Do you think that the Slayer is always an only child?

Buffy was before the monks made Dawn, so I'm not including Dawn in this. Spike commented in School Hard
Spike: A Slayer with family and friends. That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

Kendra was sent away from a young age so even if she had siblings she wouldn't have known them.

I don't think it was that controlled, but I reckon they would have ensured that the Slayer was separated from all ties to the world if possible, so if they'd have had siblings then they wouldn't have really known them.

Having siblings would definitely make the job harder. Look at Buffy's life post Season 5.... I think there's a reason most Slayers didn't have big families.

I think what it means is, there can be siblings, biologically. But in Kendra's case, she was taken from her family willingly so she could focus on being a Slayer and only a Slayer. It doesn't mean she didn't have family, she just didn't grow up with them. Same with siblings. A slayer can have siblings, but if most cases are like Kendra's (because Buffy is different), they didn't grow up together, that's all.
