I have decided to take the journey and started watching M*A*S*H.
Over the years when random repeats were thrown on air I'd watch the occasional episode, but it wasn't enough to make me watch the entire series.
Eleven seasons, so this will take me a while to work through!

It has many actors from other scifi and urban fantasy shows, as well as some famous writers not yet famous (including George RR Martin who'd later make Game of Thrones). As just one example, Nathan Fillion had a major role in Starcrossed, essentially a scifi Casablanca.
I'm mainly sharing as a heads up. Some of the eps reference other eps. Last night I saw The Voice of Reason which referenced some before, and perhaps some after (I didn't recognize all the "flashback" scenes, not sure if they'll show up in later eps or not--and maybe I don't have all the eps). I think that ep would be boring and even nonsensical at best without having watched a lot of the series. A "gotcha" moment that sucker punched me was how it referenced something featured in the earlier ep Birthright. If you haven't seen it then the ending of The Voice of Reason may seem random rather than a plot twist.
At least a few are remakes from the original 1965 run. Most are just under 45 minutes, though the one GRR Martin wrote was movie length (Sandkings). I generally like it with a few being excellent, enough that I'll probably see all the eps.
I don't seem to have all the eps. I don't see Caught in the Act (starring Alyssa Milano) which was referenced in The Voice of Reason.

Star Wars: Rebels
I'm so sad this show ended. Truly one of the greatest pieces of Star Wars media, just as great as the much venerated The Clone Wars series, except while its prequel-set predecessor got 6 initially and finally 7 seasons, (plus the Bad Batch spinoff, a movie, and a couple spinoff specials), Rebels was abruptly cancelled after only four seasons, and even then the first season was a little too childish while the show was still finding its footing, so really it feels more like we only got three proper seasons.
It did so much right, capturing not just the feel, not just the writing and performances, but even down to the subtleties of re-capturing the way the special effects like the lightsabers and explosions looked like in the Original Trilogy. It adds so much new to the OT era mythos, and it honors the best characters of the Clone Wars show, incorporating those ideas to make the transition between trilogies more seamless.
They gave us our first look at Grand Admiral Thrawn, a famous figure from the EU, in an official series, and they basically captured his character perfectly, which almost never happens. Usually when you read a book, the way you imagine the character in your head is inevitably different from what an actor in the movie version does chooses to play him as. Not so in Rebels. It's picture perfect, exactly the way I remember Thrawn being in the book. Cunning, fearless, and creator of perfect strategy that thwarts the best laid plans of Rebels and Jedi. His appreciation for arts and the culture of the indigenous peoples he encounters gives him a unique insight into their military methods which most other Imperials would overlook. Brilliant.
There's just so many good stories, the main cast you feel for just as strongly as for the original team of Luke, Leia, Han, and Chewie. Even the family pet astromech "Chopper" is given so much personality and character with just boops and beeps, and hand motions, and he's a very distinct character from say R2D2.
The show was at its peak, and was Star Wars itself at its peak when it ended abruptly. Dave Filoni seems content with the way it ended, with no plans to revisit it. There is a new Ashoka live action show that's supposed to pick up where Rebels left off, but not really, since a) it time jumps from before Ep. IV to after Ep VI, b) it is live action so obviously they will re-cast all the characters whose voices you're attached to and c) live action SW has never been as good as animated SW. I will have to give it a shot, but I'm going in with a grain of salt, especially since the trailers left much to be desired. Ashoka herself was a wonderful, beloved character, but I think her story is just done. I don't really need to see more of her, or Thrawn for that matter. I did want to see more of the Rebels team taking on other classic characters and ideas from the EU that have yet to see a return.

Season 2 of the Dallas cheerleaders netflix show. I wish they had done 5 seasons of Cheer instead 🙁 There was so much more talent required for Cheer!

Just saw the first trailer for the new I Know What You Did Last Summer and my excitement is heightened; it looks really good! Like a nice mixture of what the original was and what that genre of films looks like these days. Also seems like the returning Prinze Jr. and JLH have more than just a one scene cameo, something I was a little worried about. I'm trying not to have too high expectations, but then the first two are not exactly masterpieces that I just happen to love 🙂
