so kind and so good for Peyton. I really loved them together too, despite being pretty hardcore in my love for LP. Jake REALLY loved her (and it was very much reciprocated) and it was beautiful. When she goes to Savannah before the end of S3 the way Jake handles that is just SO Jake and I love him for it but it makes it all the more heartbreaking.
As for Lucas...(going back to some other posts) I can't help but love him. They guy drives me NUTS but he's def one of my favourites. I love who he was and then I became invested in seeing him get back to that person. He stops being 'Lucas' when Keith died and it takes a long time for that boy to come back (which I credit Peyton for doing 😉) and he's so passionate and...hello, he reads! 😀
S7 and S8 made me love Nathan in a way I hadn't before. His journey is one of my favourites: so genuine, so believable and such a huge change. I think I love him a little more each episode. Plus the Nate/Clay bromance rocks!

^ Flannen I agree I loved Nathan in season 7 and 8 I still watch for him well not really I watch because well its one tree hill lol. I do love nathan deeply though and think he is just like yhou said genuine. Clay and him are helping now that Lucas is gone Clay has me laughing at some of the things he says to nathan.

They were so cute together 🙂 I shipped them too. Probably because I liked the fact Peyton is far, far away from Lucas.. with her body, anyway. But like I said, I don't have problems with them now, because I love Brooke and Julian.. they really grew on me 🙂 I just cherish Brucas time 🙂
