Yellowjackets S3. Add it to the numerous shows that started strong in the first, went nowhere in the second and then became a mess by the third. It's clear that killing off a certain character was not on the cards initially but it is what it is and that left the writers scrambled desperately. Incredibly disappointing.

Person Of Interest S2: Better than the excellent S1, on to the next.

POI S5 was a bit of a disappointment. This is also the first thing I saw Amy Acker in.

S3 of Person of interest is even better. Disagree on Yellowjackets S3. I think it bounced back strong. The trial episode was excellent, there's 2 or 3 really strong episodes in the back half. I do agree with that death being unnecessary.

POI has been on my need to watch list for a long time. Might get to it this year.
Fit for tv

The Biggest Loser documentary series, Bob is on it. I didn't think any of the trainers would be willing but I am loving that he's there. And looking so good for 60 and post a heart attack.

Survivor Australia Vs the World

@nightshade I watched fit for tv last night. Loved that they mentioned damaged metabolisms which is so often glossed over! The Danny guy who was the 8th winner and gained all the weight back was my favourite returnee on it. One of the other ladies was a total sook. Another two had legitimate trauma from the experience. I want to read more on the skinniest winner of the series, like where she is now. I've seen Bob on a few tv shows since his heart attack but cant remember which now! Adored the lady who pointed out that doing all the "right" things doesnt guarantee good health.

Reason: wrong dude

My Oxford Year: watched this last night with my squeeze and I thought it was pretty funny how the US still gets the UK wrong. The Oxford depicted here has less litter, less tourists, more cockney chip shops and less insane blue haired students than the actual real world Oxford. And that's just the setting, not getting on to the people. Other than that this was by-the-numbers romance. I think the entire genre in regards to film is still on life support.

Bookish: Post WWII mystery series created and starring Mark Gatiss of Sherlock and League Of Gentlemen fame. Very strong setting and opening two-parter, great characterization and period detail. The whole thing has shades of film noir at times but can also be wry and playful. Whilst the follow-up mysteries weren't as strong it's still a decent offering overall. Worth a view.

Guns are the big thing that the US gets wrong with the UK.

I remember watching Rachel win it, and the controversy at the time with her. I wish she had been on it. Joelle annoyed me, especially as she implied at the end that her weight loss was because of weight loss drugs.
I didn't remember the sisters, but did remember Tracy.

Agreed on Joelle!
Gordon Ramsay's Secret Service. A few episodes in, and not hearing him swearing up a storm is almost unsettling. 😂

I am sure I came across something somewhere that said his entire foul-mouthed persona is one that was constructed solely for television.
@NotASlayer - he does get fiery but for the most part, yes you are correct. I've read he's actually very lovely and polite in 'real life'.

If you've watched Kitchen Nightmares, there's a difference between the UK and US versions. No doubt he dialled things up for the US version.

@NotASlayer - True! And the way he treats supporting staff at restaurants.

I think the version of him you see around children is more the real him.
Some random youtube movie from the 90's. A plumber proposes to a librarian after 2 days and one date. She takes her hair out and says yes. His grandmothers ring fits perfectly.

I've got hold of season 1 Dark Angel. (The one with Jessica Alba.)

I saw parts of it when I was a teen, but don't remember it that well. I remember liking it back then but thinking the quality fell as it progressed, though it could've been because that I was forced to skip some eps.

I've been meaning to track it down for years now to give it another chance, though that most people seemed to praise how hot the characters are over its plot, arcs, and themes made me hesitate (since as a general rule if how hot the cast is dominate the conversation then that's what the show is coasting off of). Thankfully, it has more going for it than just that.

The first 3 eps have been really good at juggling different parts and making them part of a cohesive whole. It looks as if I'll get through season 1 relatively fast. So far so good.
